  1. Elijah is the one committed to Kentucky, not Isaiah. I wouldn’t call Isaiah Mr. Kentucky, I’d call him Mr. Football.
  2. The Indians lose and guess who finally remembered their password. Credit to Riverside – their physicality showed up and forced ER into a lot of 3rd and 4th down scenarios. Prevented the big explosive plays.
  3. Finally got some room to run and got careless. Unfortunate, but he made up for it.
  4. One thing we really noticed was how large some other 2A towns are in comparison to across Plains. Cross Plains boasts 1,800 people, one traffic light, a Dollar General, Piggly Wiggly, a gas station, a Mexican restaurant, and a family pharmacy/soda parlor. The line gets blurred a little with White House 15 minutes away, but Cross Plains on its own is very small.
  5. Not players, at least in college, unless I just don’t see it. They’ll interview about the previous game or their program, but I don’t see many interviews with players breaking down and talking about an upcoming game.
  6. Seems like an all-time bad idea to interview players before a game. They don’t do that college or the NFL, let alone high school kids.
  7. WBIR also reached out to at least one person from East Robertson, but that person declined the interview.
  8. Sir, this is a ̶W̶e̶n̶d̶y̶’̶s̶ East Robertson/Riverside thread
  9. If East can recreate their performance against Smith County a couple weeks ago, especially the first quarter/half, they’ll be really hard to beat. No penalties, explosive plays, suffocating defense, etc.
  10. I agree that part of it falls on coaching, but it’s not the whole problem. You can only discipline, run, practice, preach, advocate, beg, and drill discipline into these kids for so long before it’s up to them to get it. It’s not a matter of technique or talent but of having a mind and will for it. I’ve never been a coach, but that’s my perspective on it.
  11. ZayViyan Groves. He’s really grown into form on defense the past couple of weeks. There’s also a Kris Groves, but I think he’s unrelated.
  12. Taylor and Shaun are brothers, sons of Terry Allen. Elijah, Isaiah, and Zach are brothers. Cousins of Carlus, who went on to play basketball at Tennessee.
  13. All of ER's playoff opponents had given up a combined average of 10 points per game in the playoffs before facing the Indians. All of their 3 previous opponents gave up less than 10 points per game all season (9.1, 7.9, 7.5). East scored 24, 49, and 35. Riverside is giving up 14.4 points per game and 8.5 in the playoffs. Different schedules and competition and stats don't tell the whole story, sure, but East Robertson has shown a propensity all postseason long to buck some statistical trends. Should be a great heavy-weight fight.
  14. Looking more and more likely that it'll be a rain game on Saturday. That plus playing on turf could be interesting factors for this one.
  15. No Groves were ejected. Not going to announce the player who was ejected, but it wasn’t a Groves.
  16. Less of a punch and more of an open handed shove the face. Still should have been a penalty.
  17. York is streaming from NFHS. UCR has an audio stream on Facebook. We’ll have an audio broadcast with live look-ins over on Facebook at East Robertson Athletics.
  18. That’s how we try to conduct our broadcasts as well – like you’re watching the old FOX regional affiliates. Not one-sided or biased, but still supporting and more knowledgeable of on side.
  19. Dallas Caffrey. Small but mighty. Dude is a tackling machine.
  20. L̶o̶r̶d̶ TSSAA and York willing, we’ll do the same thing we did this week – audio broadcast with live look-ins.
  21. Isaiah Groves Unofficial First Half Stats 15/173, 3TDs on the ground 1/1, 86, TD “through the air” on a dump back pass
  22. Isaiah Groves with 3 TDs. 16 yard run. 86 yard pass. 85 yard run.
