You are correct. There was some quickness on the field. My opinion is the boys were playing hard because of how they were raised, and they just love football. If they keep playing hard through the end of October then hats off to the coaches. As for speed I’ve seen many smoky bear teams with more overall team speed. This may be the fastest SC team since Obama was in office tho. We’ll have to see team 99 on Friday nights to know how they compare to teams from the past. I know a lot of people at the eastgate-fairgarden unified school district love to read Murphy’s posts so I’ll say this, always be cautious of people who’s actions don’t match their words. I have to agree with you that the team does seem smaller this year. I’m sure there’s some players not at spring practice, but if we are this small I may not even complain about the coaching this year. By the way your name looks very familiar to me. I worked at Cherokee back in the 80s, maybe that’s where I know you from?

Wow. jan71305 replied when she knew I was still posting. I thought jan only replied when Murph was on retirement. So most people will agree with me and think it was funny. Looks like spring practice is going good at dolly’s alma mater. I’m sure Chief is proud.

I enjoyed seeing him visit his old stomping grounds. Always good when a former player visits, especially one of that caliber.

Really don’t understand why you would start spring practice on Cinco de Mayo. 90% of frog alley and 30% of the team is Mexicano. If you don’t respect the culture then the fútbol players will stop giving fútbol de americano a chance. JMO, of course.

I thought 33 had a couple nice blocks. I like what you’re thinking. It seemed like to me OR relied on the trick plays, couldn’t really put together a scheme to drive the ball downfield and score. Was Stanton in charge of the offense? OR on defense gave up some big plays, but played good enough to win. I thought the raptor qb could be a little reckless with the ball. But to me this was a very good high school football game.

Yeah he was. Big, strong, and quick as a cat. I sure was glad biddix got him from bearden. Kid turned out to be a pretty good artist too.

If Oak Ridge has a chance to get this guy, they better take it. Hard to believe, but I hear that O.Ridge has several athletes roaming the halls that do not play football. A young, smart, energetic person like Stevens would have that long line of players coming off that hill during the opening kickoff. Did Lussier take any coaches with him? Will the new coach have the chance to bring some staff? Good luck in the search.
