As someone that knows all of those kids well, Joseph wrestled 106 at big tournaments. By big I mean big national events outside of TN. Nobody is pushing Uhorchuk at 113 so why would he cut for a TN state title when he’ll win one at the higher weight.

So who is 106 that would beat Cordero in A? I hope you’re not talking about Uhorchuk because I hate to burst your bubble, he won’t be 106 at state.

Both kids are great kids. However, wrestling is the one sport that has no room for politics. Just because you’ve been with a program forever doesn’t mean you get given the spot. You earn the spot through a wrestle off!!! Both kids knew there was a wrestleoff…. Just saying you win a spot. Cole won in the beginning of the year and unfortunately for him, Jose won at the end!!! I am not from Cleveland and don’t care for them winning, but to bash Bosken or Knox is crazy. Those dudes are dedicated to growing the sport and are doing a great job of creating a winning culture. This coming from someone that wants to beat them as bad as I want oxygen.

Yes it was right after Jakob lost 6-6 to Mills and then lost to Dupill. I actually got to watch every one of those matches.

Agreed. Chase deserves number 1 being the returning champ. All that will work itself out very soon, but having anyone else ranked above Jakob in that weight is crazy.

Hasn’t wrestled much in TN but beat Gumlick pretty decisively at 120. If you want to see him beat TN kids just pay attention over the next month.

He did place at Beast of the East and beat several good wrestlers. Beat Griere from Alabama at Indian Classic.

If DB brings a full lineup I believe they will surprise some folks. I don’t think there’s a team in the state that brought in a better freshman class. Add those kids to what they already had and they have improved drastically over last year. Look at the score vs Maryville last year and this year. I don’t believe either team lost much.

I’m curious after Summit who the other obvious team is. I don’t think it’s a given Bradley beats Summit either. Seems like that will be a close dual!!!
