Milan is in so deep with the T$$AA that they are always taken care of and set up for success.

The paper champions from Hohenwald and the paper tigers from Milan.

No wonder BPM was/is so defensive of Hohenwald! Lol

  2. One needs to look at tradition when deciphering this. With both Riverside and, to an extent, Chapel Hill not in Hohenwald’s region, that region was set up perfectly for the paper champions. However, who would have thought Loretto would run roughshod over that region?

Also, we all know Hohenwald typically only plays one decent to good team a/each year and, is at best, 50/50 against them. Traditionally, if they face two good to decent teams in a given year (last year was an anomaly) they are never better than 50/50. They lost to undefeated Loretto and then slammed MTP. Therefore, if they are back to Hohenwald of old, Waverly should win this one. If they are back to the traditional Hohenwald, they’ll be bounced by the second round.

So, until next Friday nights games are completed, we won’t know for sure. But, speculation is exciting.

You get responses because you take shots at kids. Your a bum. Plain and simple. Oh and you never answered my question. Who is on the Lewis Co. football team? (For the 987th time)

First of all, *you’re, not your.

Second, just stick to (your) paper tigers and worry about choosing the easiest classification for the next reclassification.

They are not that good man just saying.

Maybe. But, undefeated and not only did they beat down the perennial paper champions from Hohenwald but they evidently put it to Waverly last night. And, it’s not like Waverly has not had some success over the years.

    Yeah, well, football now, too.

Might want to add in football, now.

Well, you just might be wrong there, homie. Seems like I do elicit responses, just as yours.

Undefeated on the season thus far and coming off of a major thrashing of number six and formerly undefeated power house Lewis County, it is safe to say that Loretto is BACK!

Can't wait to see this weeks rankings when they are released! Good luck to the Mustangs the rest of the season!

Loretto definitely seems better than recent years. Good for the players, coaches and community. Keep it up young men.

    His year.

Told everyone reading and keeping up with this topic and following me, that Loretto is BACK!

After that beat down of one time undefeated Hickman Co. and, what must have been just an absolute and unequivocal shellacking of undefeated and highly rated MTP by Hohenwald, Loretto is most definitely BACK!

Third round playoff rematch between Loretto and Hohenwald is going to be fire! May even be the defacto state championship game!

I told everyone weeks ago that Loretto is back!

They’re beating everyone! Evidently, thst beat down of perennial Hohenwald was just the beginning!

Now, I don’t know Loretto’s history (long term anyway) but I’m betting this year is even better than those Butch Toner years.

  6. I’m not sure how much of a home field advantage this is going to be. It’s supposed to be close to 60 degrees but not wet. I think our running game is going to be strong. If Centennial loads the box inside, I look for quick hits over the middle or speed around the ends. We do have versatility at RB and a pretty good TE.

  7. Bump:

If Waverly wins this Friday night and Lewis and MTP both win out, it is going to be interesting breaking this tie. I would venture to say that due to Loretto beating Hohenwald earlier in the season, Hohenwald’s ranking would be higher. Now, I haven’t looked at each teams opponents records to see which would get the nod (according to @Southtowner’s stated rules earlier).

With two weeks still remaining, who has who in the 1-4 playoff slots?

Then, looking at the other region, are there teams from the West that R5 would rather face (higher playoff placements vs lower playoff placements)?

    Region 6

    Centennial (7-1 3-0)*

    Page (7-1 3-0)*

    Nolensville (7-1 3-1)*

    Hillsboro (5-3 1-2)

    James Lawson (3-5 0-4)#

    Glencliff ( 2-5 0-3)

The only match up in this region this week is Glencliff going out of region to play Mt Juliet Christian.  Two weeks will be the region  championship  game between Centennial and Page.

Technically this is not accurate, if Page beats Centennial (Week 9), and Nolensville beats Page (Week 10) there will be a 3 way tie for first.

Love the post though and excited about playoffs!

That week is here, now! Great football for Middle Tennessee!

  9. Big region game leading to what could be the defacto region title if the Patriots win and then beat Nolensville next week. If Centennial wins, they will most likely be regional champions.

Our defense is stout and, for the most part, the reason for most of the wins, especially of late. Our LB core is some of the best in the state. The DL is good and our secondary is shut down. On offense, we move the ball very well and like the ground but, will put it in the air. We have two Jr’s that are plug and play and can bounce outside and take it the length of the field. Our Sr is the workhorse and does not mind putting his head down and sticking it up the middle!

Don’t know a lot about Centennial but do know since they have moved back to 5A, they have been doing extremely well.

I’ve seen you do the same !! Even talk bad about a kid that went to West middle, ended up at Liberty. You evidently taught the kid at West middle. I know you know exactly the kid I’m talking about. I can go find the post tomorrow if I need to. Hypocrite

You just don’t learn do you? You should probably just give it up. You will never be able to confer what I say into what you want it to be. The above quoted post just ruined any credibility you needed related to that.

Also, Just should just stick with your paper tigers over there in West Tennessee and try to figure out the easiest classification to jump to for the next realignment.

Lewis County is on a BYE this week — wait till Pizz hears about their record… they haven’t won a game!

Yep, need that extra week of practice to prepare for a football game against a girls basketball school’s football team.

Was it year before last when Summertown upset Hohenwald?

You just agreed with him. Evidence that you are too stupid to know he was talking about your actions in a negative way. Lol. Anyways.. care to answer my question yet or will you keep deflecting. Truthfully, everyone knows the answer and your continuous deflection proves it.

So, let me get this straight: I am so in your head that you have become single sourced in your obsession of me that you cannot see simple sarcasm with the "1000%" post?

All that you have done is open up the knowledge that Milan is a classification dodger. So, I'm going to give you the moniker of Dodger. No wonder you are so defensive of Hohenwald. Where they dodge competition during the season, you guys completely change divisions! LOL This is crazy, but humorous. I'm wondering if this means Milan is "paper champions" too?

Gonna mention Covington and not Dburg.

My bad. I just don't know enough about West Tennessee football to understand who's who and who's dominant. Case in point; I just now (as of yesterday) realized what others have hinted to in that Milan transverses classification to dodge competition. After looking up their schedule history yesterday, I saw a lot of season ending games against Covington.

Now I understand BPM's obsession with Hohenwald. Similar in that they seek out less competition when it's appropriate in differing classification. However, after looking at some of those schedules, I don't think West Tennessee gets enough credit for how competitive it is, across the board, in football! My guess is that is due to lack of information trickling here to Middle Tennessee.

Who do we believe will make it to the 4th round after these two regions duke it out?

I think the front runner has to be Huntingdon, but you never want to run into Frosties boys come playoff time. It appears to also seem like Lewis County, Milan, or Loretto could be in the running.

Will definitely be interesting to watch!!!

May have been placed in the wrong thread but good summation none the less. Though I do not know much about the teams of R5 and R6, for the most part. However, looking over the years on CoachT's schedule records, it would seem that Huntingdon is dominant year in and year out. So, that leaves many questions; is Riverside as good as last year? Is Loretto a one hit wonder this year or was that win over Hohenwald just a fluke and they will come down to earth? They still have Waverly and MTP to finish the season. Was MTP just off when they were drummed by Hohenwald and, what about Waverly? They seem to have up and down years. Is this an up year for them? They were drummed by MTP and the only (quality) win they have is against Fairview and that doesn't say much.

I say it comes down to another semifinal game between Riverside and Huntingdon.

    Here's your answer BPM.

Football (sports in general) can't really be discussed without some criticisms...what we all need to remember is that kids read this stuff too and that if you wouldn't be comfortable looking a 15 year old in the eye and telling them something, you probably shouldn't hit "submit reply" and put it out there for them to see. I'm old school in my ways, partly because I had coaches who really dressed us down for effort, for preparation, and for mental mistakes. We got yelled at and punished for play that the coaches knew were beneath what we could do, but we understood that it was for our benefit, and some of the hardest to please were/are still the most loved by the team. That's completely different than slinging mud at every opportunity toward a particular team for no fault of their own, week after week, and season after season after season. What makes it even worse is that they're not only called out for failure but slandered for their success.
