I admit i was being generous.

Ok Booger maybe I’m being a little generous with the talent last season but they had a D1 at Memphis now. And a bunch of other kids that got offers. They really looked like a very good 5A team last year with their first 22. Could they beat Oakland. No. Because of lack of depth. But their starters could have played with them for a half. With a Quality Coaching Staff.

Cannon Co is awful. IF this a Highlight Game for the Seniors I’m happy for them.

They had a Dozen kids last year that either are or could have played College Football. The 4 I’m talking about can or will as well. Talent isn’t the Problem with City. The Coaching is abhorrent.

Marvin’s is the Best if you’re a Country Boy like Me. I know the Owner and he has a couple of older ladies that Cook great stuff.

My “sources” are telling Me City’s Qb has regressed from last season. He holds the ball too long. Misses wide open receivers. And is afraid to run for fear of getting hurt. The wheels have fallen off the program in general. They have athletes. Should have been tied at the 1/2 at MC. But the Qb threw a woefully short pass to 2 Wide Open receivers behind the secondary for an easy score at midfield on their last possession. Once again it’s the same issue as last year. Probably the most talented team in the State in 1A and probably 2A. The HC and coordinators are pathetic. And I’m being generous. They’ve got 6 Kids that would probably start for any team in the State regardless of classification. Coaches have players in the wrong positions. And continually refuse to play the Best Players on both sides of the Ball. Their Mr Football finalist last year is 6’3” and 240 and played strong side LB except for a Shotgun formation occasionally running up the middle and on xtra points. He should have been out there at Tight End and worked him into the Offense. Either as a Blocker or on Curl Route Passes. He was on the Sideline 90% of the Offensive Snaps last year at McKenzie. Absolutely Ridiculous. A Good Coach would have cruised to a State Championship last year and it’s a total disaster this season. They have cut down on the 14 penalties on average last year to about 10. 13 at McKenzie. I can only say that the Coaches are 100% responsible for Penalties. The rest is up to Kids to make Plays. Penalties are on the Coaches. Period. Great talent normally overcomes average Coaching. They’ve had that luxury for the last 3yrs. This year they don’t just bully teams around and the crows have come home to roost. Coach Morison was kinda like Saban. Had 2 pretty good assistants but was awfully conservative with the Offense considering the talent he had. But the State Championship Team he coached would have gotten torched by last year’s team. So folks until they get overwhelming talent again i expect nothing to change.

They have a decent Collinwood team and Forrest .They’ve already played their toughest games and i look for them to go undefeated short of the Qb getting hurt. Or the Flu getting a bunch of Kids sick or something else unforeseen happening. Their biggest challenges are coming soon enough in the playoffs. I’m 50/50 they get to Chattanooga. And I’m 30/70 on a possible matchup with S. Pitt. I hope MC makes it and I’d love to see that game happen.

Alcoa gets whoever they want from Greenback. Not the other way around. Apparently not a violation because of geographical “open enrollment” policy.

Thanks for your take on it South Town. Sounds like a few bad apples taking the taunting a little too far. Unfortunate. But it happens. I’ve been to games where there was a lot worse said about the Kids of color than making monkey sounds. At least social norms are better than when i was a Kid.

Anytime i hear “monkey” in reference to taunting I’m i totally off base to “assume” that City has a plethora of inner city kids of color? IF I’m totally off base then My Apologies if i was wrong.

Okay i appreciate your honesty in “confirming” that there was a “shameful act” by what your describing done by a “few”. It’s really unfortunate that it happened. It disgusts me whenever there is taunting that is directed at Kids of Color. Especially “if” these “few” included adults. We are all Children of God regardless of the tone of our skin. Bigotry has no place at a HS Football Game EVER.

Cornersville had MC at Their Place. Home Crowd Environment etc. I’ve seen CV play several times recently So no Excuses about getting blown out and having an Attitude about it. And it’s just my opinion but CV fans are pretty much white trash. From their attitude, their clothing, their demeaning and bigoted attitude towards people of color etc. Cornersville is the hairy mole in the armpit of the South. So i can’t hardly blame the kids for acting like they did during the Game while their classmates and parents are just as Bad.

Yeah I’ve spent about 1/2 my life between the 2 places. And Betsy had just Won 2 back to back so i was happy either way. Plus it was nice to see Coach Olive win it in his last season. I think Everyone from Tullahoma was at the Game. Not crazy about that 11am kickoff but i got to see Hampton get smoked right after by Westview and Ty Simpson. And at least they put all the Carter Co folks on the same sideline so it was nice to see some old friends.

Elizabethton Cyclones in 4A grad in 82. Also pull for the Landers up there in 1A. Hampton in 2A. And i have worked with the City games broadcast for a friend. Not a big fan. But seen an awful lot of games at home the last 4yrs. I’ve bounced around Coffee and Lincoln Co after leaving Carter Co 20yrs ago. So I’d suppose that I’m a Tullahoma, City, MC, fan locally. Watched Hampton get annilated by Westview in Chatt after Eliz lost in double OT. So my heart is in ET but I’ve seen an awful lot of the local teams here in Southern MT

I gotcha brother. Time to get back to discussing something we all Love. HS Football. And I’ll reiterate that I’m all in for MC. . They stay healthy i think they make it to Chattanooga. And probably face a tough S Pitt Team. It’s a Game i want to see Happen.
