I was misunderstood. There were a couple comments earlier about different teams. I was just wondering who the college teams were that was at the game. I'm fine talking about SS and SG for a while. I hear it was a good game. Just seeing if the college coaches were at that game instead of one of the others. Which college teams were there?

So why did Coach Dancy leave to begin with? That never made sense to me.

I think that based on what I watched in the Semi Finals. I have seen these two teams a couple times this year but not many. South Side is the deepest most skilled team I have seen this season. That is why. I know anything can happen but I just don't see South Gibson matching up.

South Side by as much as they want. This game will not be close

I'm not sure how many seniors those two teams have but they will both be good again next year unless they both graduate their top 7 players which is highly unlikely.

A great night of basketball in Lexington. First game was very close. South Gibson did not impress at all. North Side had a chance to win the game. The official who called the technical foul decided the game in that moment. The rest of the game North Side got most of the close calls and that kept the game close at times. The officiating was not good. North side is not very skilled in ball handling and shooting. They are very athletic. South Gibson did not make shots, missed a lot of free throws. With that being said it was a very entertaining game but not great basketball. Second game is a completely different story. The best game I have watched all year. Hats off to Dyersburg. They competed at a high level. South Side just has more players than Dyersburg. the bench was the difference in the game. When South Side went to the bench there really wasn't much of a drop off and when Dyersburg went to the bench the athletes just didn't match up. There were dunks, volley ball line threes, step back threes, pressure defense, etc... This game had it all. South Side is about 10 points better and won by that much. I don't see South Gibson coming close to South Side. I think South Side wins by a bunch. I am glad I made the trip to Lexington. Side Note: the atmosphere was great and Lexington did a good job hosting.

I will reserve more specific comments till tomorrow after I watch the games tonight but I stand by my predictions for tonight.

Making the trip to Lexington tonight for the Boys Semi Finals. South Gibson beats North Side in a close one and South Side beats Dyersburg in a game that is much closer than anticipated. South Gibson by 8. South Side by 14

I see the slipper didn't fit. I watched a close game with Crockett and North Side. Thought Crockett was going to win. It was a little out of control at times but an entertaining game. North Side and South Gibson will be interesting. Nobody touches South Side.

Don't follow alot of softball... You are probably right... As I said I'm reaching. Time will tell though. I only saw Lexington a couple of times this year and mention them because they are so young. Same with Westview and Chester County. anytime you can bring back almost an entire team you will be better.

I have been misunderstood. I did not mean to berate anybody. Everyone knows the competition is down is 2A hoops. My point is I don't think it is fair to compare this team to other teams because they don't control the talent level they compete against. I here all the time, would they beat past teams? That is an irrelevant conversation. they are undefeated in 2020 and deserve credit for that. Why compare them to past teams? It sort of takes away from their accomplishments in the present. I'm just saying they deserve credit for being where they are right now.

The competition is gonna have to come from somewhere else. Maybe some of the younger teams like Westview who only has one senior or chester co who didn't have any, Lexington one, but I'm reaching.

Can't argue.

South Side has a real chance to go undefeated and win the state tournament. And, they bring a bunch of kids back. They own Jackson and get almost all the hoopers in the city. Until North Side and Liberty get something going in their hoops programs it is going to be South Side and everyone else.

Some things I have seen and heard about South Side: "This team would get killed by teams in the past." "This team hasn't played anybody." "Their district is way down." AND a ton of other things. Listen. I am not a fan of any team but I watched them play in the district tournament. They are 28-0 in 2020 and that is all that matters. They are a legitimate contender to win the 2A state title. Stop comparing this team with teams of the past and give them some credit. "Where you at?"
