  1. I’ve kept up with the Trojans since I started playing as a freshman in 2000 and I’ve been telling people that this is the best and most complete team I’ve seen, since preseason. I knew they’d blow out Dyer county. If our O gets going early, it’ll be a long night for EN. The defense has really gotten better since the beginning of the season.
  2. Dyersburg has the ability to put up points fast. Backfield is deep and it is fast and hard to take down. Passing game feeds off of play action, and is also very fast and talented. The defense has gotten better and more disciplined later in the season. Special teams is capable of taking it to the house and producing TOs. Really an all around good and disciplined team. Those two slugfests with Covington really sharpened them. If EN does not play disciplined ball, it could get ugly fast, but at the same time, if Dyersburg is playing uptight, they could struggle early.
  3. That’s no good. Coach told the boys today that they don’t have a visitor’s locker room so I think they’re getting ready at Father Ryan.
  4. That was going around Dyersburg because Waverly has been playing at Nissan stadium after their field was destroyed and most people keeping up with 3A, in Dyersburg, thought that would be our opponent if we made it this far
  5. What kind of team does EN have? What offense do they run?
  6. Heck of a game by two really good teams. Both matchups are instant classics. Glad I took that BC powder at the half. My voice is gone but my BP didn’t get too high this time
  7. Never said I was confident Dyersburg would win by multiple scores. If they don’t play uptight and they play to win the game, I absolutely believe they can win by two scores. I’ve watched these boys since they were in third grade and I know when they’re playing uptight. They were as uptight as they had ever been the first go around. This time, hopefully it’s different.
  8. Absolutely! Dyersburg has great respect for what Covington has accomplished. I hope for a good clean game where it is settled on the field. Gonna have to take some extra stomach medicine, because this one has had me torn up for days
  9. Y’all playing with the 2018 Haywood roster? Haywood had several of their star players out during the regular season but had them back for the playoffs. I knew what was coming, but how is that relevant? It’s amazing how Dyersburg got lucky and Covington screwed up the first game.
  10. Can’t apply the transitive property to football, but Dyersburg had Ripley 30-0 at the half and could’ve scored much more than 50 had we not put in the backups after halftime and had a running clock. In my opinion, if Dyersburg plays loose and not uptight like they did last time, they’ll win by multiple scores. I like being the underdog and not getting much respect though. Keeps the boys hungry.
  11. Didn’t Dontavius go for over 100yds when we played Covington the first time?
  12. Every one of them was there. I expect Fayne to be at qb? I know he didn’t start there but switched to qb in the 2nd quarter against us the first time. Both teams will be fired up. If Dyersburg plays like we’re capable of, I believe we win. I’m sure glad we have this game at Dyersburg. Winner looks like they will play East Nashville at Nissan Stadium. Looking forward to this game! Hopefully I keep my BP in check this time. I about stroked out the first game!
  13. Covington will fare much better than their early season contest. We play Millington and hope to see y’all two weeks from now, BUT we’re taking one game at a time
  14. And right after I posted this, found out my son had broken his finger. Won’t require surgery as long as he sits this week out
  15. Dyersburg entering the playoffs with home field advantage and healthy. They’re not resting on their laurels either. These boys are hungry!
  16. My first trip to Haywood since I played there last in 2002 was last Friday night. Great atmosphere and great support for their team. Covington never stood a chance. If Haywood keeps up the momentum and stays healthy, they have a good chance at getting a gold ball, especially with Springfield in 5A now
  17. Dyersburg has too much speed and is healthy. Hopefully the Tigers make it a game because Dyersburg has only had two games that they were pushed and they need it
  18. I haven’t compared scores. Dyersburg came up, which they seem to do all of the time lately, and I simply stated that Haywood needs to be more worried about a team they play versus a team they don’t.
  19. That’s the way to do it! Haywood has always been big and physical! Lots of success and always seems to have been Dyersburg’s stumbling block for decades
  20. Peabody scheduled Dyersburg and signed a contract to play them. Dyersburg didn’t schedule or sign a contract to play Haywood. Dyersburg also beat Covington, whom Haywood plays in two weeks. Let’s see how that game goes. I’m pulling for Haywood.
  21. I’d be more worried about 10-22 than what Dyersburg is doing, if I were y’all.
  22. Boyette’s on highway 21. About 5 minutes from the ballfiield.
