Why not just schedule decent competition during the regular season?

Nah, it’ll never be good enough. Stop the hemorrhaging now before we get too deep I mean, we’ll never be the program Page has so why try.

By the way, where can one purchase season Page tix? Do you offer parking passes as well? Not wasting any more money on these regular season paper champs.

You are 100% right Pizzpatriot2, If you can not win the State Championship you have not done anything.

Just shut program down now. Call off weight lifts and conditioning. Send buses back to bus lot. Doze field house, weight room and bleachers off in the hollow behind and extend the baseball stadium. Pave over the field and make more parking. Sell scoreboard and play clocks to Perry County and goal posts for scrap. Fire Sharp and his staff.

I’ll call school board now, I’m sure they’ll agree. Thanks for all your advice @TRamrod38, @Pizzpatriot2and @WingT08

    Time to ball!

Honestly, I haven't even seen the schedule yet. My son hasn't played since middle school so we kind of lost interest without having one playing or friends with one playing.

Now with the Wuhan plague floating around, they're going to limit the crowd so much, it will definitely strain the program financially.

Last I checked, Trousdale, Mt. Juliet, South Pitt, and yes, Oakland, all run the Wing-T. So maybe its not the offense.

You may be right, but you might check the map to see the pool of kids those schools benefit from geographically, as well. They pipe sunshine in down here

Sweathog55, you know you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Get rid of the problem for once and forever. I have said it for over 25 years Lewis Co. will never win a state championship under Coach Sharp because of his coaching style.

You may be right, however, I'm not going to get on here and bash a man that has dedicated so much of his life to this town and program. As I said on an earlier post, not everyone sees what he's done for so many of his players, especially the ones that faced difficult times at home.

You, my friend, let people like @Pizzpatriot2 and @WingT08 infect your brain with their trolls, and you swallowed their hook, line and sinker all the way up to the rod tip. That shows the type of class a person has when he/she can hide behind a computer and run someone in the ground, calling them a "LOSER."

You say your son won't play for him next season, so that either means:

    1. You're shopping for another program...one in which you'll be lucky to find that makes sense logistically, financially, and most important, one where he'll start (being a senior). Otherwise, you will be cutting your nose off to spite your face.

    -OR-

    2. You're looking to get Coach Sharp's money (job). Which I GUARANTEE, you lack the stroke in this town to do.

Actually, this post is spot on. Two decades ago when teams were more about grinding it out offensively, we didn’t have to worry about running clocks. By the second and especially third rounds, teams are passing the ball.

The other half of the problem is scheduling. Simply put, LC just doesn’t play anyone of any substance during the regular season. That is why they are always so over rated and their records are a farce!

I’m not trying to bash Sharp one bit but wouldn’t you think it’s time for a change? I’m just asking you or a Lewis County fan. My question is not for bashing him.

I am not a coach, and will never claim to be. However, I believe that the wing T style of offense, while great in its own right, is outdated. While it is hard to defend, it is not designed to play from behind. You have to line up, smash mouth, score, repeat. I know it has a proven track record, but with other programs thinking outside the box, you are at a disadvantage if you wind up on the short side of the scoreboard.

So to answer your question Vandy, I believe it is time to change the scheme, not necessarily the schemer...

They see me rollin They hatin. Lul.

I’m tired of seeing these paper champs year in and year out. Gonna come watch Page next fall. Can’t wait as a matter of fact.

Oh sorry fellas, I must be on the wrong thread. Couldn’t find ANYTHING about Page in the 5A threads. Their coach (the clown you see rollin in the gif above) seems to spend 23 out of 24 hours everyday worrying about LC. Maybe Page could do better than 5-8 with a COVID win and a 1st round exit next year if he spent a quarter of that time coaching his boys

And just exactly how does Sharp field a team that's "supposed to" beat everyone in the region every year???

Haven't you heard @tradertwo? We get those cream of the crop transfers from the big towns like Hampshire and Flatwoods over here. I believe a 5 star standout is rumored to be moving here from the Brushy community this year.

Look, I have been a defender of Coach Sharp against this nonsense from the beginning, but you're stretching the narrative in the other direction to say that he's done "more with less...". LC has a solid program, a great tradition, community support, and a track record that says that he deserves better than to be constantly slandered by some nameless, faceless coward on social media. What he hasn't done is win a game that he shouldn't win, in a "win or go home" situation, or take them farther in the playoffs  than anyone expected. There are a select few programs statewide who can claim to be as consistently good for decades as LC, and that alone is special... Sharp gets the kids out to play, instills good sportsmanship and work ethic, teaches the game, and wins games because he does the aforementioned things well. His program and kids have never caused anyone to question their ethics or morals, the facilities are legendary good, even the fans are great, and Sharp deserves credit for most of that. If that's not good enough for high school football fans, then yes he should be fired, but everyone had better cross their fingers that the next guy can deliver as much... just don't get excited and counter their garbage with untruths... it isn't necessary.

Well said, my friend. I played for him and my son just wrapped up his senior year under him as well. When you constantly bash a program and a coach who has done so much for this school and this community, you show your true colors. It’s very easy to hide behind a website handle and flap your gums. People don’t see what Coach Sharp has done for so many young men in this town that have faced uncertain circumstances growing up due to broken homes or parents that didn’t give a second thought about them. What was that saying about glass houses and stones?
