Our field is also the Football Field/stadium and the track and field arena. Softball has even played on it if their field gets bad. Madison plays on Lambuth's Football field. Many high school's share a field with the football team especially the public high schools. Where does South Gibson play football? And..I would like to add that our "immaculate, turf" field was corporately sponsored by area businesses and I do not think any public school monies were used to purchase it. YMCA plays youth soccer and youth football on it on Saturdays and we have even rented it to Jackson wolves travel club to play some of their important travel games if Jackson fields are bad. I have seen all the nice houses built and being built in Medina so I know your tax base should be well on it's way in your ability to afford a better soccer field.

yeah so no other probs with the refs other than the wires across the field....some refs let the play go on and some refs blow the whistle and then do a drop ball??? not happy with either....the home team knows to avoid the wires but visiting team are at a disadvantage... hence, I do not think this field should ever be used in ANY district play..... This field is an anomaly and therefore our refs are not sure and divided as how to handle it...some let play continue and some stop play and do a "drop ball" this..... to me, is not an acceptable decision either way..This field should not be a field where any recordable play happens....

I agree it was a heck of a good game....I thought we had good officials....two top players from usj and a soccer coach but I didn't agree with the first half whistle when we had advantage and going in to try to score OR the game ending whistle which took away your free-kick. I think letting each play go through would have been a better choice.

Obion doesn't have lights so I hope they would not qualify to host... and, sorry not noah, but you know how I feel about your field...those power lines that cross midfield just mess up play. Doing the drop ball if the ball hits them then drops down is not an acceptable solution for me. D-burg has the new turf field which is playable any-time with great stadium seats and bathrooms and concessions.

we had 3 starters out that game. plus a very short field that we couldn't adapt. one starter will be back after one more game (got a red against Madison). one starter is out all season with a broken arm. Our other starter hopefully will be back next week.

oh no...the OMG game was the 2-0 win of Obion over D-burg....SMH....uh...uh...uh....apparently we are not as deep or good as I lead you to believe....

Covington may have a team we are under-estimating. Brighton lost to C-ton. And Brighton had some solid players.... It may be an interesting season....good for West Tn!!!! bout time for us to be more competitive.....

d-burg got SCHOOLED today by Madison 0-4. Madison has the whole package.

I think a mercy rule or agreement between coaches is a good thing. It seems that when a score differential gets that big that things can start to get ugly on and off the field. It used to happen a lot in NW TN but It doesn't happen as much as it used to as many school's soccer programs seem to be catching up to one another. Thank goodness. Nevertheless, it still does happen and so I think a rule or agreement it is a good thing.

however! I think our goal that they called offsides was the wrong call. I was on the line and I swear we were on. I am waiting to see the film.

According to the coach and my son...Yes it was the right call. Our guy took the Madison guy out. It was a bad foul.

Thanks pal.....i don't know why, suddenly, these refs seem so touchy....I got called down last year and it was just ridiculous...Some of our parents that are also b-ball fans and football fans are just STUNNED at how soccer refs seem to be determined to inter-act with fans....I am not always a "class act": but thank you for that. I get fired up like all fans....! hahahahaha! It is a beautiful game and my throat ALWAYS gets parched from participating and letting refs know that they did not do what I THOUGHT they should do....haahahahaha!

The fans were separated tonite because at the game against Chester Co. on tues. nite our student section moved down after to half near and behind the Chester fans and some of their fans got upset with our kids. Our Bunch was warned by the center ref and calmed down. In order to avoid a similar situation a decision was made to try to avoid the same issue. Despite this....a Lexington parent was escorted out by the police at the bequest of the refs and all the crowd was told that any future dialogue with the refs would result in the game being ended? I know the refs can clear the stands but I do not think they can just stop a game. Don't know....

Dyersburg over Lexington 3-2 Sheffield over Madison 2-0

I think Sheffield will take Madison. Sheffield seems to have a solid team and I think they will surprise Madison. The D-burg Lexington game will be close and physical (hope the refs are ready). Lexington has an amazing keeper and a solid team. D-burg has the home advantage with amazing fan support and our turf field takes getting used to. (we beat Madison 1-0 this year on this field) The ball moves faster. Gonna be an interesting night!
