Agree that Southside's road to the Boro is much more difficult now that the Districts and Regions have changed. Also, not only Mitchell but other Memphis teams will get better now that East won't get ALL the guys. Agree no easy road to a championship and this is always the case. Both Southside and Liberty are great schools. Southside has had more success recently but both great schools. Coach Fuller being a long tenured Coach gives the edge to Southside for sure. But the right fit at Liberty would create some excitement and momentum.

there are tons of good teams and competition at the region level will be tough. However, East will change now that Coach Hardaway is not there. At least other teams will have a chance. The right guy at Liberty could do great things.

Coach Oliver Simmons hired as Haywood County Head Coach. I like this hire. He has tons of experience and has a connection in the community because he played with Tony Delk at UK. Well, he was on the same team... He will do a good job at Haywood.

You are right. Milan is busy. Football school where Hoops is secondary. Obviously lots of athletes there but will they hoop. The only time Lexington recently went to a sub state that I can remember is back to back years when they had the big kid that went to Memphis. Other than that. They have been out first or second round of the Region. Liberty is the most appealing to me. Tons of kids there and they have championship banners. I feel Liberty is hungry for someone to come in and turn it around.

I don't know Coach Simmons but Im sure he is smart enough to play the way the talent dictates. He isn't going to play the same style he played at USJ. If he does then he deserves to be fired. However, HE WON"T. He has been around long enough to know better.

Not sure what they have coming back but 2-8 in District play and lost 9 out of their last 10 games to close out the season. Yikes

Recruiting high school players is and will always be something that takes place every year. And, just like in college, it all starts in AAU.

I don't hear about a lot of movement in Middle. Most openings are in West. I know Eagleville and Shelbyville both filled their spots. I think the Kenwood job is still open. Other than that I haven't heard.

I’d rank them Haywood, Fayette Ware, USJ, Obion, and the last 2 would be who has the best athletes. Probably Milan

If these weekend "AAU tournaments" are small it is most of the time about the money. they are not going to check ages. They just are fundraising for their school or some non profit. If you are competing in those small venues then you are gonna have some teams that are older and some teams that are younger. Just play and get better. If you are worried about how good the teams are you are playing against then you might want to look at your team not the one you are playing. Just saying
