I think there is a lot of mutual respect between our teams (i'm an LA dad) and we are making each other better. I also think both coaches are pouring into those kids in a special way. loved hearing difler's and martin's comments at the game. next year should be interesting as both teams are losing some stars.

i would agree it might seem less of an accomplishment if they didn't play so many other good teams. LA and CPA both proved they could hang with anyone this year. CPA beat 2 AAA teams. both hung with Oakland. LA mercy ruled Pulaski Academy who is now playing for the state championship in Arkansas and is ranked #2 in the state. I think it is clear that some no-so-good teams still make the playoffs because the division is so small which doesn't make it seem special. on a side note, if you haven't heard dilfer's story about why he is coaching high school to honor his young son who died tragically, google it. it's worth the read.

Thanks for explaining. I was truly curious. I think that idea is probably a good one. Split AA so there are 2 larger divisions.

i am curious what you mean by "skirted the line"? a quick google search shows that for the 2021 classification, enrollment numbers for the largest 4 AA schools are as follows: CPA - 448, LA - 453, Webb - 494, Chatt Christian - 525. doesn't look like LA is even close to skirting a line. it looks like they are exactly where they are supposed to be. FWIW, BA is the smallest AAA with 461, so LA would be the smallest AAA school if they moved up. I do think they could move up and play with those schools as could CPA. in any case i'm proud of the season Lipscomb put together.

I agree it will probably closer but I do not think lipscomb's defense is flat to trending down. they held DA to negative rushing yards and under 70 yards total. davidson had a pretty impressive offense all season. I also think the 2 way players for CPA were a difference, as well. in any case, thanks for the discussion!

I was kind of hoping LA would play someone new but CPA is just too good. so what are your thoughts on how it will be different than their first meeting this year? obviously, they are a talented, well coached team. how does CPA win this? how does LA beat them twice? they both played Oakland to the bell and I thought the first matchup would be close based off that.

will be fun to watch. LA has not had a close game on their home field in a long time but would rather this one be close than the championship should they make it. im a lipscomb fan obviously. : )

thanks and same to you guys! it's been a fun ride but it's not over yet!! the oakland game didn't end like I would like but was sure proud of the fight. LA wasn't winning many games a few years ago so they have come a long way.
