  9. Another senior volleyball player from Siegel has announced her commitment for college volleyball. Madison Lansdown, a member of the 2024 Class, has committed to Belmont University in Nashville and the Missouri Valley Conference. She will play with former Siegel Star Brooke Gilleland. Patricia "Trish" Flowers will begin her fifth season at Siegel High School. During her tenure this will make the 12th player that will play college volleyball. Siegel was runner-up to Brentwood in the 2020 Class AAA State Tournament. On October 23,2020 of the 13 players that saw action in that match, 10 of them went on to the next level and are playing or will play college volleyball. They are: Taylor Sanders, Jaida Clark, Laura Howell, June Padilla, Isabel Thornton, Nialah Gupton, Brooke Gilleland, Ellie Czajkowski, Cate Schroer and Elena Hansen.

  11. There is a playday this coming Saturday August 12th. at Siegel High School and a special coach is having a Birthday then. Can you guess? It is Amy McGowan the coach of the defending Class AAA Champions Cleveland Blue Raiders. Her and Coach Trish Flowers are great friends as she coached at Cleveland before she came to Murfreesboro this will be Flowers' 5th year at the school. Leave your gifts at the front of the Siegel High Gym or on the Cleveland bench before first serve!!!
  12. Lauren Hurst the 6'3" monster has all kinds of basketball offers along with volleyball I'm sure after this season. Don't forget about Kinslee McGowan the captain and headed to Florence, Alabama to play at North Alabama. Maybe her and Addison Hurst can play vs each other as Addison will be a freshman at South Alabama. Also, the two Brock's and don't forget Amy McGowan the Clemson Hall-of-Famer, still holds two women's basketball records at Clemson and an ACC legend. Will they embrace being the champion or run from it?
  13. Eagleville should be good again they have Audrey Tribble one of best setters in mid-state she had over 1,000 assists last season. Along with Katelynn Roberts, Meah Thompson, Bella Bain and others should win district again but Watertown who Eagleville beat in sectional last two seasons is in Class AA now. Central Magnet is in their district as they have Noella Obi a Mississippi State commit so, watch for the Tigers to attempt to make back-to back state tournaments under Dusty Stearns. Eagleville will play Riverdale, Blackman Rockvale and Lincoln County. The final two at home as they both went 5 sets last season. Eagleville lost at Rockvale and won at Lincoln County. In Fayetteville, they were down 2-0 before coming back and at Rockvale they were up 2-0 before the Rockets came back to win the Eagles second match of the season. Rockvale at Eagleville September 18th and Lincoln County at Eagleville September 25th both begin at 6 PM. the LC match will be Senior Night and will be emotional for them. Deanna Freise is outstanding coach and under-rated in Rutherford County as she looks to take Eagleville to third straight state tournament in 2023.
  14. The Blackman High School girls' soccer team is looking for a game on Thursday September 28th at home in Murfreesboro in the Inferno. The field is turf and it would be before the postseason. They normally play at 7 PM central time but could accommodate. If interested contact head coach Emily Harris at harrise@rcschools.net or at (615) 796-4420
