  1. Howard reminds me of Ty Chandler when he was at MBA. Bigger than you think with quick twitch....deadly combo.
  2. Standing by my original post. I will be shocked if the Baylor RB breaks a long run since a loaded box will force him East/West....those 40 times are DBs, safeties and LB...they will close quickly. This is not your same Ensworth team of old. Roc slings it all over the field. I don’t think Baylor safeties keep up. They will score 30+ as they have done every game... I don’t think Baylor will match it. it’s my opinion/prediction and you know what the say about those...
  3. Enjoy the game. Hopefully Baylor brings a good crowd and make a good game an electric atmosphere. No argument from me on Howard being elite. I got to see Roberts with JP2 the week after Howard to compare and contrast. Elite as well, but a different RB. His style is more Le’Veon Bell type in my opinion with the patience of Job.
  4. Booger- I respect Ensworth, but I am a Father Ryan fan! I don’t know about fastest of the fast for the Baylor RB....look at these times! https://twitter.com/coach_n_johnson/status/1153314922815787009?s=20
  5. I’m going to agree with Booger here. As I said earlier in the thread, the RB and a few others are quick as a hiccup, but I hope you are able to attend the game Spartan4life. Ensworth has 10 players on the roster that are sub 4.7 speed! Several of these guys are 6’1 or better. Ensworth has a top notch conditioning program which is on display for you guys in the east. That #9 for KC is a product. as far as the 40 times, this isn’t a handheld stopwatch. Ensworth has the lasers that come up through the turf...you know...like colleges so I tend to believe the reported times.
  6. Couldn’t agree more. I’d love to see him at Ryan. The kids really respond to him. He isn’t the only one as Marty B. is good as well!
  7. This is EN’s best chance at a W. As long as they stay quiet, humble, and go play ball. I went to the game 2 years ago when EN players posted a lot of trash talk about PC on Twitter and Instagram. 35-0 on their home field! By the way, I was there cheering for EN! Never give the other team material to post in the locker room. I see the EN coach on Twitter now....don’t know if he was active back then, but if he was then he should have known better. I will respectfully disagree with the notion of EN HC being good. All of these are my opinions: no discipline- how many personal fouls this year? No fundamentals- just look at the tackling....loading up for the highlight hit vs wrapping up several players out of position- this opinion is shared by a good friend who happens to coach in College.
  8. I know that only 2 were offered, but all three are straight DAWGS! Hoping nothing but the best for these young men. The piggies better get another scholarship!
  9. JRB- thanks for the painful memories! At least, prior to this year, those games were close often coming down to the last minute. This year, JP2 could have scored again late in the 4th, but were nice and let the clock run out.
  10. Father Ryan started their program LAST year. JP2 started their program THIS year. There are some JP2 freshmen that played....driving from Hendersonville and Gallatin through Nashville traffic at 5pm to get kids to practice. I don’t know if you live in the area, but this is not an enviable task....I guessing 1 hour commute one way. Had the Irish not started the program last year, no kids in the Catholic middle schools would have played. Only 2 schools in the Diocese would have fielded a team.
  11. Father Ryan has 1 freshman and 2-3 sophomores starting on the O-line. Those sophomores started as freshmen.
  12. ND should have stayed with the Nashville diocese like they were originally 100 yrs ago, all of the Nashville facilities are nice...
  13. East Nashville has the most talent on the list in my opinion. Unfortunately for them, PC coaching staff is far superior...again in my opinion. PC also does a great job of getting their players looks from schools, both FBS and FCS. EN has scholarships too, but the caliber of schools is different. Before it is said, yes I know PC co-ops with MLK, but I would bet a house note that those numbers aren’t in the double digits. The fact that Vandy seems to offer a scholarship to a PC player every year, they must be hitting the books too. Great job by that staff.
  14. Father Ryan JV team beat JP2 JV 48-8 at JP2. Team is a good mix of freshmen and sophomores. They have talent in the school with more on the way. The feeder club team hasn’t lost a game: this year or last year. They are beating MBA, BA, Ensworth, CPA, BGA, etc. The majority of the Father Ryan freshman were on that team. Since the Ryan JV team hasn’t loss this year, those freshmen don’t know what losing is (until they see the varsity on Friday nights). While they aren’t playing on Friday’s yet, it gives me hope for the future. A winning attitude in the locker room has a big impact on the culture of a team.
  15. Question for Da Haven folks....does that LB trio go to Arkansas? Also, is the Memphis sports Zone show any good? Been watching it on YouTube for a couple weeks.
  16. Naw....we’ll just piss off 85% of the CoachT board and bring Rankin back to the area...lol.
  17. Sheryl Crowe was the first concert. This is Nashville so I assume they will have other big names. I doubt southern rockers or rappers....this is still Libscomb...college had hit squads for years that checked local bars to make sure no students were there. I’ll just have my beverage in the car and listen to the radio!
  18. That big tackle blocks out the sun!
  19. I couldn’t agree more. Meanwhile, one of the “Top 50 Nashville Area all-time players (according to the Tennessean) leaves BA to become DC at BGA. He is not only alumni, but has 2 kids in middle school that could be game changers for the Irish. WHAT??!!!!
  20. JP2 and Father Ryan have to adhere to diocese rules....BGA and others do not. It isn’t a TSSAA thing...diocese thing.
  21. Spot on assessment. And with Libscomb cheaper than everyone in the area ($5-$15k), a former NFL QB as coach, and new facilities, “A change is coming”
  22. The line play and the RB is why I picked them. Defense is good enough for a grind out game in my opinion.
  23. Baylor definitely has speed at WR. Had the QB been more accurate, they would have had 3 more TDs on Father Ryan easy. I look forward to this game as well and hope both teams come out of it healthy.
