  1. I agree... VERY EASY SCHEDULE. It's bout to get real.
  2. I'm definitely pulling for the home team! I hope they pull it off.
  3. I think Henry County was legit at #1. I've thought Gtown was too low all season. Everybody in this area knows the Region pretty much has to go through Whitehaven. I think Germantown is the best football team in the area however. Especially after Friday nights win. I would love to see them play Lausanne. Henry County should stay in the top 3 unless the voters don't think too high of Germantown. We'll see
  4. I think for the most part statewide picks were for Henry County.
  5. Question? Does the outcome speak more about Gtown being 6th in 6a (too high/low). Or does it speak more about Henry county and their ranking (too high/low) at # 1 in 5A? Or were both teams legit in where they were ranked. Is Henry County still the best team in 5a? Is Germantown where they should be # 6 in 6A?
  6. Cordova isn't the same team from last year or before. They'll probably play tough but I don't think it will be enough.
  7. Gonna be a good game. Whitehaven too tough though. They win by 2 tds at least.
  8. Gonna have to agree with you on this one. Too much talent according to the experts.... I know LB and OL (Mcbride) have been hurt but 4 star tight end and 4 star receiver and 3 star receiver. .....The guy with the least amount of stars is the work horse. (RB) Nobody in the state should be ashamed to lose to this bunch. The opposing team has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  9. Germantown's kicker was good Friday night. All but one kick offs were touchbacks. 1 for 1 on field goals. Punts were pretty good too. HC did a great job stopping the run. Nothing up the middle and barely anything on the outside. VERY discipline front 4 for H C. Germantown QB was good Friday night. He had a pick on the first series and settled down. Their WR #3 made big plays all night and kept moving the chains when they needed it. QB threw 3 touchdowns to #'s 2,3 and the big TE # 32 ( + big 2pnt conversion) Germantown's defense allowed only 19 yards thru the air. Pretty good since their QB has thrown for well over 1200 yards this season. This was a big win for Gtown.
  10. Thursday 1. Hillcrest 2. Mitchell Friday 3. Freedom Prep 4. Mase 5. BTW 6. Fairley 7. Munford 8. Arlington 9. Central 10. Houston 11. Germantown 12. MBA 13. Lausaunne 14. Briarcrest 15. MUS
  11. Correction*** Cordova and Houston are both in Region 7.
  12. I agree! Depth is definitely the key. I think if Lausanne was playing larger schools the depth would finally catch up to them as well. It's easy when you're players aren't getting banged up by the big boys.
  13. I hear ya.... The offense they run is like Navy though. Most teams aren't prepared for that running game. Through week 7 I think this is where they belong. It'll all play out in the coming weeks. I see you have Cordova over Kirby. I just don't see it. Central....I'm still not sure about them. As far as the top 6 are concerned, they are all ranked in the state and a case can be made for anyone of them. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Good list though.
  14. 1a. Lausanne- Defeated St. Georges 55-14 to win their ____ game in a row. (maybe someone can tell me) They are ranked #1 in Division II-AA. This week home against ECS. Should be another W. 1b. Germantown- Defeated Douglass High 49-0. Douglas is struggling but the "Red Swarm" ( I believe they the Defense) only allowed 8 total yards for the game. GTown will be going into hostile territory on Friday. Henry County is ranked # 1 in 5A and Germantown is # 6 in 6A. This should be a heckuva game if both teams show up. 3. MUS- Defeated Haywood County 54-28 to improve to 5-0. This week they'll put a whoopin' on undefeated St. Benedict who has been beating up on inferior competition. # 4 Division II-AAA. 4. Covington- Covington had a week off. They will play at Martin Westview Friday night. Westview is struggling this season..... should be a W. #2 in state 3A rankings. 5. Christian Brothers- Defeated Memphis East 69-0. Offense looked good on Friday even though it was against an inferior team. Run game looking strong. Friday against Briarcrest will be huge. This is always a good game and I expect this one to be the same. #2 Division II-AAA. 6. Whitehaven- Slaughtered Hamilton 76-0. The Haven needed a game like this one. Friday night they play Trezevant. Easy W.... # 9 in state 6A rankings. 7. Houston- Defeated Melrose 39-0 at home. Next game vs Cordova. This should be a good game. Cordova's only loss is to Whitehaven and Houston's loss was to Germantown. Battle of regions 7 and 8 in 6A. I'm predicting Houston in a landslide victory. 8. Briarcrest- Defeated KIPP last Friday 51-0. Big game against Christian Brothers on Friday. Must see.... 9. Kirby- Defeated Kingsbury 62-0 on Friday. This week they have Bolton. Wow... they should win the rest of their games. No competition besides a mediocre MUNFORD team. 10a. Cordova- Defeated Sheffield on Friday. Should be a good game Friday against a good Houston team. 10b. Central- Central Defeated 1A Fairley on Friday night. This week they play a Collierville team coming off big win in their new stadium. Central should pull this one off too. Collierville is without their starting quarterback who was injured in the Germantown game. Watch out for WHITE STATION! Looks like they're cranking up!
  15. A game a lot of folks have been anticipating. Henry County looks to stay unbeaten at home. Both teams are 6-0 and ranked 2nd and 6th respectively in regions 5A and 6A. Germantown travels well, this should be great atmosphere. Who you got?
  16. That wasn't your ordinary losing team. White Station played the toughest schedule in the state last year. Germantown beat them a few weeks prior. W S won on a 4th and 22 Hail Mary caught on the 2 yard line with seconds remaining. Which they punched in seconds later. That loss from my perspective was on the coaching staff. They became predictable on offense. Not uncommon with young coaches in new territory.....end of the day they still lost. We'll see if they're prepared this year.
  17. Central has a proven coach. Just not sure they have all the pieces in place yet.
  18. Preciate it. Totally from a high school football fans perspective
  19. I know a couple of the transfers came from Lausanne and East. DII-AA is tough but is it thaaaat tough over all. 4a football is totally different from 6A especially with the schedule Whitehaven has.
  20. By the way.. I forgot this thread is supposed to be about GERMANTOWN. LOL We are in the 901 though. All football talk eventually leads to talking about WHITEHAVEN. Forgive us Germantown followers.

  22. Which also brings up another question.... Are some of those kids NOT as good as their rankings and offer lists portrays? At the end of the day... They won! They are going to some major Universities! I applaud Coach for getting it done. I just haven't seen it yet? Have you? Is it the system? Coaching? What? Chemistry?
