  1. Winning games comes down to who you are matched against and the tournament will test your pitching depth. #4 and #5 have to go against the #1 seed and will have to beat them twice and still face the winner of the opposite side of the bracket. #6 and #7 play the #2 seed and if they beat them twice they do not have to beat the winner from the opposite side of the bracket to advance. #6 and #7 have a better draw than #4 and #5. Oakland's win over Siegel last night earned them the opportunity to try to beat Riverdale twice and the winner of the other bracket. Siegel is not too disappointed because they ended up with a better draw. If Oakland had lost last night they would be going to Cookeville. You should have been able to figure this out Coach21. Are you really a Coach?
  2. Dodrill is the best defensive catcher in Murfreesboro.
  3. The format is not exactly fair to some of the teams. #4 and #5 have to beat the #1 seed and then beat the winner from the other half of the bracket to advance. #6 and #7 have to beat the #2 or #3 seed and they are going to the Regions.
  4. If you can find where I said he would come back and dominate all of you please show me. You continue to misquote me. If the Hartness brothers are no longer playing you guys should be the team to beat. I would like to see the tennis team win the State before basketball does.
  5. How soon we forget. You said your game was at a level he was never at. Go back and read it. I call it trash. Maybe you have another word for it.
  6. It only takes two or three good players to make a basketball team. Can't compare it to baseball or football.
  7. I have not taken anything away from Kyle. A good player who has worked hard and has made great strides in the last year. Let it rest Hoolie.
  8. Well 2priceless, He could tell you better than I. I am a fan of tennis and I have watched all of these guys for years. To be brief, He played in two Southern Closed tournamnets (only 12-15 from Tennessee qualify in each age group). This tourny is for the best kids in the Southeast (excluding Florida, they have there own tourny). I think Wishing is the only other player from Siegel to accomplish this. He played in multiple designated events in every state in the Southeast excluding Florida. The designated tournaments are for the top 64 players in the Southeast that decide to enter. Some of the top players do not always enter and that opens the door for other players. He was seeded in some of these tournaments and beat some seeded players along the way. His final ranking in the 14's according to the USTA website was #74 in the South. His game started to fall off after that because of baseball. That's the part that his detractors remember most. My personal opinion is that he had to make a decision on devoting even more time to tennis in order to crack the top 50. To do this and continue to play baseball would be extremely difficult. The top 50 in the South are enormously talented and have superior mental toughness. Zack definitely had the physical skills to get there. He decided to play baseball and the rest is history. You appear to be a big fan of his. What is the connection if you don't mind my asking?
  9. I think you forgot what you wrote Hoolie. Go back and read it. I think your fingers get ahead of your brain when you are typing. You said your game, and others on the Siegel team, has advanced to a level that he was never at. That's trash. You said if he were still playing he would be at best #2, or #3. That's trash. He was better than all of you when he quit and there is no reason to think that would change if he were still practicing and playing. Your posts are opinion oriented. My posts can be backed up by his record and accomplishments.
  10. Multiply your schools attendance by 1.8 and that number is used to determine your classification.

    best pitching

Underland is good, Choate is average, and the rest have yet to prove anything.
  12. I think Z-JO is the only one who transferred out of the Oakland zone and he is not playing. He was on the '03 team that went to State.
  13. You must be Z-JO. Why do you let Hoolie talk all that Smack? I know you qualified in 12's and I think you qualified in 14's too (Macon, GA). Hoolie has never qualified and never will. I know you guys are friends but you are too kind and too much of a gentleman for letting him trash you.
  14. Anybody can play in the qualifier Hoolie.
  15. Until you say something intelligent Hooligan I cannot let you have the last word. 6-6 after walking off the baseball field and juggling two sports at the same time is more impressive than your 8-6. For an average player you can sure talk some smack. This kid competed in the Southerns and several designated events and you want to tell us how your game has reached a level he was never at? C'mon Hoolie. I don't blame you for skipping the qualifying to go on vacation. Nothing personal but your game is not at the level required to qualify for Southern's anyway. Serious players work their vacations around the most important tournament of the year. Don't get your big head trapped in the Maui sand.
  16. I don't think it will ever happen. The County is not going to sink money into tennis because the interest is not there unfortunately. Example......Oakland boys went to the state in '03 and '04 but couldn't field a team this year.
  17. You can contact Siegel High in Murfreesboro at 615-904-3800.
  18. No chance. Not enough pitching.
  19. Someone has to tell the truth on here Hoolie. Don't confuse your high school success with your USTA record. Beating up on high school players that play 2 months out of the year is not a way to judge that your game has advanced. The real season starts next month with the state qualifying. Let us know how you do.
  20. I heard that he was in the line up. No details.
  21. The reason the high school rule is different, like many other high school rules, is to speed up the game. Allowing the coach two visits per inning before removing the pitcher would slow the game down. Same reasoning for courtesy runners for the pitcher and catcher.
  22. Lefty threw tonight. Kennet pitched Monday at White County. I think Faust (another lefty) is going tomorrow.
  23. Who I am is not important Hoolie. I never said you did not beat him in a tourney. It is well known that you beat him after the high school baseball season wrapped up last year and he had little time to prepare. I have seen your USTA record, ranking, etc., and it speaks for itself. It does not compare to Zack's when he was playing. How many Southern tournaments have you qualified for? Like I said, Jones and Wishing are the only two at Siegel that have had any measurable success on the USTA jr circuit. If you could only give credit where it is due we could end the discussion. If he were still practicing and playing it is reasonable to assume that he would still be #1. Good luck to all the Siegel players in the tournament.
  24. I agree with 2priceless. Bowen has had a great year with the bat and deserves some credit but Z-JO is rock solid at second base and has a great understanding of the leadoff hitter's role. He is the best defensive player on the team excluding Carlton who recently returned. But we all know that hitting is what gets the headlines.
