Hail merry......QB dropped a dime to the back pylon vs 1 on 1 coverage! A hail merry is a jump ball around multiple defenders......Was a great throw and catch! Beech dropped the ball on that coverage for sure.

That throw.......great ball placement and GREAT catch! Powell is so young. Pretty much all skill guys and QB are sophomores! Gonna be a fun 3 years for them.

Powell would of hung 50 on them if there wasn't the rain delay for an hour. it was 14-3 and Powell was driving again! Beech got lucky that the game got delayed. Powell had all the momentum!

That rain delay last night killed Powell's momentum. They were going to hang 50 on Beech if they didn't have that delay. Beech got lucky.

Powell vs Beech is streamed tonight as well.

Powell only has 64 kids on the team period.

Should be a great first game to watch. I just don't think Beech is going to be able to keep up offensively with Powell. Powell is to explosive on offense. Beech def. needs to pay stall ball, or it will be a long drive to back home.

Ya it kind of is a stupid rule for this year for sure. Im guessing they they are thinking less players traveled lowers chances of positive cases. Who knows really?

Beech would be hard pressed to score more than 14, based on there offensive style. Beech defensively struggles against the pass, and Powell throws the ball A LOT. Should be good game, but again I don't think Beech can keep up solely based on there offensive scheme.

Ya when teams travel to there away game they are only allowed to bring 60 players. It is a TSSAA Covid ruel.

For Knox County schools that is how it is going to be all year. Home team is going to have a MAJOR advantage when it comes to fans. Away teams are only going to get 150 tickets to sell. Going to be a weird year for sure.

Are Beech fans really going to travel 2 hours or so to put 200 people in the stands?

Powell with players from both teams, bands, cheerleaders, concessions, gate workers, and fans averaged 6,000 people at home games last year. I was under the impression that Knox County was giving Powell somewhere around 2000 tickets for the home team, and 150 for the away team.

Bearden got the "case" of the West and Maryville HS Covid.......No one on team has Covid from what I have read or heard. So for them to use this as an excuse is TERRIBLE!

Agreed....if Beech can control the clock that will make all the difference. Powell's defense and especially the front four don't play both ways. So that is a good thing for sure. So wearing them down may not happen. Powell will throw the ball, and throw it often! Powell is loaded at WR. They go at least 8 deep at WR, and all can flat out play. Most HS teams don't have multiple good cover corners. Powell will line up 5 wide and air it out. Should be an interesting game to watch. Like I said earlier, if Powell gets up early it's over, because Beech will not and can not throw the ball at all! And or score very quickly.

Just saw some Beech footage from last year vs Shelbyville. Beech NEVER throws the ball......lol They run a form of the wing T offense. If Powell gets up early, they will blow the doors off of Beech! 2 different teams. Powell is gonna air it out, and score quickly. Beech is gonna run, run, run, run, run,......heck they are not even taking a bus to the game, there just gonna run...lol All in all it should be an interesting game to say the least. It will come down, to who can work the kinks out quicker. IMO

Throwing the ball will be the least of there worries. The QB is as solid as they come for a rising Sophomore. The defense is really the unknown. Powell front 4 on D is going to be the concern. If Beech throws the ball a lot? Powell will be fine. But if they run more than they throw, it could be a long night for Powell.
