  1. Knowing what I know now about Shad that guy never should’ve been allowed to be in charge of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, much less a 6A football program. I don’t know what switched in his brain, why or when it happened but he definitely was not the same coach at the end of his WB tenure than at the beginning. Who in the world leaves HAND-WRITTEN LETTERS from college coaches wanting your players to come to a camp in your office only to be found months later by someone cleaning out the office? (He didn’t even tell the players they were invited to the camp…) Who leaves multiple plaques of awards that your players have won hidden in a dusty corner only to be found by the new coach who rightfully gives them to the player who won them. Who in their right mind walks into the locker room of a 1-8 team on senior night and basically tells the seniors that this isn’t about you tonight it’s about the future and what’s coming up next year. I don’t know if he gave up at the end or what, but that’s pretty pathetic of a coach if you ask me.
  2. Used to be Tight Ends coach at Tennessee. Was a HC in JuCO for years.
  3. Well it looks like Heritage will be looking for a new coach.. Hammontree also used to coach at Maryville back in the day
  4. Glad to hear him talk about Discipline. That has been a problem the past few years.
  5. If you are saying what I think you’re saying, he is overqualified.. Lol
  6. Well folks it looks like next week we will find out
  7. The next coach at William Blount will have to build a connection with the kids at not only the high school, but at the middle school level as well. Part of the reason these kids are leaving and going to Alcoa, Maryville, Greenback, etc. is because there hasn’t been much of an attempt to build a relationship with the kids before they are in HS. Players have a harder time transferring when they feel like the school that they’re transferring away from has a coach who 1) Knows what he’s doing and 2) Truly cares about them
  8. I think I speak for a lot of William Blount fans when I say, I just want excitement. And I want the players to get to experience it too. I want a good offense and a team that plays hard and can win some games (preferably more than 4). I don’t expect to beat teams like Maryville but I want to be able to brag occasionally about some wins instead of being ashamed like I felt when we lost to HVA and Mo East this past year.
  9. Clark Duncan? Just speculating, I don’t actually have any information.
  10. Maybe a young coach who has never been a HC before would.. or an assistant who is currently on staff. Probably not going to be very many current Head Coaches apply unless they want to take on a challenge.
  11. Everyone knows that Brian Nix will be the next HC at Alcoa
  12. @BarneySox2007 Do we have a Thanksgiving word of the day?
  13. Kids don’t want to play for Heritage and WB for a variety of reasons. Some of it is self-inflicted on Heritage and WB’s part. Some of it isn’t and that’s a whole other long conversation. They aren’t having success in football even when they’re supposed to (like WB in 2021). Unlike Heritage, William Blount actually has the potential to be a .500 playoff contender year in and year out and the person over the team right now is, to put it nicely, not getting the job done.
  14. William Blount is staring down the barrel of another 1-9 season in 2022 if things go like they did this year. Maybe Shad is staying there until he drops his career record below .500
  15. As hard as I and others have been on Shad this year, I will say there are not an abundant amount of other football coaches who are a better man than Shad off the field… he is a great family man and it just stinks that he hasn’t been able to have any success at all here at WB
  16. Looks like it is going to rain all day but then stop at kickoff
