  1. Mili Patel.. the only guy to ever try and pile drive someone during a game He definately gets my vote too KoLax33, who did you have in mind, thats kinda a random question
  2. Bob Marley before a game is basically like eating wheaties before competing in the olympics. Its not overly angry (you dont want to go crazy), but rather smooth. It really gets you focused and in the zone. Dont knock it till youve tried it.
  3. My apologies to wehttam, i got a little ahead of myself there and missed a very important detail.. your signature. i pulled that post.
  4. i usually chop up some fresh orange peel and sprinkle them over my pads in my locker or in my bag on trips. ive heard that those taxi cab air fresheners work well too. seriously, i dont think its worth it to try and keep them smelling nice or even neutral. as for my pads, they basically get soaked in sweat every day and hung up in a locker room with a bunch of other sweaty pads, which creates a haven for bacteria. you could like Febreze it every day or something. Its really fighting an uphill battle. just take this advice... dont get stuck in the middle of a huddle. ive never tried using newspaper, though
  5. I've heard plenty of junk from CBHS fans in my years of playing. the bottom line is, fans are fans, and the player has no right to do anything back to the fans. As far as someone throwing a ball at the CBHS guys leaving the field, i dont know. I really have to see it to believe it, but i dont mean to call anyone a liar. After all, it is possible. However fans are fans and im in favor of fans getting rowdy (it adds to the game- think about the games weve all played where the fans are just a bunch of girls talking about the clothes they wear.. thats no fun- a good rowdy crowdy is fun, even if they do get under your skin) I start playing my best when i hear little punks tellin me crap like "hey 32, grow a pair" or when my attackman said to someone else that "i am the worst defender ever" and how "he has no idea why i am on the field" It gets me fired up and thats when i really start to run hard and hit hard. I love it. I try to make the opposing team feel for the junk i hear. thats what its all about. My biggest concern with the refs is just that they ignored some serious penalties that could result in injuries. Specifically one play comes to mind, where sam sawyer (19) was (maybe) picking up a GB, some CBHS guy pretty much speared him from behind.. the call? out of bounds, CBHS ball. THats the stuff the REALLY gets to me. That cant be happenin. I also heard that a CBHS player flicked off the crowd in a basketball game... food for thought
  6. I also want to say that i think these sort of questions are BS because everyones so biased. I say jimbo is better because his team won, but even more so because (bias) i play with him. Any CBHS guy will say Taylor is better based on some other stats. theres nothing wrong with that, i think esp. in a game like tonights where both goalies had good games, a fan should rally behind his own team's goalie.
  7. In Scales' defense, the "reffing" of the game of CBHS vs. MUS was "interesting." MUS scored 19 penalties tonight, and i would have to say that a fair majority of them were very questionable. I say this not only from my observation of the game, but i am #32 for MUS, and i was the penalty leader of the team until recently. I had zero penalties tonight, and i dont really think i changed my game too much. I dont know if that means anything to anybody else, but that tells me that the reffing was "interesting." Scales has almost always been at odds with the refs, and he has a history of receiving questionable calls (and, i'll admit, plenty of good calls). Scales does let his emotions get to him at times, but he is still a very important part of the MUS defense. I believe it was about when Scales got ejected when CBHS made its comeback. He may like to hit, but he is also a solid defender. We all have our faults Enough with Scales and refs. I agree that both teams (except for one dude) held there composure and put up a great game. I thought that there were relatively few (compared to past MUSCBHS games) cheap shots and what was left was some pretty good lacrosse. I would imagine that both teams have some "excuses" as to why we "didnt play our best" but i think that was solid competition. Lastly, (though i have to think hard before saying it) im glad to see that CBHS has come out to play this year, putting up a great fight against McCallie. I hope that between the MBA, McCallie, CBHS, and MUS, and then other great teams out of state such as Lassiter can draw some recognition and recruiting down south by real lax schools.
  8. Yeah, Kappy, and we managed to win a lot in years past despite your ugly face... easy on the jerseys! All in jest, kaplander, that game was definately one of the most nerve-wracking-and-awesome games i have ever been a part of. I still have a headache (and its many hours since the game). Lassiter's players were really nice, good sports, even when they were down.
  9. Nope, no predictions
  10. Maybe the best way to judge the best coach from year to year is to look at tnlax.com rankings. unless you believe that is a flawed system, then it should lessen the impact of simply having a "bad year" (i believe it takes last year's rank into account). The ultimate test may be (for tenn lax) the state champs, but everyone who has been to state knows that once your at state, the responsibility lies more on the players and less on the coaches. of course, this requires the coaches' preparation of the players, but i'd say that the final game is up to the players. Thus, i would look at tnlax ratings for the "best" coach- not "nicest" or "most hospitable", but "best"

    Attack

I'll be honest, ive never heard of him. Wouldnt a truly "absoluty sick" attackman have some notoriety among other teams? I dont know, but hey, who knows!
  12. MUS pulled majority of there varsity well before the end of first half. Neither team played necessarily to the best of there ability the whole time, after all, it was a scrimmage with intent of assigning players to positions. However, both teams had players missing, both teams (i believe) started with the assumed starting line up, and the score hit 12-2 MUS before players started changing out and Burns was pulled. You can have your excuses, but most people call that an tail-whoopin. nobody wants to lose like that. And if you think that that was MBA tryin to pull a quick one on MUS, we ran nothing but basic lacrosse, with o and d plays you'd see in a junior high game. They saw nothin special. Whats more, either all the MBA players are really good actors, or they were really getting frustrated. Either way, there is no doubt that MBA vs. MUS in the real season will be quite a game. I look forward to it.

    Big Three

Let me add on one thing. Someone commented on Burns earlier. I played against Burns last weekend, and, while he still has a shot, he is definately still hobbling on his bad knee. He IS playing, but with his type of injury, i doubt he will get back up to speed this year. He only played part of the game (scrimmage), but thats partly because our field was really muddy, and it probably stressed his injury (not worth risking in a preseason scrimmage!) He talked about going to prep school to give his knee time to heal before going to play in college. Best of luck to him. The earlier arguement is not very smart. While i do have my opinions on which sport is the best, it is my opinion. No baseball player could ever convince me that lacrosse is inferior. Its pure opinion. More importantly, it doesnt matter. This is a Big Three Poll forum, not a "my sport is better" poll. frankly i dont know why one who hates lacrosse would frequent the lacrosse forum enough to rant about it.. get a life, my man!
