Alcoa face when they were faced with the decision of moving up a class lol

Let’s not get into dodging folks….. you were invited to come join us in 4A…. You guys are the ones dodging…

Everyone knows now you are scared to play up… it’s funny to see how you guys defend yourself now after them Knoxville schools weren’t scared of y’all coming up… just keep up your non sense… your little titles in a weak 3A class mean nothing to anyone but you.. go recruit and keep the portal going

You actually are telling the truth… transfer portal is in full swing for y’all… just remember you don’t have rankin now that tssaa would turn their eye away from that kinda stuff (illegal recruiting)…. It’s gonna be funny this time when you get caught even though it’s always been done…

You got Northview counted twice… that’s only 8 teams?

We shall see but I can tell you Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is likely headed to region 1… and there are strong sources saying Northview will be region 1 in 4A… tssaa does not want 4 team regions unless travel is impossible…. Sweetwater is closer to Alcoa than Gatlinburg is mileage wise … loudon was gonna be in region 2 had they stayed 3A

Region 1 3A- Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg will be in it with Chuckey Doak, Unicoi, Claiborne, and Johnson Co. Use to be in that region for years… not gonna leave just 4 teams in a region Region 2 3A- Alcoa , AE, Union, Scott, Kingston, Sweetwater I loom for Northview to go Region 1 in 4A

Alcoa was not being put in a chattanooga region… stop making excuses. They were gonna be in region 2 with other Knox county schools

Reclassification and tssaa rules refer to all sports …

There is no rule that says you can’t move up 2 classifications period. You can move up however you want to. It’s same rules for all sports on moving classifications during recycle period.

You could have moved to 4A and those schools you say are scared of you would have to play you and you could still keep your two games against Maryville and west… the only difference you would be playing the best 3 teams in 4A in playoffs where you may or may not win and cost you a championship that is easy for you in 3A… if you can move up in basketball 2 classifications, you can move up 2 in football in tssaa…. Nobody has wanted to do that but you could if you wanted to

Yes you can play up two classes if your school wants to in any sport by TSSAA rules. Alcoa just wants to make excuses why the don’t play up.., one year it was because the Knoxville schools were threatening to move up… not this year… none of them threaten to move. So who cares.. let them play in 3a and keep winning… your not proving anything to anyone … except your not wanting to play up against different competition

Who have you beaten that’s any good? Answer that question. We are a losing a football team this year and the record speaks for itself…. If your the powerhouse you say you are be like lipscomb academy and play up and prove it… but as we see again… you chose the easy way out and played 3A again… tssaa just released it lol

Besides Maryville who have you beat that’s all that great besides 2A Tyner? Heck if your so confident in how good you guys are and think 4A is no different than 3A go to 5A and get you some. Name who you have beaten that’s any good this year and let’s talk about that.

Bottom line is if you guys thought you would dominate a larger classification you would move up but you didn’t. Looking at your schedule you will only have 4 regular season wins over teams with winning records. It may end up being only 3 if Pigeon Forge loses this week. You beat a Maryville team that’s probably the worse one they have had in awhile. Now are you dominant in 3A, of course, there is nobody that has the athletes you have that you play in the east. It’s easy to say your not afraid to play anyone anytime in a non region game… the difference in the bigger classes and some of their regions is you have tougher games every week in region play.

Alcoa has been the standard in 3A. But it looks like they are content on staying where they are and where it’s easy for them. They control their enrollment being a city school which is their right. But there is no question Alcoa is concerned about moving up and still being dominant or they would have done that with rankin… common sense says they would continue the dominance looking at their recent dominance over past 15 years but there is definitely a question in their leaders minds on if they could sustain it. That’s not a knock against them but it’s the truth.

So do you think Alcoa gonna join our region. I think it will be a dang good region that will be competitive and tough. We were down this year here at Seymour but I know Anderson County is tough and Gibbs is having a nice year.

You could be right… The question becomes does Alcoa get out of their comfort zone and try to win it in 4A and move up. Rankin never would do it. I think Alcoa is definitely talented enough to not miss a beat but it will be tougher than 3A overall. Right now all they have is 3 tough games entire year and 2 of them rally don’t county in Maryville and West both non region. Games… the other May not be tough but I’m counting it tough which is state championship game. People are saying they will and they won’t… so who really knows. We all will know regions soon enough.

Understand your analogy but I’m just hearing they both will be in same region. Could be wrong but we will see.

They will not separate Seymour and Northview being in same school system… either they both go to region 1 or both stay in region 2…

They would send AC north if anyone … Northview and Seymour will not be separated being in same county and would stay in region 2

Word in Sevier County is Pigeon Forge and GP will be headed to region 1…. They will move Loudon, Sweetwater, Kingston and Scott to region 2 with Alcoa (if they stay in 3A), AE and Union. West Greene is no longer in 3A… this will give region 1 6 teams and region 2 6 teams….

I was right there with you but I’m hearing this morning Alcoa will move up. Will be interesting to see no doubt. They would be in our region with us in region 2 4A and other area Knoxville schools.

West Greene is not in 3A … they are in 2A

Region 1- Chuckey Doak, Unicoi, Johnson County, Claiborne, Gatlinburg-Pittman, Pigeon Forge ( West Greene is in 2A now) Region 2- Alcoa, Austin East, Union County, Scott, Kingston, Loudon Region 3- Meigs, Tyner, Sweet Water, Brainerd, McMinn Central, Chatt Central 4A Region 2 Fulton, Gibbs, AC, South-Doyle, Northview, Seymour, Carter. (If Alcoa plays up they will be in this region)
