Willco is a tough place to be a coach. They're probably going to have more turnover in the future. Coaching pay is poor, no athletic period, subpar facilities, lack of support. Many think Willco is a destination spot, and then are rudely awakened once they start the job. Will be interesting to see who they hire.
Agree on the coaching pay and no athletic period, however, there is a lot of community support, and the facilities are at least decent. And not all Williamson Schools are equal. Brentwood, Ravenwood, Page, and Nolensville would all be places that would have a ton of interest. Centennial is interesting.

Obviously, there is not a huge WILCO coach t presence, but any word about this job? A couple of names that make sense are
Eddie Woods: Former Cane Ridge Head Coach (I think he applied last time, could be wrong)
Pat Curran: Nolensville OC (He has applied for local head jobs over the years)
Other top coordinators in the county

Will be interesting to see what he does .. I think you can have some implications of it in your playbook but it shouldn’t be your base offense in 5A ball . Look at Oakland for the proper example , they are more Multiple
They are multiple, but they base out of the Wing T. It's a matter of what you can coach, teach, and have the players execute. Every scheme has had success, and every scheme has had failures.

I’m not sure, If it was a money thing you’d think a Wilco team would’ve gotten him years ago they all have deeper pockets than Rockvale, and with the family history at HC I’m sure he was doing well
I know people on the outside think WILCO pays really well, but that is not the case. Rutherford pays better, which is why the "Couger" was interested in this job.

What fun would that be?
Lol true. Can't think of one that would leave their current Wilco school for Rockvale. I know pay is better and they have football during the day, but the Wilco life is so good.

Heard a wilco coach may be in line for the job?? Havent heard any other names at all.
I do agree with you guys that the teams they compete with may be a turn off.
Which Wilco coach? Spill the beans

Is this a job that Tygard would want? He coached there before. When was the last time ND was good? I know they had decent run a while back. Was that a fluke or is that sustainable there? Just an outside that’s curious.
Surely not. Surely Cleveland is the place he will stay at for more than two years. If not, that has to be a HUGE red flag to administrators.

It was about 1999 when then UT-Martin Chancellor Phillip Conn decided that the football program as a whole would be canceled at UTM due to the massive monetary drag it was on the university that was also in basic default itself. Near zero fan support or community involvement & a guaranteed losing season had became the norm; it was a business decision. A rather unpopular one, & it never came to fruition. (He was basically run out of town & hired at Knoxville) Today, UTM holds a fantastic team, community involvement & a very good overall program. Like it or not, Jason Simpson is the biggest reason for this. Somewhere in the mix, Westview playing home games in that stadium may have helped to save the football program at UTM as they could not build their own & filled that venue with more people on any given Friday night than the Skyhawks would all season put together at that time. It would be foolish beyond belief to think Westview is not a premium place to coach football. Athletes, community support, money, it's all there in piles. Any coach looking to coach at this school is going to have the next Simpson, play games on his fathers field at UTM while being under that microscope & have to balance one heck of a rabid, political fan base. Westview simply didn't have the size in the trenches this year they are used to playing with. They lost arguably the best LB in their region prior to season & to me, that & more added up to the difference that cost Neal his job.
Why did Neal get ran out? I'm on the outside here in middle TN, but he has a really good record there including a state championship. Did he get on the bad side of the wrong parent?

The one is the ADs good friend who has made the final two. Not sure if that is bc of friends of the program or if he can actually get the job done.
Smells like the first one. I’m not for sure, but I don’t think he’s even the offense or defensive coordinator at Gallatin.

I’m hearing rumors of a possibly a coach from Gallatin or one from East Tennessee. Not sure the names but resource has stated it’s down between those two. You would think since they got an early start on the interview process they would’ve had someone by now.
Heard the same thing. The current administration will probably go with the less qualified guy.

If the athletic program at Franklin High School were supported properly by the school board and administration they could have the best overall public school athletic program in Tennessee. The problem with Franklin and most schools for that matter is that those individuals that make the hiring decisions rarely know how to hire a successful coach. The students at Franklin are a mix of inner-city, blue collar, affluent, etc… so that all of the sports programs could be successful. It would require that all of the coaches were not only on the same page but were willing to share each others athletes.

You’re off on the demographic part. You’re describing the Franklin demographics 15 years ago, it’s now mostly affluent. Most of the blue collar kids are zoned for Centennial or Indy.

Nobody should want to work for the clown show that is Franklin High School and Williamson County’s administration. Somebody told me that they don’t even have field houses over there. All that money they got and not even a field house for the football team?
Franklin has very nice facilities, but they do have many other problems.

Ravenwood is playing a lot of Juniors and Sophomores, and sustained a couple of injuries in their last scrimmage. Alcoa should win this one despite how many kids Ravenwood has on their roster.

Hard to gauge at the moment but Its about what I expected so far, All in all not overly excited about the general feel of the program. This young team will be a work in progress for a while. It is not just a youth and experience thing it is a physical/ size development thing. They are just not as mature as some other teams are gonna be this year. I may be completely wrong, but I think a .500 season would be a stretch.
The schedule isn't as bad as it could be. They will probably lose to both Ravenwood and Brentwood, but they are the only non-region games I see them losing. Riverdale is probably the favorite to be 2nd from what I am hearing, but Blackman should beat Rockvale and siegel so that puts them about 6-4.

Thread has been quiet. How are things going? Has Blaze bought in to Coach K?

There are several good Williamson County assistant coaches with a shot in this one as well. I can confirm Coach J is also in the mix though. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
Know what Wilco assistants are in the running?

When will West TN football evolve? I encourage anyone to go watch a 3A-4A game in East TN and then watch a similar caliber game in West TN. East TN is so much more advanced on offense that it’s not even the same game. I’m not saying teams in West TN should throw it 30 times a game. You don’t have to throw it to add motion to your offense and more formations. West TN, outside of one or two schools, is playing football like it’s 1994 still. That’s the real reason that we get thumped in the semis or state championships in 3A and 4A. It’s not a talent differential. It’s better offense and QB’s (which is a whole other story).
I get what you're saying, but the truth is coaches are going to coach what they know. It's easy to say just run that offense and you will win, but coaches can't be someone they are not. I don't think the reason why they lose to Middle and east TN teams is because of the offensive schemes. I think there's a lot more to it than that.
