East got some tough breaks and the touchdown called back on a hold was a rough call especially with all the holding that was not called. The last fumble was a terrible call. Not sure the East OC was ready after the on side kick because the play calling could have been much better. Riverside was on the ropes and all East needed to do was the final knock out punch. That’s the way it goes.

I’m not sure why you feel the need to bash me for stating my opinion. I don’t know these kids well but I definitely know those kids 2016-18 very well and that team was loaded. Coach was hard nose too. I’m simply telling you what I saw the other night. It was the first scrimmage and coaches do hold back but defensively you got some holes and make fun of East all you want but they had no problem moving the ball on Waverly. I’m not from East btw but whatever lol.

24 is a good back but he is no Bradley. QB again is good player but a Mr. Football? Not even close. I’ll take JD over all three of the receivers I saw at the scrimmage. The biggest difference I saw at the scrimmage was the lack of aggression that usually comes from Waverly. Again they are a solid team but comparing them to 2016-18 is insane. All three of those teams beat this team by 40. East won’t score in bunches but it’s a long game and 10-12 play series ending in scores will wear on a team. Also it keeps the other offense off the field. I won’t get into the back and forth of what would have happened last year and who you think is scared but I will give East credit where it’s due. It’s not an easy place to coach and Austin is doing as good as you can do and the kids are believing and I will tell you they felt really good after last Friday night. Should be a fun year. 16,17,and 18 were all great teams! This Waverly team is good but in my opinion I don’t think they could play with those teams.

East is far from a scrub team but time will tell how both teams do. I don’t think any of Waverly team or Coaches felt like they were scrimmaging a scrub.

I like some healthy smack talk. Lol. I like that you back your team. I’m not a poster or whatever you are referring to. I love Vanderbilt my whole life. It’s a curse I know! I do call it like I see it and I think East will be better than most think. Stewart County over looked them last year and got pounded. I’m hoping Lewis County does the same. Frost does a great job with Riverside but East had their chances with them last year as well. It’s the first scrimmage and lots of things will change by the end of the year not to mention we will deal with Covid again through our football season. Good luck to Waverly. I will say East Hickman may not be the best team but they are not cowards.

I saw the good Waverly teams with Stanfield, Montez, and JD. Trust me, that team beats this team by 40. First pick was badly under thrown and not a penalty. East scored easily first drive and scored easily second drive with the second touchdown called back on a hold which was a terrible call. Waverly had a long touchdown run with a hold on the linebacker. Should have been an easy call. Other than the big plays, it was nothing much to it. They pounded your defense. You did score a third time I forgot…. On the 9th grade team. East coach looked far from scared and after all the crap you talked last year about what you would do, honestly that was a big let down. I will agree East needs to X the field goal and go for two. Keep beating your chest… you’ll limp into the playoffs but it won’t be 1st seed. Fairview beats you easily. Guess we will find out. I’ll be the first to say I’m wrong if I am.

Take it out on East? Waverly threw two picks in the first 10 plays. Did get a mismatch and tossed a long touchdown. Every time the QB got pressure he threw a jump ball. East first possession, they went right down the field with ease scoring on Waverly. Seven to eight yards a carry. East tried to get too cute with play calling is the only reason they stopped East on any play. I didn’t see anyone taking anything out on East. Waverly may have a hard time with Fairview. I applaud Trollin for his support to his team but he forgot to give East a little credit. If Waverly is as good as he thinks, then East may have a pretty good year in 2A.

Maybe you still get to play East before its over. Run with Fairview? Not this year but maybe the next. I can't speak for East's coach and his reasons to be fair. Gary Harris? He's a nobody used up Middle School Coach. Nobody caring about that guy.

So you didn't play Fairview and East. Both with a winning records. I just feel Riverside is the better team. Does Broadway call the offense? He scored a lot of points with a bad team in Dickson. Good news is this is why we get to play and find out. No, I'm not affiliated with McEwen but I do like orange juice. Covid isn't a good excuse because it has hit everyone. I don't think anyone had a preseason.

Has Waverly beat anyone that has a winning record? I'm taking Johnny Frost and Riverside by three touchdowns. Riverside beats Adamsville and Adamsville thumps GC and they played waverly close... I'm not sold that Waverly can beat Riverside. Should be interesting.

What I know is you couldn't get it done when you had the most talent Waverly has ever had for about 3 years. Trust me, them days are long gone. I mean you took some players from Dickson probably illegal but really does it matter? Bottom line is you couldn't play Friday and East couldn't play Saturday. The game was scheduled for Friday. You can take it from the horses mouth or Trollin or who ever but you couldn't play so you lose. Don't point fingers and name call when you did the exact same thing. You may have wanted to play Fairview in the past but this year, we would have crushed you and you didn't want it.

You must be on the staff at Waverly since you know so much about it. I know this is the second half of the season and dates are slim. I just don't think you know all the facts. You guys still have to beat Riverside, so I wouldn't be polishing your district rings just yet.

That's not what we were told in Fairview. I know they wanted Waverly bad and that got pushed aside. Anyways, from what I can tell Coach Austin is doing a great job in a tough place to coach. I doubt seriously he is a coward. Your team couldn't play and its their fault? Makes sense.

At the time Fairview had a lot of open slots. Was willing to play anytime and anywhere but I didn't hear anyone calling you guys cowards or POS.... They got class. Do you know if East could have all their players on Saturday to play. I know my buddy has a kid on the team and he works every Saturday. Just something to think about.

The only way you get better is to play. In my opinion, coaches should prepare to achieve their goals... if your goal is to win four games, take the W. If your goal is to be as good as you can be and make a run at the end of the season, you play the game. Sends a subliminal message to your players no matter how you spin it. Trollin, Did Waverly make up their game with Fairview? Did they not want to get better that week?
