The closest thing I would think would have been 2 years ago when Halls played Farragut for the AAA Championship. They were in districts 3AAA and 4AAA respectively, which were in the same region.

Wow, I am completely blown away that Farragut made it to the championship game. At the beginning of this year, I didn't even think that they would make it out of the District Tournament. I've gotta give a thumbs up for Tommy Pharr (sorry I've never been sure how to spell his name). Heck, why not 2. It is unbelievable what he has done to a team with such young, unexperienced talent on it. Congratulations to you guys on making it this far. I won't lie, it does turn my stomach to think that we beat both of the teams in the championship game this year, but hey, they pulled through when they needed to and we didn't. I say go Admirals all the way! Let District 4AAA still have the championship in our name. Its been a great year for you all, keep it up and win it all.

Found it a shock that Collierville beat Farragut? I thought Collierville was very good this year. Could definitely see them going deep in the tournament if not winning it.

Alright, well I really don't have a dog in this fight because I live on the other side of the state, but I just saw this and HAD to say something. You're going to compare a team that is known statewide and has been amazing over the past however many years to someone like Mt. Juliet or Beech? Please, if you are going to compare a raw team like Christian Brothers, compare them to a team that at least made it to the state tournament in AAA.

So please me out here...I have never heard of the team called Ravenwood. Where are they from? What kind of players do they have? I don't think I've ever seen one post on CoachT about them.

Stonewall, you make some great points there. I mean, you all do have one of the best schools in state athletics wise. Its very true about everyone coming out to shove it in your face whenever you lose. But hey, a team with as much hype and status as D-B, everyone expects them to win, and when they don't...well the school is prime for insults. I guess you could say you're a team everyone loves to hate. Thank you Stonewall for showing more maturity than other D-B faithfuls on CoachT.

You know, it seems that regardless the times that I say how good you all were this year and congratulate your team on their success, and even apologize for offending anyone from D-B, you still can't look past the little things that have been said. Take a freakin' compliment or apology and let it go. If you want to know where you all talk so much just go look through your posts on D-B: How good are they this year?, D-B Indians: Loaded and Ready. The 2 titles are pretty much self explanitory about how much everyone there thinks the world of the team. So there is your proof. Please, ask ANYONE who isn't a D-B fan on CoachT of which AAA team talks the most of their team and you will get a clear answer. My point exactly. And please show some maturity here, it is absolutely pointless to continue to argue about something as trivial as this. You know I'm right, I know I'm right, and everyone else on CoachT who reads this knows I'm right.

Wow, settle down bwang. Seems like we're having a little temper tantrum like a 12 year old, just calm down buddy. I am being annoying with this? I apologized to you guys if I offended you, and you're trying to go off on me, just settle down man. Its ok, your season is over, our season is over. Move on, let it go, and stop trying to start stuff. People like you are the reason D-B gets trashed so much. Other ones like WacoJaco and Bud and some of those other guys show some class in their posts. All you like to do is go insane on people if they say a word about your beloved Dobyns-Bennett. Learn to accept people talking about you or possibly even critisizing you. Anytime we would lose a game this year, all I'd ever see on CoachT is how South-Doyle got embarrassed and all this. You don't see me saying anything and going psycho on people for no reason. Just accept a loss and let it go man. Please, show a little more maturity out of all of this, on behalf of EVERYONE on CoachT. And by the way, yeah, you all did talk about how you beat us and all that, but that's cool I really didn't have a problem with it. We were outplayed and there were no excuses to our loss. Alright, I'll let the secret out, cause 1 and 1 wants to know who I am even though my signature pretty much points it out. I'm not scared to tell or anything, honestly I don't even care if everyone knows who I am. For those of you who don't know where I go, its South-Doyle. Well I did go there at least, just graduated. I apologize for my former bashing of D-B on the threads. I root for all District 4AAA teams. I just want them to do well and prove to everyone else that its the best district in the state. I don't mean to appear offensive to anyone in what I say, I just try to prove a point, and if I have offended any D-B fans, I'm sorry. I've just never liked a team that runs their mouth all year about how good they are. So there ya guys go, the cat's out of the bag. I went to South-Doyle. Just read my signature and you'll see that. And about rooting for my team, I really don't like to come on here and talk about them very much, I just like to reply to topics that I find interesting.

Thank you bizazz for actually saying something like that about D-B. They did run their mouths all year about how they were going to make state, I remember at least 3 posts that had about 12 pages of information about how good they were going to be this year and would win state. Honestly though bwang, I don't recall as much talk going on about South-Doyle or Halls. The most I saw from anyone was a close race between you guys and USJ. I don't remember any 18 page threads going on about how South-Doyle or Halls were God's gift to baseball or anything. Heck, our biggest fan and supporter got kicked off CoachT so we really couldn't say much. Bizazz was definitely right though, you expect so much out of a team with such great talent as yours, and when your team doesn't come through in the clutch, people will talk and wonder why you don't have anything to say anymore. You all ran your mouths all year and it finally came back to you. I predicted it at the beginning of the year, the run would end at Sectionals. But hey you guys shouldn't be too down on yourselves, you had a great season and won a lot of good games and won your region (again). I'm sure there will be another state run next year.

Nothing really offensive aimed toward Dobyns-Bennett on this remark, but it seems as if all year they talked of how the WILL make it to state no doubt. Now they have been beaten by Farragut and no one there can as much as congratulate them on their victory in a hard fought game. I would definitely like to see some more class out of a team than that.

Farragut bats have been on fire lately. Their 1-5 guys are potent in the lineup and the rest of the lineup has been doing pretty well too. We (South Doyle) played DB in a scrimmage at the beginning of the year and I think you all pitched the Joyce kid and he was a very good pitcher. My only thing is is that if Catapano throws like he did against us the district tournament or against Halls in the region, Farragut is going to win. I honestly think it will all come down to how he pitches on Friday night. Should be a definite low scoring game.

After playing both teams this year and realizing the skills that they both have, this will be a great matchup. Farragut started the year a little shaky but have turned it completely around in the late season and district tournament. Dobyns-Bennett, like always has won their region. Both of these teams are extrememly talented with great pitching and hitting. Although Dobyns-Bennett has the edge with hitting, I believe with Catapano on the mound for Farragut, they get shut down in this game. No offense to DB, but over the course of the past 2 or 3 years, they have choked in the big games against Region 2 teams. Should be a fantastic game but I think Farragut advances to the Spring Fling...again.

Yeah, you all were a class act this year and really turned out to be a huge surprise to everyone. I mean honestly, I don't know if anyone expected you all to make it this far after losing so many good seniors last year and with so many young players on your team. Congrats to you guys for turning the season around and I agree with jacket, represent us well out there. One thing I will say from experience and having played the team, you really do not want to play Dobyns-Bennet in Sectional. They are a legit team and have a definite chance to win state. So you all really need this game against Karns tonight. Good luck to you guys the rest of the way.

I was simply going by ranking as an upset. I really don't find that much of one either. Its just that a #2 beat a #1. That's the upset.

There were two upsets in Region 2AAA. The #2 seed Karns, from District 3AAA upset the #1 seed Bearden from District 4AAA. The #2 seed Farragut, from District 4AAA upset the #1 seed Halls from District 3AAA.

Yeah, if he is the one that goes to Gibbs. But I just kind of threw a name out there, number 3 on the Yard team, I really can't remember. I played on the 17U Yard team last summer and I really can't remember anyone's number.

Yeah, very sad loss for South Doyle. We fought hard the whole game, Chad Bell pitched an amazing game for SD and Catapano did for Farragut just as well. Congratulations to Farragut for the victory tonight, although it did kind of sadly end my senior year at South Doyle. You all deserve it. You outplayed us and got the berth in the Region tournament. Kudos to you guys on turning the season completely around. And one last thing, please, Bearden and Farragut, whoever it may be that plays Halls, take them out of this tournament. Go District 4AAA! It definitely is the top district in the state, and you all need prove it out there. I hope you both advance to state. GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU GUYS.
