Yeah and I'm a space shuttle pilot. LOL What happened is the kids and parents found out that he was completely lying about the school board reinstating him and his conversations with them. Give one to the school board, they crushed his nuts on this one. Now he is trying to save face and say that he is encouraging the kids to play and he's getting a friend to donate money. Why can't he donate money, since he started all of this!? The way I see it, I hope he has solid proof of criminal misconduct (Drugs) and taking money by a certain administrators, because if he don't he might just be giving money up anyway! I'm glad that the kids are playing. That is where they should be, on the field not in a parking lot taking up for a grown man! Please someone give him a good reference for a job at the other end of the state or out of state to get him away from Washington Co. Now lets enjoy this game tonight win or loose football will be played.

They had close to 60 if not over 60 at the first of fall practice. Kids just started quitting all the way up to 4 weeks ago. I think they had 34 dressed on the sideline at Cherokee. I seen one of there more well known players at Micky D's a little while ago. Bless his heart, he said as along as they got 11 they are playing Friday. He says that their offense is intact and will have to make a lot of adjustments on D. But he plans on winning Friday. Felt good to hear a young man with a direction and goal during all of this BS. He said he is a Football Player not an activist! Maybe we all on Coach T should show up to support the players on the field Friday!

Just received horrible news! The almost full team practice yesterday is not so much today. There has been a lot of threats and idle threats go out toward the kids and the parents are in fear for their child's safety playing ball. I knew with the silly statement GS put out yesterday that he is just 24 hours from having the board reinstating him would scare the players. It did just that! Now all his intent is to completely ruin this season for them boys. He knows he will not get rehired and he is done. So, he's trying to drag everything and everyone down with him! What can we do for this team? My heart is broke right now for these kids.

It's all part of intimidating kids so they will not practice or play. The kids there are absolutely scared to death of him. I am ashamed of some of the parents that are turning a blind eye!? OK, say he had 100 kids supporting him and 200 parents. IMO if only ONE kid's safety is at stake then he should be gone! Don't understand the protest.

First of all, he is a non-tenured teacher and that is all they can rule on, for hiring and firing. The Super has all the power in this. Second, it will take more than 24 hours to make announcements for the meeting or it is a violation of the sunshine law. 5 business days is the least they could hold a public meeting. This is just another tactic to scare the kids into not playing football! Ridiculous!

Talk to a coach tonight, they said most of the kids are returning to practice tomorrow. I think they will be just fine under Qualls.

And I would advise no one to ever let their child be coach by him!

Devil58 they released that Qualls was named interim HC. His offense was averaging over 40 points a game. Unfortunately GS was the DC and they were giving up close to 40 points a game. lol I guess he was to involve in being a community activist, instead of being a coach. I think things will be OK. I Just got a report that all the key players have seen the light and will be at practice tomorrow. Should be an interesting game Friday. I will be there. Happy to be back supporting Pioneers!!!

No that's not exactly right. I had reservations but then after watching him and DC in the spring scrimmage I felt he would be good for DC. But things started changing for me during the summer and fall practice. I started having parents complain to me about a very harsh coaching style. I wrote it off to kids not be use to a different coach. After about 20 kids started quitting and a lot of them seniors. I started looking and listening closer about the parents complaints. During a couple of the fall scrimmages and a bunch of hearing M.F'ers from him to the kids. I started completely changing my viewpoint on him. I missed the first game but witnessed the pregame of Campbell County and him using conditioning as punishment with bear crawls in front of everyone. Of course, cursing them the whole time. DC got beat by 2. I don't condone his way of motivating kids. IMO it's abuse. I've heard to many issues to discuss all. But I understand that one of his best players was about to quit and make a statement on what was really going on. I wouldn't want to see that kid not finish his senior year but I would love to hear what is really going on inside the sensabaugh camp.

It's the question of how he's getting that "support"! Is through scare tactic's, bullying, or paying their way into movies and promising them the moon? He had a WR with over 250 yards in receiving Friday and a QB with 6 TD's of course no one knows that because that isn't about him! You know he preaches it's all about his team. No not "all" are supporting him, that's why he is begging kids not to show up to practice tomorrow on FB and group text. He know's the writing is on the wall and trying to circle the wagons. I tried to tell people and was told that I had sour grapes and I must have applied for the job. lol Seen and heard things with my own eyes and ears. Glad someone else see's the same thing.

What I've been told is that 90% of the team would love it if he were to go his own way. There is a lot of parents that don't agree with their kids getting cussed everyday or being embarrassed with conditioning for punishment before games. The only agenda I've been seeing is GS's self-gratifying blast on his bosses and school system that gave him a shot to coach when no one else would. A lot going on here. I really enjoy retirement so I can travel around to different games, haven't applied for a job in over 20 years. Sounds like you might be a little star struck and butt hurt yourself with someone speaking out about your hero. IMO I promise I'm not trying to be confrontational but go to one of their games and watch and listen with an open mind. Just because someone of stature is doing wrong, doesn't make it right. Me, I won't be back until there is a change.

Bless those kids and the community's hearts. I hate that for them. I was just kidding with my post but it's the exact opposite in Washington County as far as getting rid of coaches. It's almost like they get free reign to do whatever with no repercussions. I've been around for a while, playing at Jonesboro High School. lol I've seen a lot of high school sports around here, but some of the stuff at Crockett would blow your mind. I watch that team do bear crawls for the entire pre-game one time. What I'm hearing, is while GS is crusading for better school conditions, he is completely killing his team. You would think that he would focus on those kids in front of him instead of being Captain Obvious and telling everyone we need new schools. I know this thread is about Volunteer but hearing why that coach got fired and looking at DC it makes me laugh. GS don't wait for a meeting of the team to go off on a cussing rant on them, a fan can hear it on the sideline during the game. I'm really surprised that parents are letting this go on and I'm really surprises that the School is not fixing it, nor really care. It's so bad that I won't support them anymore. I guess I'll start going to Volunteer and support them, with whoever the coach is and maybe we can get them turned around.

My question is, if they don't fire him when is it going to end? He's got a team to think about and to prepare to play and although he does not care about winning or football, the kids might. I know some kids that go there and I don't believe it's been a bed of roses this year even though they are performing well. A parent of an athlete at DC asked me why he couldn't have waited until the end of the season? I had no answer. It would have made more sense. He does have a boss if he wants to continue and coach. I wonder what would happen if one of his players felt the urge to express something they feel strongly about, against his wishes? I hope all of this is for change and not for his on audience. I'm not going to judge, yet. You are spot on Foose about social media, the problem with social media you never really know the type of following you got, could be people a lot worse than work crew inmates. IMO LOL

In years past Hampton has been regional powerhouse, not hearing that this year. What's the prediction?

I've said it since the first game, SH has the best team I've seen them have in a long time. I have to give this one to SH but if anyone can beat them locally it will be Gville.
