LHS future star transfers a week ago. He is a sophomore. When will he be able to play for Friendship??? There was a topic goging last Friday but I can't find it. So I started this one. He's a great athlete and Lebanon Football and Baseball will miss him. He would have started for them in both sports. He was a standout freshman in both sports as well. He'll be a super star on Friendship's level of compitetion. Again when will he be eligible???

I've heard that several Private schools have been moved up a division due to the multiplier. Goodpasture was moved up I know, but their rival Friendship squeaked by and stayed in the same division. I know many have a problem with this whole Private/Public thing but is the Multiplier fair among Privates???? Goodpasture and Friendship were once in the same district but due to the multiplier rule they aren't. Tell me what you guys think.

It's early but what do the teams look like for next year in Dist. 7 AAA??? Lebanon had another rough year. Will they be better next year??? I know they have a good 8th grade group coming up from their feeder programs. Do they have any pitching after all the seniors are gone???? What about Cookeville?? They lost a lot of seniors?? Riverdale??? Oakland??? Will they fall down again or return to the top?? If so who do they have?? siegel?? How did they do it?? Luck or is it what's to come??? Blackman??? Sparta???

Yeah!! Texas is big on VOUCHERS!!! That's Pres. Bush home state. Don't MESS WITH TEXAS!! No man!! If the Privates were put in their own divisions separate from Public they wouldn't dominate as they do now. So athletes would be less interested. Most kids see the success that Privates have and want to play ball for them. Winning attracts attention. But Privates in Single A would be the same as a AAA team getting to play in single A. It'd be a joke just like it is now with Privates in single A. Private A's are like bullies they pick on the little guys. Why don't you guys step up to AAA and see how it feels to be knocked down every game and having no chance tournament time. If it were that way all the Private schools would be wining about fairness and I'd agree then that it wouldn't be fair for you guys. Walk a mile in the others kids shoes and maybe you'll see. This isn't about the parents, it's about the kids. Privates need to be bumped up a to play tougher teams.

RollRedRoll must be a Private school Dad or Coach!! RUBlind!!! I think is leaning toward Public but trying to be nonpartial and make a point that they are different. I have to agree with RUBlind!!! They are different and should be treated so. I like the Mississippi way as well. Private schools should be like the Ivy Leagues in college sports. This would stop all the accusations of recruiting and griping about who is better. I'm sorry RollRedRoll but Private schools do have a broader range on students than Public schools who only get kids in that particular zone where a Private school can take kids from different Public School zones. Either way if a program Private or Public get caught or "PROVEN" guilty of recruiting then they should be punished. I do see recruiting as a problem.

I'm with you on this one RUBLIND!!! I have no problem with my kid going to public or private. I do have a problem with recruiting. In a way it is cheating the kids that have attended that particular school system public or private their entire lives. Those kids lose out that weren't recruited and my miss an opportunity b/c of that circumstance. So yes I agree any program Private or Public that recruits should be punished to the fullest extent!!! If I found out a coach was doing that at the school where my kid attended I might transfer my kid. But again I'm with you I have no beef with Private or Public just recruiting and if you have the proof on a program then put it to them!!! You have my support!!! But I do agree that Mississippi's way seems like the way to go that way there would be no problems between Public and Private sports. All would be fair. thumb thumb

I don't know that's a tough question. I know Coach Lutrell at Watertown never has a chance against Friendship Christian along with the other single A public schools in their district. This topic has been discussed before but there's not going to be any changes I don't think.

Unless the coaches did something absoulutely ridiculous they should be left alone!!! How many hours do most people put in a week at their jobs???? Double that and you might be close to the hours coaches put into coaching!!! It's not always the coach's fault when a team is losing sometimes there is no talent comes from bad genes!!! The coach can't go out on the field and play!!! I think all programs everywhere would be much better if parents would be fans and cheer on the team through good and bad!!! If parents did this they teach their kids good sportsmanship and how to be a TEAM player and not an individual when you gripe and complain to your kid about how terrible the coach is....I mean what are you teaching your kid when you do that???? Nothing!!!! This country is getting full of gripers and complainers!!!!!!! GROW UP!!!!!! LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!! Not all teams can have a winning season!! If a kid learns how to deal with the bad times it will make him a better man one day!!! PARENTS!!!! DO YOUR JOBS AND COACHES WILL DO THEIRS!!!! How about this parents???? Give you job address to your child's coaches and they'll come and watch you work and then if they think they can do better they'll set up an appointment with your boss and let him know that you should be fired!!! What about that???? That's what you guys are doing!!!! Leave coaches alone unless they are doing something they should not be doing!!! Teach your kids to be MEN not whiners!!!!!!!!

You are absolutely right!! I have to apoligize for my last post, atleast for a part of it. Many boys read these posts and I hope they read down to this post. It sounded like I was going to confront the man in the above post. I apoligize for the way it sounded. I do not know this man nor do I want to but I shouldn't have stated that I was going to meet him at the next LHS/LC game. That was ignorant and is not the way a true man handles things. I let my feelings get a little away from me. I'm now am no better than this guy. So I apoligize for that. I still disagree w/ people stirring things up. If you don't have anything positive to say then don't say nothing at all. I just wish more parents and outsiders stood up for and supported their coaches. No man is perfect!!! Also every deserves a second chance. Coaches put alot of time into what they do. They make many sacrifices for the game like time with their own families. So I think they deserve more RESPECT for what they do instead of people trying to stir up problems for them. But again I apoligize but really if you're going to blast on someone for whatever reason try to talk to that person/coach before spreading rumors to hurt the coach. I mean if you want to rant on this site then leave the coaches name and school out of it. If your low enough to use the coaches name then atleast be man enought to state your name. To all Coaches and players good luck and play hard.

Buddy!!!! Here's the deal I'm not just talking about you I'm talking about all who bash coaches...yes including you. As for the pot calling the kettle black.....If I were blasting a coach I'd talk to him one on one not put it on a post for others to see like you did. Yes my name isn't stated b/c I have a kid at the middle school and I don't bash my coaches I support them through good and bad as all parents should. The reason I don't state my name is b/c I want no advantage given to my kid for supporting the coaches he plays for. However I do know that LHS plays you guys next week I can make time to come to that game and meet you if you'd like. I support all coaches and i think more should do the same. When parents I'm sitting around start gripping I get up and leave. And don't take this as I'm against your kids b/c I'm not I'm, I'm just against people like you getting on here and talking bad about coaches. I wish your team the best. There's nothing better than two teams battling it out to the end. You are entitled to your opinion but keep it to yourself. Coach t is for posting positive things. No I don't support poor sportsmanship but that game/day is on the books. Plus a lot of coaches only shake the hands of the other coaches not the players. I tell you what wear a yellow shirt to the next LHS/LC game and I'll love to intro myself to you......This was for all Coaches who have put up with crap Just wanted to show you that there are actually some parents who support ALL of you!!!!! I just want to thank all the great men who coach a sport and apologize for all the crape parents and other outsiders and of course the good ol' politics that they have to deal with day in and day out. You guys put in countless hours working with out boys and get paid nothing for it. So I hope that all who read this take the time to post a thank you to all the great coaches out there. Also tell us what they do to make them great.

Ok I'll reply to you guys one more time. I've checked out Coach Slone credentials since he got the job here at LHS. The man played for Coach Woody Hunt, one of the best in the game. Coach Hunt's boys make great coaches!! Look around at the programs his players are now coaching and you'll see what I mean. Coach Slone played some pro ball as well. Also I could be wrong but I think he did some great things down your way as well. I don't know for fact but from hear say but I think all the titles district and region were under his coaching. Again I don't know that part for fact. It sounds to me like the problem with LC is good ol politics which sadly is more common place than not these days. LHS has had 3 coaching changes over the past 3 years but they have not blasted these guys on coach t or any where else and I don't think they should. Coaches are HUMAN they make mistakes let it go. Don't try to ruin a man's rep when he's trying to make a new start. The past is the past as I see it. As for the part where you said that he wasn't there for his players during the tough times....well I see that to be a problem with you guys. Our Coaches at WJB don't baby our players when they lose or don't perform and I sure hope that it's that way at LHS. I don't want coaches to teach my kid that losing or not doing your best is ok. I want my kid to become a man and always try his best even in tough times and not to expect people to baby him. I feel for all coaches on this subject. Too many parents get involved when they need to set back and let the coach do his job. Plus I think you actually embarass your kid by griping and complaining just like you guys are doing now on coach t. Most kids are spoiled and soft these days thanks to over bearing parents like you. To all coaches everywhere I say this.....Keep up the good work making boys men and teaching them morals and how to succeed in life.....It's easy for parents and other outsiders to down a coach but if they could only put themselves in their shoes and see the countless hours those great men spend with our boys and the sorry little pay they get for all that they do maybe they'd be more supportive. You coaches are heroes to the boys that play for you. I apoligize for the crape you all go through with parents, outsiders and good ol' politics. To all parents with a gripe have class and keep it to yourself b/c more than likely the problem inlies with you not the coach!!! Yeah you heard it from me the parent that suports the coach Johnny really does stink and belongs on the bench!!!! Get over it!!!! And let the coaches coach and the boys play that have busted their butts and earned it!!!!!!! Play Ball!!!!

Who has the best middle school program and who are these great coaches coaching them???? Of course my vote is with WJB and Coach Spurlock and Holland. These guys do a great job and could also do great at the high school level coaching.

What is this all about??? I've heard nothing but good things about the LHS coaching staff this year. I should know b/c I've got a kid coming through in a few years. We've got an unbelievable middle school program with Coach Spurlock and Coach Holland. Besides this guy sounds like he's Coach Tate or a very close relative would be my guess. YOU"RE THE ONE WITH NO CLASS posting what you did. You sound like a whiner!!!! Get over it!!!!! The future will tell who's the better coach. Any success you guys have now should be credited to Coach Slone until 3 more years when all will be Coach Tate's credit. But really guys anyone who blasts someone on Coach T. has no class and no balls about him. Baseball is a man's sport and the talking is done on the field and that is also where it stays. This is not just directed to you whiney boy but everyone else who chooses to hide behind coach t and blast on a coach or a player. If you're a real man put your full name on your post when you blast someone!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering how Lebanon did last night against Wilson Central???? I heard they did pretty good in the pre-season.

Well by what I heard the Coach last year had no PR skills and had the teams chemistry all out of wack. I've heard some good things though about this year. But if you were asking about WJB Baseball I could tell you for sure that we're going to be a force to be reckoned with. We have two great Coaches!!! We're going to win some games. So as for this year for LHS I hear is going to be good but the future is looking very bright!!! Our Coaches are doing a great job preparing our kids for the high school level. So LHS baseball should be getting better every year. But by what I've heard and read on Coach T this new Coach is taking LHS baseball forward unlike the guy they had last year. Man that's some funny stuff. What about WJB's new assistant??? He was LHS's pitching coach last year but has moved on to WJB. He looks like an up right Quzzy Motoe, you know "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". But Man!!!! Can he hit some fungo!!!! No not really.... Coach needs a driver because he has no power!!!! The infielders have to relay his fly balls to the outfield. His infield fungo has more hops than the EASTER BUNNY!!! Give that man some irons and watch out PGA!!!! He's a sly one when it comes to giving signs too!!! All I have to say is watch out siegel when Coach Holland steps on the field IT's GAME OVER!!! Look for him this season he's the tall lanky guy w/ side burns and alot of ATTITUDE!!! He'll be the coach in the 1st base coach box. The WJB Devils now have the edge!!!
