I don’t think NG has played up there yet. I know they have Hampton at Home, UH away and I’m almost positive Unaka Away

NG took care of Unaka pretty easily. It was close early on but they pulled away in 2nd half. This game on a neutral floor could go either way honestly. Anderson had 20 so she is getting back in the groove.

When NG played them at home in regular season, they were missing the smaller guard. Without her, they did not seem very good at all. I think you all will win and possibly by 10+. Your all's pressure will get to them.

Good info thanks!...whoever wins will have a huge test the next game. Newport grammar has a guard that could play for a lot of high schools. One of the better middle schoolers I’ve seen.

Our region ended up 1. Newport 2. Rogersville 3. west view 4. North Greene

Very true. NG has done much better when they slowed the game down and utilized Anderson and Davenport inside. I would bet that’s what they do going forward. She seems to be getting her groove back.

Possible but teams are starting to figure out to go 5 guards and run them to death. NG has had a tough time stopping teams with speed which is why SG and Hampton played them so tough. Anderson is a great shot blocker but if you can get her out in space then that’s a huge advantage. Gonna be a great next two months of basketball though that’s for sure.

I am going to assume fine. They are at full strength right now with Anderson back.

We were talking about Newport and Grandview Friday and said Grandview is probably 15 points better than Newport overall.

Have you seen Newport play ?

I honestly think Region 1 will send two teams to state. One of the more competitive years in a long time. I could also see all four teams win their first round games to.

How did Hampton look? I know they have been playing well. The east is going to come down to Hampton and North Greene. I definitely could see both squads making it to the glass house. No one else is really that good. The other two contenders could be Harriman and Oneida.

They are, especially at home. Next up is the Ladies Classic which is always a good measuring stick. Hope for an injury free tournament and some good competition to get ready for conference play.

Same here...should be a really good year for the conference. Any of those 4 teams could beat one another on a given night.

Family friend is involved with the basketball program. I do know her baby got sick recently and that has put basketball to the side for now. Not sure how serious or anything like that, but she is not planning on playing very soon.

I also thought the WG and NG girls game would be good, but NG won by 30. Not sure if anyone was out for either team but that seems like a good win on the road.
