  1. Answers coming on the "staff" part of this question, per BGA social media.
  2. Well stated. I would add to that BB recruited middle Tennessee for several years and the idea that he doesn't have an understanding of the region (and state) landscape, in DII-AA specifically, is unlikely at best.
  3. Looks like that question has been answered.
  4. Bill Belichcik it is. He has been known to frequent the Country Boy restaurant in nearby Leiper's Fork...makes sense. Big news if true.
  5. The other 2 finalists are Urban Meyer and Bill Cowher
  6. Time will tell, but it's highly possible that BGA is the big winner in this hiring cycle. Anyone who had questions or concerns about a commitment to football will have answers once the hire is announced.
  7. Splash hire is what I expect.
  8. Ensworth has never hurt for talent, but when Bowers was in charge, he got every player he wanted - hence the consecutive gold balls. Hasn't been the same since he stepped out of coaching...draw your own conclusions. It will be interseting to see which direction they go as far as targeting/acquiring talent with Hasselebeck in charge now.
  9. Finally a name... Absolute legend of a player. He's been coaching I think, but not sure about head coaching experience?
  10. Not in DII. Beat up on...respectfully...a lot of bad teams when David Lipscomb competed in DI.
  11. Nothing. Its a silly, uninformed take. The football has been bad. Sometimes that's a football problem...
  12. I looked it up: https://tssaasports.com/history/results/champions/?sport=football Runners-Up in 2018, 2014, 2002, 1992 State Champs in 2003, 2001, 1998, 1997, 1995 Looks like Roc Batten had them in a good place...did the DEI kick in after he left?
  13. Agree - Hasselbeck is not Dilfer, Ensworth is not Lipscomb, and DII-AA id not DII-AAA. Dilfer was brought in to essentially create a high level program from scratch - hiring staff, upgrading facilities, buying players, etc. Lipscomb had no significant football history prior - Ensworth certainly does, and they don't need facilities, staff, etc. Lipscomb got better quickly because of an injection of talent, and competing in DII-AA. Ensworth has had talent, and they are in DII-AAA. Will be interesting.
  14. I realize message boards were created for stupidity, but this is impressive. Quoting your message so that when the hire is made, we can decide if it's a disaster of a job or not.
  15. Lack of success = lack of excitement and attention...and the last few years have been pretty bad by historical BGA standards. They need the right person to get things back on track.
  16. Yeh that was kinda the point I was making. Staff/Coordinator selections will be interesting.
  17. Tim has never lost a high school game as head coach. He'll be just fine at the mighty E.
  18. Somehow I have a hard time buying this... that the school that has been playing football for 100+ years, has won half a dozen or so state titles, and literally has a statue of a football player on their campus...all of the sudden doesn't care about football? The win/loss record has not been good the last couple years, but they were in the championship game not too long ago.
  19. Seems like the consensus was that Bowers was stepping back in. I wonder what changed. I didn't hear anyone mention Hasselbeck before the announcement on Friday. I wonder how long this has been the plan?
  20. I remember Bradford as a player at McCallie. He was a heck of an athlete and maybe the fastest player I've ever seen on a high school football field. Wish him the best as Head Coach!
  21. This is a good way to look at it. DCA certainly has a good internal option if needed. I would think they at least take a look outside, knowing there was a good option on campus, even if it's just short term stop-gap.
