  1. 5 classes would work fine for public schools, but I'm not sure what universe people are in saying we need 3 or 4. A lot of states have more than 6 classes with smaller populations.
  2. What??? The most Science Hill has scored all season is 27. The lowest scoring game for WB so far was 29 points at Heritage playing against the officials in a rivalry game. You're also not factoring in the long road trip factor. Science Hill will be making the trip down here. I'll use our home and home with Elizabethton as an example. We had a lead well into the second half when they came here and they beat the crap out of us up there. The home team has a huge advantage when the visiting team has to be on a bus almost 3 hours and then get off mentally ready to play. I'm expecting a good game.
  3. You forgot Soddy Daisy. We should definitely beat them if we're still healthy.
  4. You're flat out making stuff up. I've said repeatedly that I'm comparing ourselves to last year. We've been in every single game so far and we're 4-1 and were 0-10 last year. What is your problem honestly? And to refer to what Broadway Barbershop said, this region is still wide open. A 2-8 WB team beat a good DB team on the road in 2016. That was a DB team that won a playoff game at Smyrna in the playoffs. If you think Jefferson County can overlook WB or any team in the region, you are mistaken.
  5. My point was you guys sucked but had .500 or winning records against the likes of the teams I mentioned. Your toughest game was Sevier County and we played them as our opener every year, on top of playing Farragut, West, Bearden, Catholic, and Maryville. We also played Lenoir City who had historically good teams for their program. They went to the quarters and semis in 5A a few years. I'm just shocked that you would get off on talking bad about WB when we haven't had a winning season since 2007. Jeff County has had a lot of fool's gold my guy. You just look ridiculous and it would be hilarious if WB went up there and won at the end of the season.
  6. They scored 38 tonight on the road and that was with turning the ball over a few times. They had the lead for awhile in the first half.
  7. 1OldPatriot, Jeff County sucks most years and will go back to sucking. You mouth off a lot for a fan of a team that hasn't been relevant this century. Want to talk about our schedule when your team played teams like Cocke County and Cherokee for years when we were playing Knox West and Maryville? Tea pot, this is kettle. You're black too.
  8. The Govs had chances but turned the ball over. You can't turn the ball over multiple times on the road and win.
  9. I think Farragut should be back on the schedule for football. WB has a lot of history with Farragut and that's a game I miss a lot. I think 2014 was the last time we played them. Time flies.
  10. The thing about scheduling is you don't know how good a team is going to be when you play them because schedules are made beforehand. WB has scheduled a lot of "winnable" games over the years only for those teams to be really good when we played them. In the last decade alone, we have played Mo East, Clinton, and Anderson County when they were really good and they weren't when we scheduled them.
  11. The way I see it is the Govs have had a consistent identity thus far. They score points, they get key stops, they get pressure on QBs, and they generate turnovers. The Govs have never been so consistent even against bad competition. That's why in years past we'd do stuff like follow up a big win with a historically bad loss. My point is you can't just discount a team's success because of the teams they have played so far. A team that scores a lot of points consistently probably has a pretty good offense for one thing.
  12. I don't look at Jeff County as an unwinnable game. Sorry! We have beaten you guys several times in the last decade or so and there were several more close ones where we could have very easily won. We last won at Jeff County in 2014 under Ridge if I'm not mistaken. And we have a tradition of surprising DB here and there. Again, the Govs are 4-0 for the first time in years and are averaging about 35 points a game. I hope teams just look at our schedule and take us lightly.
  13. A lot of people have minimized WB's success thus far because of our schedule. I can partly understand that, but this team is 4-0 for the first time since 2007 and we have been averaging about 35 or 40 points a game. That alone should make region teams take us seriously.
  14. There is a lot of football left to be played, but I am confident the Govs can compete with all the region teams if we stay healthy.
  15. The Govs are 4-0 for the first time since 2007. A win at West Ridge next week would give the Govs their first 5-0 start in program history and more importantly it would put the Govs at 2-0 in region play.
  16. The Govs are 3-0 and have competed well against Jeff County in our up years.
  17. Called it. And I never doubted that we would make the plays to win at the end.
  18. Good win for the Govs! 3-0! And we overcame Heritage's home cooked officiating.
  19. The Govs were up 35-7 before giving up a few scores late. Last Friday was extremely hot and we don't have much depth and that was probably a factor in that. In other words, they were gassed. And it's hard to keep playing as focused when you are up by 28 points.
