I don’t have a score prediction. Everyone knows SP has been smoking every 1A team they play. I am excited to see how our boys stack up. I expect us to show up unafraid and give it all we got. People have counted us out a lot already this season. Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Final 4: Clarkrange, Summertown, Gibson Co, Loretto Anyone of them could win it. I think there is a noticeable gap to the next tier of good teams. The only other one I think could be in the argument is Pickett Co.

Looking at all the predictions so far of a big SP victory are justified if you just look at score and common opponents. City is definitely an underdog here...but that’s nothing new. There have been doubters and haters all season and here we are in the championship game. Something I will say about our boys is they aren’t scared or intimidated. They believe in themselves and each other. We may get beat but we won’t back down. If we are going to have a chance, we have to play the cleanest game we have played all season. Turnovers and penalties will have to be limited. Not sure how the weather will factor in. Whatever happens it is a blessing to be in this position. These boys have overcome the odds many times to get here. We’ll find out Friday if they can do it one more time. I’m proud of them either way. State For Tate.

I think you are right but I might swap Franklin and Shelbyville.

I saw a video of one of our boys score a touchdown on the Moore County side. He walks over to hand the ball to the ref by the pylon. There are grown men standing on the track 20 feet away screaming at him like they are going to come out there and fight him. And for what? What did this kid do to these grown men that would make it acceptable for them to treat him that way? And you yourself called us the ghetto/hood tigers after the first game and then later deleted it. We are not perfect but I have personally heard unprovoked racist and horrible things said to and about our boys at multiple places. These classless acts were from people wearing baby blue. People don’t like that they dance when the music is playing or try to pump up the crowd. People don’t understand a culture that is different than theirs so they automatically try to tear it down. It’s unfortunate thing our boys have to deal with. I am proud of them for not responding to the “adults” on the other sidelines.

We can do either. We have several good backs and the QB has been lighting it up the last couple weeks so it could go either way. What does Lake Co do?

Another great game between MC and Fayetteville. Both teams played well and the atmosphere was electric. I saw people from Huntland, Cornersville, Lincoln County, Loretto and several other places there to watch the game. I expect it to be this way with these 2 for several years to come. Congrats on a great season to Moore County. I mean that in all sincerity.

I’m not sure how we’ll play it Friday night. We are usually a run heavy team. We do have a couple of really good receivers and our QB had his best game of the season last week so who knows. I think the majority of teams in single A rely on the run as their primary offense. I think that plays to Moore County’s favor because it’s hard to stick with it when MC scores every possession and you’re constantly playing catch-up.

If they shut down basketball, a lot of the top players will start travel ball season early...like day after they make the decision to shutdown.

I think they lost 2 girls that would have been seniors. One starter and one that came off the bench. I heard they picked up a senior transfer though.

Parker transferred to Moore Co from Tullahoma?

Don’t know exact reasons. The current staff is in their second year so none of these guys played for them when they were here previously.

City had 4 transfers who were in the City system, left and went to Lincoln Co and then decided to transfer back at different times last year. They all had to sit out until they became eligible at different points in the season per TSSAA.

Amen to that! I was just thinking how funny it is that even as we get older, everything still turns into a pi$$ing contest. Let’s enjoy the fact that we have 2 of the best teams in the state about to do battle on Friday night. This is what football is all about and why these boys work so hard. Let’s give them the spotlight this week. I think they’ve earned it.

I expect the same and hope you are right. I think this is some of the best football this area has seen in a while and when you factor in how explosive MC and City can be, it makes it even more exciting. I think both coaching staffs are great. Both fan bases love their teams. Both expect to win. I will be screaming loud for City but if MC wins, I hope they go all the way. Gonna be a heartbreaker for whoever loses and something the winning side will always remember. I think I may camp out on the hill out front this week to be first in line Friday.

Yes. They have it roped off for both teams to have plenty of room but the rest is open. Only place off limits is grass inside the track.

It will be there but you better get it before halftime. I hope we do pack the house on both sides. Last game was the best single A game I have ever seen. Hoping this one is the same with no injuries. May the best team win and go take care of business out west and represent R5 in Cookeville.

Defense played great both games. Running game was similar to last time. The QB was great last night. Put it on the money almost every time and made several big plays when we put ourselves in bad positions. I have been a proponent of running more wildcat with essentially 2 RBs sometimes. We tried that some with little success. I guess that’s why no one has asked for my resume for open coaching gigs. To Huntlands credit they played really tough all night. It was a game in the 4th quarter.

I think our cutoff for the Huntland game was 1600. Assume it will be similar this week.
