The penalty statement wasn’t just for the Meigs game, the penalty situation has been an issue under the Martin staff. Lack of discipline will get you beat and I’ve seen it first hand. I also will always root for SHS but your FACTS are not FACTS. Meigs is a great team but SHS should of won that game. However it’s done and over with and I think both teams will learn from it and have a successful season.

You’re obviously taking this way more personal than it actually is. I like coach Martin, think he’s a great man. As far as coaching he’s sub par. Just like he was at meigs! 4th and 4 chance to put the game away you hand the ball off to a kid that had 1 carry all night. We run the ball to the middle of the field on 3 straight plays killing the clock to set up for what?? After moving it very well throwing the football. Sounds to me you need to take the rose colored glasses off and actually diagnose the game instead of justifying the short comings! Up 22-8 in the fourth. Also I’ll tell you what is FACTS! Yeah momentum is a big thing but when you got guys bending over huffing and puffing and meigs has guys jumping up and down high fiving in the 4th yeah I’d say there in better shape. ANOTHER FACT is we are probably the most penalized team in the region. Since you want everyone to know you was on the sideline why don’t you tell us the penalty yardage for Friday night? Game looks different when you look at it from non bias eyes. That being said I always root for SHS, but I’m sure you being on a high school sideline you know more than me about football. Haha.

If central wants more than 2 wins this year this game is a must. I was rooting for central but realistically nobody outside of etowah thought central was gonna have the season some of these posters thought. They was not prepared for that game friday

I’ll never discount meigs I think those kids are great, however Martin did not call a great game. Our run game was working very well. Martin out coaches his self week after week. Clock management was atrocious. He even left a timeout on the table when he was trying to substitute and got an illegal substitution. Martin is a great leader of men but he struggles at the coaching part.

100% I think you’re wrong. Sweetwater was the better team. I will say Martin handicaps the cars again. Awful clock management with a timeout left and awful play calling down the stretch. 4th and 4 to seal the game and he gives a 3rd or 4th string running back his first carry of the night instead of the guy that ran for 160+ tonight. Great ball game tho and now I can go back to rooting for both teams good luck this year yeti and I’ll be back at meigs. However I do disagree and with unbiased eyes. Sweetwater won almost every statistical category except the one that matters. It happens tho. Looking forward to football season

Tellico will run it straight at sequoyah all night. Sequoyah will have no answers. We must of been watching two different teams at the jamboree. Sequoyah didn’t even pose a threat of stopping anything

It hurts sweetwater more, they do have a good running back but meigs has more of a power run game. That’s gonna ground and pound and keep moving the sticks. Sweetwater likes to throw it around a little bit as well

SJHS beat Meigs Middle tonight 42-14. Jr high team looked very good and has a ton of talent coming behind them as well in the little leagues. Future is bright

Ah I got ya! I would agree they are the favorites and deservedly so. I’ve always tried to keep up with the smaller local schools. Greenback has been good for years and struggled a bit last year. Didn’t understand the hire truly. Wasn’t a fan when he was here personally. I will say our youth program is really good and the jr high team is very good as well. so there is bright years ahead here for sweetwater! glad to be able to talk football with you fellas! Look forward to the season
