  1. Yeah does anyone have a roster of who is playing? I would like to know. I don't think they have ever had any Cleveland girls play in this game. It would be nice to see how their skills match up with the other girls from this area. Clevelandblueraiderfan- wouldn't you like to see Kerri Simpson, and Kenydall Edwards play in this game?
  2. Yeah...I was there for that one too. I wish they had this type of game when I was in high school. It gives these kids one last time to play with people that they might have wanted to play against all season long, but didn't get the opportunity. From my encounters, the players selected really look forward to getting that letter in the mail inviting them to play in the game. Its not the McDonalds game, but for some of these kids....its realistically what they had their sights on during their high school careers.
  3. I agree with tfyrams. Who else is doing this in the community? I know these guys don't personally getting any financial gain from this event, as all the money goes back into having the game the following year. I have also supported this game for the last four years, and I am going again this year. You would be surprised how many kids, boys and girls sign some sort of scholarship from this game. I believe it is a GREAT idea, and they should keep up the good work. As for the dunk contest being in the middle of the boys game, it gives the boys time to warm up.
  4. Game is tomorrow night. This will be fun. I don't know if Red Bank has ever had anything this exciting.
  5. Yeah I wish the game was tonight instead of next Friday. I am looking forward to seeing those rosters too.
  6. I wish the game was tonight instead of next Friday. Let's get it!
  7. I bet this is a knock-off of the Pre-Game Roundball Classic game. Imitators!!!!!
  8. I would like to see that....good the have as much fan participation as you can. I like the idea, but that's just me. I would enter it!
  9. I think there should be a contest like that as well. I heard they even have an official after party this year. Is that true, and if so where will it be held?
  10. My guess is that they will go with someone that has some ties to McCallie. Maybe Reed Rawlings. Reed played at Samford, and I heard he is back in Chattanooga. I know he has been playing overseas, and in the NBDL. Another guy might be Kenny White, who went to McCallie but didn't graduate from there. He went to Oak Hill Academy with his twin brother Kevin White. He then went on to play at UNC, under Dean Smith and Bill Gutheridge's teachings. He has been partly responsible with Coach Terrie Parks in helping turn Tyner Academy's girls program around. Maybe they will go with someone on the inside. You know with these private schools, they are usually going to stick close to home, and they will be very quiet about it. Maybe they might surprise us all and go Austin Clark????????
  11. Okay...why wouldn't their college coaches want them to play in this game. That is ridiculous to me. If they were invited to the McDonalds All-American game, do you think the coach would tell them not to play in that as well? Not trying to compare this game to the McDonalds game...let's get that clear. Its the last time they get to suit up for one last time in front of their family and friends, because most of these kids never know when their last game is going to be, because they lose in the tournament unexpectantly, but this, they know will be their last game. They can go out and have some fun. I say go for it ladies....if you are listening (with your college coaches blessing of course). Does anyone else feel the same way I do?
  12. Are you a part of, or are you the sponsor or a high school cheerleading squad or dance team? Well, the 4th Annual Pre-Game Academy Roundball Classic wants YOUR TEAM! Come show your school spirit in front of a jam-packed Chattanooga audience. Show them who's the best! The game will be filled with the best high school seniors from the Tennessee and Georgia area. There will be giveaways, and contests. The game will be held on Friday, March 24th at Red Bank High School. The girls game will start at 6 pm, while the boys game will follow. If you want to participate, please email Ms. Ricks, Pre-Game Academy Roundball Classic's Event Coordinator, to reserve your spot at jariricks@hotmail.com or you can call 678.548.6979. Show your school spirit, and show Chattanooga who's the BEST!
  13. Hey I saw where there is a Slam Dunk contest. Do you think Chattanooga will ever have a girl enter the slam dunk contest ala Candance Parker? If a girl could dunk, do you think the organizers would let her in it?
  14. Who else should be playing in this game that is not listed yet? What about that kid from Howard is he a junior or a senior?
  15. I hear what you are saying doc6...what does that stand for anyway? I just think Moore and his staff should do a better job of protecting your backyard....its kind of like protecting your homecourt. Who ever heard of a guy going to get gas, when he has a full tank? What a minute, maybe its like a guy who has a free Benz sitting in his driveway, but he decides to go out, and pay to buy a Buick. Doesn't make much sense how you look at it.
  16. That looks like a good group thus far. Hey what about those girls from McMinn Central. They call them the 3 Killa K's? Are they playing? I heard K. Williams from Tyner is getting some looks from major D-1 schools...even UTC is trying to come on now. I heard they haven't paid her the time of day all season long, and now she drops 42 in the region game, now they are trying to jump on the bandwagon. Come on Moore....get your stuff together!!!!!! They should have been on Williams all year long!!!!!!!
  17. Yeah last year's game was NICE. That Charles Little put on a show!!!!! I believe this year has better all around team play. Its definitely going to be a high scoring event. Yeah I wonder why it was changed from Tyner to Red Bank? I hope they get that MC back....he was good, he added more excitement to the game...not like it needed anymore. Hey who do yall think should be ranked as the best from the last three years. My top five: 1) Jake Skogen (Temple) 2) Charles Little (Cleveland) 3) Ricky Harper (Howard) 4) Lance Sexton (Soddy Daisy) 5) Jawon Smith (McMinn) * Not in any particular order.
  18. Hey does anyone know if they will have a live DJ playing during the game like they did the last two years? It gave it the NBA experience. I found the amount of music played to be just right, and with the flow of the game. It was exciting, and I hope they keep that aspect of the game.
  19. Two of Pre-Game Academy's founders went to Oak Hill, so I'm sure they can get Coach Steve Smith to come and play here. Like I said, they might play a top ranked Georgia team here in Chattanooga, and have other Tennessee teams play in the Round Robin style format. We will see though. I mean not many teams in the country can match up with them, I mean that's why they win or contend for the National Championship every year.
  20. Who else is the public wanting to see play in this game? I heard Skogen, Little, Adams, Jeff Smith, Rodney Marsh (CSAS) were going to play; but who else would everyone else want to see?
  21. What schools would those include? Do you have any examples of schools? I also heard that Pre-Game Academy, the same people who do the Roundball Classic, was thinking about bringing in teams from Georgia and other states, in a event that would have Oak-Hill playing a couple of games; but not in a tournament format.
  22. I hear that Oak Hill Academy is coming to Chattanooga in the future to participate in a tournament. That game is going to be soo hype. They won the USA Today National Championship again this year. I hear that Pre-Game Academy is working on bringing them in. Does anyone have any information on this? Who would you like to see them play against, do you think any teams in Tennessee can add up?
  23. I totally disagree with the statement that this game is all about "showboating." These guys who organize it work really hard, and the game is well put together. The last two years they have had numerous college coaches and scouts at the game looking at these kids. It has more purpose than a McDonald's All- American game, because all of those guys are blue chippers, and have already signed; but this game gives those kids who haven't signed a shot. It should be really fun. Where else can I catch all of Chattanooga's stars play in one place? "Love It" have you ever been to one of these games?? Last I heard, Lance Sexton was at Lee University.
  24. The game is on a Saturday. April 16th.
  25. This is the third year for the game I believe, and I know its going to be packed in there. I remember the first year when Jake Skogen got dunked on by Lance Sexton, and the whole gym went crazy. Lance got a pass from Ricky Harper as he slashed down the lane, and Skogen tried to line him up, but it was too late. BOOOM. The referees had to stop the game for a little while so they could clear the court. I remember Caleb Skogen being at that game, so maybe he'll try to catch someone to avenge his brother... Either way its going to be a great game....I will be there.
