Exactly! Jake and Matt are excellent coaches. This is exactly what I try to explain to people about Cleveland. It’s like they think the kids on our high school team who moved to Cleveland in MS somehow have not been significantly developed by our program.

Exactly! Kind of like the Fowlers coming to Cleveland in MS. Wrestling in our program for SIX years. I actually like Bob Corker’s calculation. By my calculation ALL of our kids except ONE who are starting were in our program before high school. 10 out of 14 of them came from our elementary program, through middle school, and into high school. 8 of those started as BEGINNERS with us. That trend will continue. Great job Josh and HCWC. Jake and Matt and their staff have invested a lot in development as well and deserve the credit as such.

I am not saying that bracket was seeded well, but do you really think it was purposely seeded to put Summitt in the consolation bracket? If so, why? Also, it is interesting to note the three best teams (imo) did end up all wrestling each other.

Pretty close to what I have except I have Schuft over McCormack at 157. I also believe Logan would tech or pin Santee so I have it Cleveland 33 and Buford 28. Too bad we will probably never see this.

They are usually on NFHS I believe.

I agree! My son will be in 9th grade next year and I want us to wrestle the toughest schedule we can, win or lose. That is what makes wrestling the best sport on earth! The opportunity to test your metal in combat. I will gladly take an L for the chance to see our guys test their skill and toughness.

I never bashed anyone or any other program. I am also not trolling anyone. And yeah, I defended Josh and Joey against the accusation we were only good because of Allan Jones. And yes, I think we can beat Buford and Camden. I am not arrogant about how good we are either. I named several teams I think would beat us pretty bad, including Lake Highland Prep. And if you knew me, you would know I care very deeply about TN wrestling as a whole and have many friends across the state. I want our state to be the best and I support every program and every wrestler. I have been hauling TN kids all over the country for years. I did not realize this place was a message board where everyone has to agree with you. You bashed Cleveland, I responded. Never once did I bash anyone else.

So we wrestle in December we win. What about best verse best? I posted my take on that matchup.

What exactly does that have to do with the hypothetical dual I posted? That dual will never happen because neither team is going to wrestle after Jan. 1. He is a good wrestler, and that is why they don’t want to wrestle him against Tyson. Why risk losing both 215 and HWT? And it does not matter what weight we start at. If the lineup I posted is what we want to send, we can send that lineup. They can bump around to get different matchups, but they can’t dictate who we send at what weight. So yeah, I can say that is the lineup we send. Since that is true, tell me how they would adjust their state duals finals roster to negate our lineup’s advantages.

We were talking about them having wrestlers still in football in November. I pointed out that we were also playing in November. At what point did I say Cleveland is as good in football as Buford? Your argument makes no sense, and them being better in football does not change the validity of my point that both teams had to deal with wrestlers playing football in November. Stop. You are saying ridiculous things to try and be right instead of thinking about what you are saying.

No way they or us would wrestle after the first of the year because the post season is the focus for both teams. If they will never have their full lineup in December, then it is stupid to even talk about this topic because the two of us would never wrestle a dual with both lineups at full strength. Then there is no point in debating it, because neither team is going to wrestle it straight up. Buford did not wrestle Camden straight up. They bumped around. I posted how we would probably try to match up to maximize wins. You want to post a different scenario, then do it. I went off their dual against Camden and thought what they would likely do against us to maximize wins. Where would they do it differently than what I posted? Post how they would try to matchup against us.

Their football team got bounced early this year if I am not mistaken. So that is a moot point. Cleveland made the playoffs last couple of years too and we have the same challenges as several of our better kids (including Lucas) play football.

The Buford heavyweight is 215 lber and bumped against Camden I think. And they may bump against us. We also have a bunch of flexibility with our lineup and would definitely be putting Fowlers and Lucas on their weaker weights to ensure bonus. You can’t just put region vs region because a dual like that is all about hypothetical. Pope at 144 changes nothing because I have them winning both 144 and 150 anyway.

Exactly my point. Guess what, our December is full too. We had Cleveland Duals, Carnahan, Knockout, and Powerade. We are not scared to wrestle them, and they are certainly not scared to wrestle us either, so arguing over it is dumb. I posted a hypothetical matchup. Talk about that instead.

I have not been on Coach T for years. I jumped on last week because of these idiots dogging Josh and Joey. I made a huge mistake. Do you people ever actually talk about wrestling? It seems like every conversation seems to be steered by two or three people who have some fetish about hating Cleveland to the topic of “Cleveland this or Cleveland that.” This thread started about seeding (or lack thereof) at the state tournament. These message boards would be a lot more interesting if we actually talked about wrestling. You think Buford is better than us? Throw the lineups up there and make an argument about how the dual would go.
