I'll finally get to see the D-B girls tonight and tomorrow. Bearden tomorrow will be brutal. I believe they have one of the top players in the country, a 5* getting multiple D1 offers.

A good friend of mine was their only decent player the last couple years. She is now gone and playing at Lee's McRae. I doubt you'll have anything to worry about with the Sprangs.

Seen that Oak Ridge and Maryville are both in the Arby's this year. Hopefully D-B will get to play one or both sometime during the tournament. Excited to see the Cats and Rebels.

I will see South Greene on December 1, they are coming to Kingsport. We return the favor later on in the season.

We're only playing two games in that this year on Monday and Tuesday and done after that. Very strange. But I've not been a big fan of that tournament anyway since it doesn't have a true bracket. I'm at North Greene as we speak for the D-B boys game, but the girls are playing Jellico currently. North Greene girls look pretty good as always. Up 40-14 currently at the half.

Dobyns-Bennett hit 10 3's the other night in beating Grainger by 30. D-B has everyone back from last year's team, but were the 1 team in Region 1-4A who didn't make the region tournament last year. The 30 point win surprised me, but maybe Grainger isn't very good? We play Webb tonight in Knoxville, I am assuming that will be a little stiffer of a challenge.

Long way to go, but watching the game last night I would agree with him right now. Definitely not the team we had the last two years. A 51 point win over Volunteer may look nice from the naked eye, but Volunteer lost all five starters from last year's state tournament team and was, to put it frank, not very good. As he said, the conference is very weak this year. West Ridge lost to Cocke County last night at home, Boone lost their Mr. Do It All. Crockett dropped down a classification and I think the Hill stayed mainly intact, but should only see marginal improvement this year. Good news is with Crockett dropping down, nobody is eliminated before the region tournament this year. Will we get better as the season goes along? Of course. Will we get good enough to make it to the glass house? Only time will tell, but definitely need a lot of improvement over last night for sure.

Do the Tribe have any chance at pulling the upset in this one?

Sadly (for me at least) I hear Duke coach Mike Elko is in line for the State job. I've thoroughly enjoyed Duke football this season. Would hate to see coach Elko leave for Lansing.

Just curious... who will win 2A in Virginia? Never mind... Riverheads. Forgot they moved up this year. Union should get to the championship game though. Radford may be the only question out of the West. Union would have beat D-B last week the way we played.

It's crazy that the first games, for us at least are November 14. I assume it's that way for everyone though.

Tale of two D-B teams... If they play like they did against Willy B, they beat the Hill by 7. If they play like they did against Crockett, they lose by running clock. Would be nice to have a home game.... going to Duke/Wake Forest on Thursday November 2. Would hate a trip to Knoxville or Chattanooga area on Friday, November 3.

No sir. Whoever loses Science Hill and D-B goes to the loser of Bearden and Bradley Central.

Glad we survived this one. But we played horrible tonight. Very uninspired and lackadaisical. A performance like tonight next week and the Toppers will be mercy ruling us on our home field. But since it is Johnson City, according to the @WaCoJaCorule of thumb, we'll probably play better next week since we aren't playing a non playoff team. Side note. That's my only trip to Jonesborough this year since Crockett isn't on the basketball schedule this season.

I was nice and gave Crockett one TD in my picks on TriCitiesSports.com this week. I gave Boone one as well... Lol If Crockett scores, hope that Story kid has something to do with it. I know @Pioneers1982 would be proud if that would occur.

Any chance at all this game gets moved up to Thursday because of the weather? I hope not, cause if it's Thursday I'll be unable to go. Saw where Tennessee High and West Ridge already decided to move up to Thursday though.
