  1. The Cougars will have Mountain Goat stew Friday night. Coast to coast on that recruiting matter. You going to the game Billy?
  2. Binns, Thats ok, really wanted steak anyway. What is your score prediction for Friday night?
  3. Thanks Binns, I got a chicken wing dinner and a free ride to Lawrenceburg riding on your answer. My prediction (THS 35 LCHS 13).
  4. Ask Binns, As we all gather around the water fountain the big question came up. What is John Olive's Won/Loss record with teams that have a winning record? Some of us think its less than .333. I know you are the man Binns. Settle this for us.
  5. Franklin County Rebels will charge into South Pittsburg and sink the Pirates 42-21. Dixie will be heard all over town.
  6. O.K. I'll give it my best shot. Since Moore Co. can't kick it in the ocean for PATs. Moore County 25 Huntland 21. Goes down to last minute befor the Raiders pull it out. Just for fun.
  7. I think Cascade has a easy time with Huntland. Champions 41 Hornets 12.
  8. It should be a good game. I think LC will prevail in this one. LC 27 THS 20.
  9. Blue Raiders over the Hornets 14-7.
  10. Wildcats over the Lions 23-21. Should be a good game.
  11. MTCS wins in a close game. Maybe 20-13.
  12. How about a triple overtime shootout with someone going for two and the win?
  13. Yeah, that is the consensus around here in Tiny Town U.S.A. but you never know. Always heard that defense is the key to victory but the best defense is a great offense. Moore County sure does need a little success. It has been a long dry spell around here.
  14. Well if Christian and Price do not coach that would leave only one job opening for a new asst. coach. Sounds like we may be in for a two man staff. I guess Mooney could coach.
  15. Yeah, Head Coach real soon....LOL
  16. 0 Head Coaching experience is not a bad thing. I bet that even The Great Smith had no Head coaching experience at one time and even Mac's first head coaching job was at MC. Mcdaniel's first job was at MC. All coaches have to have that first job. Why not take a chance on a local coach that really wants to be at MC. Bigredbird, you know win or lose Smith won't be at MC long. You know that he really wants to be in Nashville. Also experience does not make you qualified or the right pick for ever job that comes open. Several schools passed over Smith just in the last few weeks and hired less experienced coaches.
  17. I thought he won four games last year. I'm not just saying he will be fired for losing games within three years, I am saying that even if he wins and isn't fired, he will leave for greener pastures. I don't know Smith and only know what I have read about him. I did find his online resume and read it. (You can find it at http://www.coachbook.ning.com/profile/BScottSmith) I just don't see him staying away from the Nashville schools and/or higher classifications if he proves he can win again at Moore County. I think his track record of moving on after a few years speaks for it's self. The man is taking at least a $15K pay cut to take over your program... be very thankful. The last two coaches that had no head coaching experience left because they could not get along with locals and the darn county politics. McDaniel won state at Oakland and Matthews will do a great job at SHS. He took a pay cut because no one else would hire him. And thats just the point. He won't be in Lynchburg very long. No one takes a pay cut because they want to. Smith had no choice.
  18. I think you are right on track with what much of Raider supporters are thinking. I think that Principal Mooney did this on his own while Director Moorehead stood by let Mooney make this mistake. It has hard for me to understand why Mooney wanted Smith. If you are a really succesfull coach and you have been doing well at bigger schools why step down to little old Lynchburg unless you are desperate which I think Smith was. If Smith wins he will be gone in two years and if does not he will be gone in two years. This job at Moore Co. is just a bridge till he can do better. His track record proves this out.
  19. It is good to have that cleared up.
  20. Scott Smith is not interested in the East Lit. football coaching position. Coach Brown, Why is he not interested? Others think he is considering.
  21. Some rumor of Scot Smith who has just got the Moore County job is somewhat interested if certain conditions are met by the administration at East LIT.
  22. I agree. From what I have heard, the Principal and Director of Schools jobs may be on the chopping block before long. Seems like board members are not happy. Unhappy players, coaches, parents and supporters spells disaster.
  23. He currently has no job, so any job is better than none. Being invited out of town on his last job does not say much for his ability. He won that 1A ring at Ezell which everyone knew Ezell recruited some of those players in a round about way. I know that someone is going to dispute that but it is what it is. The area coaches know this. He also was known for unsportsmanlike conduct at Ezell. Ezell gave him a nice welcome out of town. Why MC would even bother with him. If he has success which I doubt, he would be gone in a flash to bigger and better things. If you research him on the net you will see that he was looking for a job out of state on Jan. 20, 2010. Why put your student-athletes through that? I know for a fact that some of the College coaches think he is full of it.
  24. Word on the streets is that the job has been offered to Scot Smith. 89-91 NCS 92 Minor league somewhere 92-96 Antioch 96-98 Greenbrier 98-99 Antioch 99-04 EHCS 05-06 Independence 07-09 Science Hill , resigned under pressure after his team went 4-6 last season. His three seasons resulted in 14-17 record and just one play-off appearance. Sounds like MC is looking at a couple more 3-7 seasons. Smith is disliked by several middle Tn. Coaches. Moore County football deserves better than this. A house divided will not stand. News of his hiring has already caused some issues inside the High School. Maybe enough people can get to the members of the school board and get this hiring stopped in its tracks. Person or persons involved with this hiring should be fired on the spot. Smith will get more Christmas cards in July than wins this fall.
  25. If your thinking about a Coffee County Raider I would have to say "Bad for Moore County Raiders"
