  1. Thanks. Not our best game by far, but hey you guys earned it. Good luck
  2. Because you’ll have too, to have any chance to beat Greeneville. Your run game might work for a possession or two against them, but they will adjust better than any team you’ve seen this year. They are very good at taking away what you do best and forcing you to do something else.
  3. Congratulations to Haywood! Better team won last night. Good luck next week, you guys will need it.
  4. Yes imho. Hattie B’s is good, but Prince’s is the original hot chicken. For bbq, Jack Cawthon’s on Charlotte Ave
  5. Like the late great Al Davis said; “just win baby win”.......
  6. That’s true he opens up the game for a lot of people, kinda the same way #31 does for Haywood.
  7. I think his point is that Haywood is the favorite. They keep saying they’re the dogs
  8. Ok. Sounds like y’all got plenty of play makers. What y’all didn’t see last year that you will see this year is our RB #8. He was out for most, if not all, of the playoffs with injury. He’s got well over 1000 yards rushing, plus the other backs are probably close. The QB has got over 3000 all purpose yards with 30 something all purpose TD’s. I haven’t even got to #23 yet. My point is this, y’all have great play makers, and so do we. Last year was last year, It doesn’t matter. I, like Kevin, think this will be a close game. On paper the play makers are about even, imho.
  9. You guys traveled well last year. Probably about the same, if not more from us this year.
  10. Jackson has been good to the Jackets the last couple of years........
  11. I guess I should’ve said I wish it was easier for us to do it. It takes a wavier, which is nearly impossible to get. I’ve looked into it, not for high school students but for elementary students. I think I’d have better luck running for Congress.
  12. Hate to say it, looks like another wet one on Friday in Brownsville
  13. It has nothing to do with what I think our chances would be against Greeneville. It has to do with the truth and facts. I never said it was wrong, I said it was legal. I also said I wish we could do it. I’m not worried about Greeneville right now any way. My attention is on Haywood, the game in front of us. You do have me all wrong tho. I’m a realist, not an optimist. I’ve said all year Greeneville is the top team in 4A until somebody proves otherwise. That somebody hasn’t showed up yet......
  14. I’ll give it a try. I think what he’s trying to say is that Greeneville, Alcoa, and Maryville are open zone city schools more or less. Anyone that wants to go there can as long as they get in, can get a ride, and pay their tuition. Now if you’ve got great sports programs, facilities, and good coaching staffs, which they all do. The upper crust of good athletes in the area are naturally going to want to come there. Is it an advantage? Absolutely. Is it wrong? Absolutely not, it’s within the scope of the rules the TSSAA has laid out. You’ll never hear me say anyone of those schools is cheating or anything like that. The players still have to put in the long hard work like anyone else, and so do the coaches. Truth be told, I wish our district would allow it.
  15. So you’re going to score 540 points this time......
  16. Yep idk how he got out the back side. Still amazing to me
  17. True. Still no cupcake loses tho. One is in the semi’s in 5A and the other should’ve made it to the 2nd or 3rd round on the 5A side at least.
  18. Can’t argue with that. Truth hurts but I can take it. Honestly that would’ve been the outcome of that game regardless of who y’all played tho:
  19. With coverage yes they do show us some love. With rankings, no. I should’ve been more clear.
  20. I don’t think you are underdogs. I think it’s pretty evenly matched on both ends. I know Haywood isn’t going to overlook Springfield at all, it should be a heck of a game. In my opinion tho Springfield really hasn’t got much respect from a state wide media point of view, even the mid-state papers. Everyone knows Greeneville is the class of 4A, but this Springfield class of seniors have been to 4 straight qt finals and 2 straight semi-finals. They’ve probably won more games than any other class in Springfield football history.
  21. In Mason, TN down the road from Brownsville, looks like about 20 miles or so on the map. But idk for sure. It’s the original Gus’s tho. If you’ve ever ate at any of them you’ll now why I’m asking about it. I’m not a big fan of fried chicken, but I love Gus’s. It’s one of the few fried chicken places I’ll eat.
