It's true Cosby plays a slow down style of basketball, and only averaged about 45pts a game because of their lack of shooters. They play 3 players at least 6'5 or better and like to pound the ball inside to the big man who is around 6'8 and a decent defensive player. Lots of back door cuts like a Princeton style offense(Cosby is infamous for this stalling the ball style of play!) Other than the big guys Cosby just isn't that deep, they play 3 freshmen guards because they have too not good for much other than a couple of fouls, turnovers, and getting the ball to the big guys. The 34-1 record is a joke it means nothing, look at Cloudland they are at the Boro with a losing record! Hampton was a much better team than Cosby too bad only the JV team was able to make the trip and the Varsity bus got lost on the way. I would have to think Humboldt by at least 40 or more. Cosby players have never seen an athlete before none of them even play pick-up games in the off season they prefer to focus on football and tennis then. It should be a fun field trip for the Eagles to go watch those Humboldt guys play though. Good luck and God bless.

After seeing Science Hill play at the Arby's classic Greenville vs. Science Hill would be a game i'd love to see. Omar Wattad is a flat out player for SH, i've heard about the transfer from Greenville but haven't seen him play yet. GREENDEVILMOM in your unbiased opinion how good is he?

No way possible Joe can come close to shooting as well anyone in Cosby's starting 5 ,you are assuming i'm someone who doesn't know these players from both schools Joe isn't bad(anyone can play H.O.R.S.E. and shoot well) but he can't even come close to shooting like Dexter , Kelvin ,or even your friend Todd. Again that disipline you speak of has translated to 3 wins as opposed to 13 for cosby, that shows disipline for cosby, like one of the players said they've showed that disipline in beating 2 IMAC teams. I don't care what classification you are in 13-1 is a good record,CCHS had played their share of "scrub teams" and haven't took advantage of it. Cosby has taken advantage in drubbing the "cupcakes they've played therefore a better disiplined team, thats what happens when you have expierenced seniors like cosby. CCHS is young and improving. Don't say its bad basketball it is proven, it has given Cosby about 20 straight years of 20 win seasons. Why can't you just be a fan of the game and enjoy the success of a team that is from the same county? I have heard nothing negative from the cosby players i know about CCHS the only time they've started is when they have been provoked just be happy for your neighbor for being successful. Like in the state tournament the middleton fans and bolivar fans hate each other when they play against each other in the regular season, but at the "boro" many middleton people had bolivar shirts on underneath their middleton shirts so they could stay and cheer for bolivar. Its good to have rivalry but you need to have respect ! Respect others and they will respect you too.

Cosby will get some transfers, the tradition alone will draw a player or 2 in. In the past it always seemed that the cosby players made alot of improvements, its just a basketball school and thats what the kids love to do there. In the past if you really loved the game you wanted to play at Cosby so you transfered. Yes, again CCHS is improving ,next year will be a better year for sure. Maybe now CCHS will be able to keep some of the talent. Sorry caleb1137821 not picking on you but alot of the people that are going to the Cosby games aren't Cosby fans they are just basketball fans, and thats the best place right now to see good basketball.

I will back you up in that CCHS is improving rapidly, i don't see them winning the IMAC or anything but in the next year or so its possible. Again Glenn was very impressive! The other player you mentioned.....well i'll just keep my opinion to myself on that . And again Glenn was so very impressive once he's gets a better handle(not that he can't dribble) he could be something special. Look for a strong finish from the RED they're getting better every game and they are young.

Congrats to CCHS for the nice win! I watched the game, Travis Kelley missed about 8 lay-ups and got abused in the post by that guy about 4 inches shorter than him. CCHS was carried by Glenn all night that kid can play must have had near 30! Terrance played fairly well and Birdsell rebounded very well,Pasternak was very tuff inside. Kelley was on the bench most of the 2nd half so much for your superstar. Glenn is unreal for a soph. can't say enough good things about this kid. Kelley will be alright in the future he has good size CCHS will have better years ahead. As for caleb you guessed right about CCHS winning they are still 3-10 ! Cosby is still 15-20 points better , and judging by your past posts you are seldom right. Why do you act so angry toward Cosby when you post such adolesent ,doltish posts against Cosby it comes off as nothing but jealous. What does it prove for you if CCHS wins you're not on the team you couldn't make it . I guess it just shows the insecurities on your part. Marty Shults was the best player to ever put on a jersey at Cosby check your history! Savard was a player but Webb played selfish and shot alot. Ray Christian was probably the second best player up there ever. If Kelley is better why hasn't Charlie Benson been calling him to play for one of his teams , if he's that good why isn't CCHS's record better? common sense rules no you changed the subject by listing the "greats from Cosby" that didn't play D-1 if you can remeber back that far. How many CCHS players other than Wade and Mickey Stewart have played college b-ball period not just D-1??? hmmm lets think about this Korian doesn't see the floor at King. Jerome played JUCO ball big deal, Ronnie Barrett played at WSCC and droped out.Cosby- Eric Coggins Roane state and Milligan, Ray Christian 4 years at Tusculum led conference in rebounding, John Johnson Roane State, Kent Black King college playing about as much as Korian, Chad Greene 2 years at WSCC. Earl Ward 2 years at Roane State. about the same huh no one really stood out other than Wade and even he acknowledges a difference in the talent level the past 4 years or so.

Plus Bearden won by 23 first game was by 50!! they didn't even start the same players they let the JV play. 18 and 13 for him is his best of the season congrats to kelley. Who said timmy was playing post after highschool first of all he's good enough to play the 3 spot. 2nd of all i've seen 9 D1 games in person this year alone many players listed at 6'6 or bigger aren't that big! Asumnu from UT is closer to 6'4 not 6'6 or 6'7 than i'm a season ticket holder and have met several of the players. Timmy won't be playing in the SEC so yes he could compete in smaller conferences.

Blakley isn't just proving himself at Cosby he did it over the summer in AAU with the Travelers i've seen CCHS play as much as Cosby saying kelley would take Timmy to school is like saying a college team could compete with the Pistons. The difference is that big Timmy is faster, stronger, a much better leaper, and is completly fundamental, he will play college ball possibly at a small D1 school. Its not even close i'm sorry. Ahhh someone is bitter from the beating they took in the Gatlinburg adult league (which was won by a newport team) grow up if you are who i think you're jealous because you just can't play!!! jealousy is a horrible thing i pitty you, you poor guy. should have stuck with football.

I would like to see both teams in the county be competative. Ray Evans did well coaching the freshman a few years back, plus Ray actually has some basketball expierence at highschool and the college level unlike a past coach. and Wade Wester is a great teacher of the game ( if the kids listen and give him the respect he deserves). Terrance might beat Cosbys players 1 on 1 but its a team game and he lacks the instincts that the Cosby players have. Not sure he could hang with Timmy, and i assure u i've played many pick up games with both of them and Timmy is the real deal! CCHS will improve no doubt but this isn't the year they would compete with Cosby. You are right playing teams like Bearden and Greenville will do nothing but make you better CCHS has some good size coming up so I look foward to better years.

Hmmm.....were should i start on this guy? I haven't read anything from anyone from Cosby saying Cosby would win the state. All anyone has said is its gonna be a great season and it appears that it will be. Another thing is if a team like Pigeon Forge can get hot and beat Cosby, why couldn't Cosby get hot and beat a team like Middleton. Cosby isn't just winning games its been absolute blow outs most of the time. They have done what good teams do, they have beat the scrubs to death, and they have pulled out the close wins against the better teams. No one is hyping a state championship from Cosby, but give me one reason why they can't compete for it. Everyone has givin the state to Middleton already,much like everyone had givin the National Title to USC. Guess what thats why you play the games! Anyone, any team can be beaten at any given time. Don't try to take away from a special season because of jealously, it is just ridiculous how everyone gets on this site and all they do is talk trash about other teams and other people. This is highschool basketball these are kids no one has the right to try to tarnish their accomplishments by adding jealous posts, it has gotten to the point that all this site is good for is trash talking and not sports talk, there would be many more Plus memebers if this was taken care of! In closing don't take it out on these kids because of your insecurities of things you never accomplished so you do want them to succeed so you can talk trash! Get over it its suppose to be fun for them and their parents its OK for them to be proud they have that right.
