Thanks for the insight. Was just curious as you’re obviously more connected to Memphis HS football than we are. I feel confident, but know anything can happen on any given Friday.

Dyer Co is much improved, but Kirby is no slouch. I say 28-20 in favor of the Choctaws, but that’s a complete guess.

Give us some background on the Roadrunners please. They must be pretty good if you see us only winning by 14. The only way I see that being the case, is if their defense is extremely stout. I don’t see our defense giving up more than two scores, so for us to only win by 14, means they held our offense in check. My initial thoughts are something like 35-13.

Being played at Northwest.

Goodness, what a mess. Those teams can go from winning their region to barely making the playoffs. I love the parody though, that’s what makes high school football so great.

There’s a chance the game is moved to Fortera Stadium due to damage at NW. I kind of hope it is. I might make the trip then.

We’re on the same page I think, minus a score on both sides. I think we win easily, but I think we probably give up a cheap score or two in the second half.

I do think it’ll be a blowout, but I also see it being similar to the Northeast game with us resting several people early, and maybe they score a couple of cheap ones. I’m going to say 41-20 BigRed.

I actually agree with everything you said. I too have been puzzled as to why 1 hasn’t been on the field more on offense. Maybe it’s because throwing isn’t a huge priority right now and he’s needed much more on defense? He does usually cover the other team’s best receiver. Maybe he’s not in shape enough to play both ways? I don’t know the answer, but he’s definitely our best deep threat. I wish we would be a little more balanced all the time like we were last night. I understand why weren’t not, with how many quality backs we have, but the young QB can sling it, if we can just catch it consistently. He threw a couple last night that you might say were under/over thrown, but we also had several drops. The offensive line has come a long way since the start of the season. Part of the problem with the lack of pressure without blitzing, is 99 is getting double teamed most every play, and the guys that are getting free just aren’t making the play. If teams are going to use an extra blocker on him, we have to be able to get someone through the line and disrupt things. Just my two cents as well. I’ve been watching Henry County and football in general for many moons, and I still think this team has a chance to make a deep run in the playoffs. Time will tell.

40-12 AND we didn’t play well at all. In any facet of the game. It was a good time to have one of these games, especially coming off a bye. You’ll see a different team next week at Northwest.

Let’s just hope the team is more focused on these next couple of games than we as fans are LOL. I really like this team, I think we’re a semifinal team all day. With the right plan and a little bit of luck, I think they can make it back to Cookeville. Speaking of, I really wish they’d move the championship games back to MTSU. Much easier commute for the majority in the state, outside of the east side.

Last chance to make gate money that the TSSAA doesn’t take as well. I’m sure that played a part, as money always does. Not cheap to run a program as good as ours.

Henry County really shouldn’t be tested for several weeks barring something unforeseen happening. NE always has a stable of athletes though, and we all know anything can happen on Friday nights. Hoping the bye didn’t kill our momentum, but instead gives us fresh legs to close out the region this week and make a playoff run. Would like to see the reserves playing by the start of the second half.

If our bye week had fell a week later, I’d drive up and see that one. I think it may be the best game in the state this week. Will for sure be keeping an eye on it Friday night.

He seems to be a good coach, and has done well in Gallatin. Really excited for the playoffs. How do you feel about the Gallatin vs Beech matchup?

Sounds like a special player. He and 25 will be big time players for us. Watch out for 7 from Grove too, that kid is a good football player.

Heard great things about him this year. I know he was a qb at Grove, but what position does he project at in the future? Sounds like someone we need to get the ball to that could be a weapon.

Ha. No, there was a bunch of drama surrounding their drone at Henry County the other night. Then they posted about it on social media. Just a subtle jab from a HC fan.

I think Germantown pulls this one out. Their drone could be the difference in the game.
