This is a win win for me however i feel like Haywood will have the edge. The tomcat defense is tough especially against the run. Covington will have to pass in this game to have a chance, and more than just a couple surprise passes. The tomcat offense will be too much in my unprofessional opinion. Either way, Go Tomcats and Chargers!!

I have a question for those that know the history of both Haywood and Covington. In 1971 Covington played in the semis as well as the Championship game. Haywood had a 8-3 record that year but no playoffs. They were both AAA. What is the reason for Haywood not playing in the playoffs? Did only the region champ make playoffs at that time?

Lol. Lucky guess! Not sure. I mentioned earlier I think it will be a 7 point game. If it is a blow out, I think the tomcats will be on top. I can’t see the Tomcat D allowing a blowout being that their run defense is as strong as it is. I hope the the stadium is packed on both sides and louder than it has ever been from both fans!!

Yea i made a score prediction of 42-14 and i'm afraid it came across disrespectful to the Hornet fans. Did not intend to do so! I probably should have clarified the details of my prediction. I am expecting a 21-14 type score (or tied) at the half with the tomcats pulling away in the 4th, maybe even late in the 4th. That's a respectful "42-14" score prediction vs a 28-0 or 32-0 at halftime type score with the apposing team finally scoring on the 2nd & 3rd team late in the game. I will be majorly surprised if we are more than 2 TD's ahead before the 4th. I have respect for the South Gibson program. I just feel that the Tomcats are on a different level than in years past, if ever.

I agree!! Unless i am mistaken Alcoa still has games to play between now and December? I don't think their ticket is punched yet. Alcoa needs to worry about Alcoa and their next opponent . It is definitely hard to beat a good team twice! The advantage Covington will have come playoffs is that the Chargers have been there before! Dyersburg has the talent but can they get over that hump. Another advantage that Covington will have is that there season got cut short due to co-vid last year! They will be more hungry than most schools this year! Either way i really believe the west will be represented by either Covington or Dburg in Chattanooga!. As a former Charger i was raised to "Hate" Dyersburg but promise i will be cheering the Trojans if they are in Chatt!
