Final 4
Page (Red)
Franklin
Oakland
Springfield
Championship
Page vs Oakland ended in a tie after a delay in which a Page player had to be taken to the hospital.

Never mind, Indy picked up a Memphis school

I believe Indy needs a week 2 game because they got out of the Lipscomb contract.

Just saying man...no need to be smart about it.
In all seriousness, I do think y'all be will be very good this year because y'all return a lot. I said it will be between y'all and Nolensville out of the west. I applaud HC for playing Wilco teams and this year they have a good shot at beating both Brentwood and Summit.

This is 100% facts! Henry County also beat Brentwood twice at Patriot Stadium over the past few seasons. In my opinion Henry County was a better team than Brentwood and Page this past season but it is what it is.
Yeah, said y'all were 2-10 against Williamson County schools since 2015. Not 0-12, so congrats.

You could also argue we were “down” when losing to them, if we’re going to say they will be down this year. That’s all relative. If the change that was made in week 8 was made earlier in the season, Brentwood would’ve took the loss at Patriot Stadium last season.
Y'all were down 6 straight years? If If If If If If If If. If you live in hypotheticals, then HC probably wins every single game they play. Brentwood wasn't hitting their stride at the time they played either. Summit beat y'all way worse then they beat Brentwood.

What large schools (D1 5A, D16A or D2 AAA) have ever won the state running the Wing T?
So the 6a state championship was between Oakland and Summit. BOTH RUN THE WING T. Oakland uses multiple formations, but when you cut them open they are still Wing T base. Summit changed to the Shotgun Wing T which is almost exactly the same just from wing twins and other Gun T formations. So there's the answer to your question. Summit won the 5a state championship a year ago runnning it.

I wouldn't say historically. That's really only been the case the last 2 years. Before that, I know there were some really strong Independence teams in '15 and '16, but those were more or less 6A teams playing in 5A during the "super 32" nonsense. If we're bringing "historically" into the equation, I'd be taking this upcoming Henry County team over Nolensville. JMO of course.
2015 Independence. Centennial beat HC twice
2016 Independence. Brentwood beat HC
2019 Summit
2020 Summit
2021 Page ( I admit HC was the better team, but still lost)
HC returns a lot this year and I expect a good semifinal against Nolensville

Historically, Henry County is the winningest team in 5A over the last decade.
As long as they are in classifications where they don't have to go through Wilco schools. Henry County is 2-10 against Williamson County schools since 2015. Y'all know this. They should make up ground this year since they return a lot and Summit and Brentwood are going to be down from where they were last year. Once Nolo and Page go 6a, y'all will be back to dominating 5a consistently.
-
The west will be between Nolensville and Henry County. Nolo returns a ton of talented skill players and historically the best Wilco 5a school goes to the championship.

I have heard Rice has been trying to leave Rockvale the last couple of years. Is there something with the administration or what?

Rankin definitely deserves all of the praise he's been given. However, after watching the documentary, and hearing from people in the area, it's clear Nix has done a ton for that program. Along with running the defense, he has also been the strength coach, and it looks like he handled all or most of the special teams as well. It seems the best decision Rankin ever made was retaining Nix when he took over in 2006. There will be NO drop off.

No. He will have to go several several miles away to find another head coaching job. I predict he will go back out of state to escape the elephant in the room.
What is the elephant?

Any chance Diffee gets hired here?

Just on the outside looking in, but is it possible the community expectations are a little unrealistic? They won two fairly recent state championships when they were 2a in the 5 class system, and some runner ups being 3a. Outside of 2020, most of their success in 3a came before or right at the beginning of the opening of South Gibson High School (2012). I know they have talent, but does it match up to Haywood, or some of the other top 4a teams? Haywood got killed by Tullahoma btw. I know I will get crushed by some Milan fans, but just asking a fair question.

Yep, same coach. Football teams don’t have same players every year. What is your point?
That maybe it's an overreaction after one bad year. Just maybe

There are a lot of people on here talking about the kind of coach we should hire, “energetic, relates with players, etc. what they don’t know is that we had one 4 days ago! Milan’s program is not better off. You think the US is a laughing stock of the world, well Milan is the laughing stock of TN athletics. And our administration is the laughing stock of Gibson County.
Yikes! A year ago you were 3a State Runner Ups!

Is Summit a Williamson Co. school? If so I don’t think Milan could compete with them pay wise. JMO.
Yes, but the football coaching stipends are one of the lowest in the state. The teacher pay is good, but not as high as people think. They also don't do negotiable contacts. You get paid exactly where you are on the teacher pay scale and what the Head Football coach stipend is.
-
Here's a name. Brian Coleman at Summit. He's done a great job there and has probably reached his peak there with this senior class graduating. Milan can probably pay him more since they are an independent school district. He played for Bethel so not completely foreign to West Tennessee. Probably a long shot as he may be holding out for a big private school, but I don't see him staying at Summit for much longer.

Heard Lewis Co. Coach may be resigning he would be a good fit at milan since that is where he came from.
I think he's as old as Joe Biden

Curious to see how his offense is going to be. His offense and Independence's offense are poplar opposites.
I doubt he will go to that offense at Indy, but I could be wrong

True, but he'll have talent to work with. 7-6A is a grinder, but Brentwood is replacing some pieces and Summit obviously graduates alot. Won't be a bad year to get accustomed to the league
True, Ravenwood will be the team to beat, but 2nd place will be pretty open.

Interesting. Will probably have to promote from within at this point.
