  1. What's the outlook of this game? Gibbs needs a win and Crockett seems to keep improving.
  2. I'll have to agree. Carter does have a team this year. I don't think the Owls have the QB to that can attack SH's weakest point which is their secondary.
  3. I think I'm going against the grain this week with CC v DC. I'll have to agree with you concerning some of the problems of them meshing as a team. But if DC shuts down CC's run game I believe DC wins it by 10. DC's defense looked pretty good at times last week stopping Seymour at least 3 times in the red zone. It might be one of the more interesting games in the area to watch. If CC travels over 2 hours, thinking they will be competing with a lessor team than Cherokee, then DC might surprise them. DC by 10
  4. Crockett definitely has the offense that can move the ball. I like the way it is set up, a lot different from the hurry up of years past. I think the hurry up got Crockett in trouble sometimes and that is with any team that try to play 100+ snaps offensively a game. Now defensively the jury is still out. Didn't show much in the SH scrimmage. I think not using Lewis on Defense will hurt them especially with run attack of Seymour and definitely against a passing team. Everyone I've spoken with are scratching their heads with that move, but coaches are happy not to have to game plan for him. I hope Crockett can pull it out. Don't like any of our regional teams loosing to out of region teams!
  5. I've seen both scrimmage, SH by 21. Ok I'll be nicer SH by 18. Either way SH starters will not even be on the field in the 4th quarter. Sorry
  6. SH by 21 and there will be no problem with their D line. It's the biggest and most aggressive I've seen them have in years. Now you are correct SH definitely needs to tighten up their secondary. That will be the difference on how far they make it in the playoffs. The WR's I'm not so much worried about due to them really not being a pass first team. It should be a good year for Coach Carter and his boys.
  7. I've seen him #8, don't know the kids name but you are right. If he gets time in the pocket he is pretty good. I seen him at the SH scrimmage. Very light on his feet and I would say he is Cherokee's best running threat also. The miscues he did have seem like the receivers ran the wrong route. If they get all together Cherokee could have a very fast pace and explosive offense. 5A should be fun to watch this season.
  8. Yeah, I was really impressed with Crockett's QB. From what I remember Crockett moved the ball ok on the ground but the QB did throw some pretty passes. But I think he threw an int a time or two. Nothing like they did at Elizabethton. There was an article in the Press about Lewis being moved to OT. I believe I would find a way to play him both ways. I would guess a lot of coaches will be happy not to have to game plan for him!
  9. I can't see Crockett below Volunteer or Cocke Co or even TN high for that matter. I watched them play at Betsy during the spring and they were pretty impressive. I also watch them against SH and they were NOT so impressive but their Offense did move the ball, but SH does have a very strong team this year. I read in the paper that the Lewis kid is only playing offense and he could have helped with Crockett's D against SH, their D was non-existent. I am really confused by that move but I'm not in the know with Crockett. The rough pre-season could very well be just getting adjusted to the new coach. From what I've seen, I would have to agree that if they start clicking then a lot of teams could be in big trouble.
