Ay man, w^? Yeah, this is Chase. Yeah, we're goin back to the UTM soccer camp again this year except this year we'll be freshman, juniors, and one senior. Can't believe you remembered our names so well. We're gonna need the camp this year, and bad. We're losing 7 seniors, and only getting like 5-6 freshman. I just look forward to showing up and scrimmaging though, lol. And seeing the occasional chic run by...

    3-0 Germantown.
  3. Kiddo? Hes 18, lol. Goalies are usually cocky, but are usually just crazy too.
  4. We were playing against TCA when they handballed the ball inside the box for like the 3rd time. They awarded us a direct kick inside the box, but not from the penalty mark. TCA was also allowed to set up a wall. And against Madison, we had a senior football player handball it in the box, given a red card, ejected from the game, then Madison was GIVEN a free goal. And i already explained what happened with TCA and the encroachment call.

Well, it wasnt a bad game. Their #11 scored in like the first 10 minutes. He should have had a few others, but our goalie came out and scared him on one making him shoot it off to the side of the goal. I was pretty surprised we've beat them the last two times. I just dont think of us as an offensive team. We just dont have the passing game. Our midfielders aren't up and back when they need to be. Our defense can just boot it back up, but an offense has to have passing game. But, TCA played a good game. They prolly think they got robbed in the B.O.W. game we played them in b/c our two goals were PKs.
  6. Whats some things yall do to warm up before a game or practice? Ever switch it up to keep it from being a boring routine? Just lookin for sum input.
  7. It all depends whether your reffing or whether ur playing. I've reffed for about 4 years now, and its a totally different mindset. When you're reffing, you make the calls, and then move on. You learn to block out the fans/coaches/players. As a player, you might hold that till the end of the game, or even longer. And i usually dont complain about refs for small stuff. But sometimes, if a ref would just take his time and decide, hed make better calls. Answer these easy questions for me. 1. Is a handball inside the 18/box not always a PK? (if called for the foul) Or can a indirect/direct kick be taken instead? 2. Can free points just be awarded by a ref? 3. Is it not cardable if a player consistently stands within 2 feet of the ball during a direct/indirect kick? You learn to play the game and just keep on after a call is made.
  8. naw man, i dont think so. Ill ask our coach tommorro and find out. But i highly doubt it. I was talking to another ref and told him what had happened. He said we cant get that point back. Which makes a little sense since they dont get the chance for a PK. I dunno, but thats the most crap ive ever seen.

Were you there at the game? Ive seen you posting a lot on my brothers stuff. You play? If so, wut team?
  10. Talking about your yellow card, i WISH they would have handed a few of those out at the first game we played against TCA. FOUR times in a row, on a direct/indirect kick, they would have a guy stand like 2 feet, no joke, 2 feet from the ball. And we'd ask the ref to count it off, but they'd just look at us. It was the same guy everytime to. I dunno, i ref a lot and i kno theres a big difference btwn playing and reffing. But theres so many times i see stuff liek that and cant believe it.
  11. Try having a ref give a free goal b/c one of ur players handballed the ball in the 18. We played TCA and had them handball it in the box and only get a direct kick. I mean, are these ref's on like 2 different levels here?
  12. Sheffield substitutes like every 30 seconds. And if you even look at one of their players, their on the ground faking an injury. Their the most time consuming team we've played. Not the most respectable way of winning a game.

Well, my guess for the reason they didnt give the PK is b/c they had already given us two PKs. And it really just depends on the severity of the offense to as whether or not its a PK. I was talking with JCM's players after our games and he said they won but i forget the score and who they played. Hey, we beat TCA twice, so im happy.

    Throw-in

Not to diss on the guy that posted this thread, but when you ask that and then THAT many people dont really know, they've just seen how its happened in a game, is kind of sad. Ive known that you cant score on a throw-in since i was like 4. I'll admit tho, we had a few guys on our team ask me that when we played Lexington on their "baseball field converted to a soccer field" field.
  18. Lexington tied JCS....they're thinking about state? hahahahaha
  19. Too short? Yeah, tall goalies have advantages, but being short has a DEFINITE advantage. The hardest thing for a goalie to do is get down on the ground. I kno this from experience considering my brother is a remarkable goalie. Short definitely CAN leave u lacking on some high shots, but if hes got ups. Does he?
  20. Soccer isn't about being able to beat the guy next to you down. Its about skill. If you're not tall in basketball, people usually overlook you and rightfully are b/c of the advantage of being tall. But some short ppl still bring it on the court. Yet, in soccer when size has hardly nething to do with it, has he not an even better chance?
  21. If im not mistaken, Nick is supposedly a soccer "prodigy."
  22. Naw, wuts lame is people who are bored enough to read a "lame" thread, then post nething on it at all. Its not a bad thread except that when i think of passing i dont think of how the ball actually moves but how the teams works together to provide a passing game. Yeah, ive seen a guy kick it so that it went straight then curved. Ive also seen a guy that made it curve to the right, then curve back to the left. It was an outside foot with a running start.
  23. What play are yall talkin about G? Yeah, you did have some good saves that game. Its a shame that both goals on both teams were decided by a PK.
  24. Aight, let me set the record straight on JCS, cause im tired of hearing our name keep popping up. Yes, this is our 2nd year. No, thats not an excuse. Exactly, look at Madison. JCS played a straight game with Madison till one of our Senior Football players, no soccer experience, handballed a ball in the box. The ref red carded him claiming it was an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The guy was then ejected as protocol calls for. But then the ref GAVE them a free goal. I wont go into all the rest of it, cuz i already posted a thing awhile back about it. Then, Pierre, or however u spell his name (sry man) got a fast break on the side where our guy had been ejected from and scored. Even if you counted that goal as being fair, it wud have been a 1-0 game. For being a best team, 1-0 vs JCS doesnt say a lot. But Madison did outplay us, no doubt and im more than willing to give them their props. The problem with JCS is that we dont have hardly any passing game against good teams. When we played USJ, it was pretty much just defense. Most of our players are basketball or football players. We have two players that soccer is their top sport. We also go into games thinking we're gonna win or we're gonna lose, so we dont play hard. We've had sum close games that shouldnt have been and had some good ones that shouldnt have been. A lot of teams underestimate us. Give us a few years(after my time) and well prolly be good. As far as out-right skill goes, we're lacking.
  25. Yeah, Evan's a good player, i played with him a couple of years back and his talent has only gotten better. But as far as goals go, his coach doesnt hold back. This year their coach let him score 7 points on a no-name, no-talent kind of team. Im not dissing on his abilities cuz i kno he can play, but when your scoring 7 points a game, you're obviously not playing a very good team. I mean, look at the pros, 1-0 is a common outcome.
