  1. Way to go ladies! You made East Tennessee very proud. Cyclone Dad
  2. Saw my first softball game of the year last week Unicoi 1 Elizabethton 0 in ten innings. It was one of the best pitching duels I've seen in a long time. Kara a freshman pitched for Unicoi and Katie Robinson a Sophomore pitched for Elizabethton. Best $4.00 I've spent in a long time. Must agree that we will be hearing a lot about Kara the next four year!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. Though I would do one last post now that the season is over and 00's will be moving on. Disappointing loss yesterday to PF by a 4-2 score. Looked like EHS was going to take it until the 6th inning when we gave up 4 runs. PF is a good ball team but we should have came away with a win. I'm sure Hardin will get the blame which I guess is part of being a coach but the Lady Cyclones will have to cut down on the mental and physical errors if they plan taking it to the next level. This group of seniors have won 101 games which is nothing to be ashamed about. To Coach Hardin I would say: glad to see us playing a little more small ball this year. Keep learning the game. To the young pitchers: work hard - you don't realize how good you can really be. To the parents: support your coach and realize he will get better and better. To the other players: wear the orange and black proudly. To Charlie: wish you were still here watching To Shannon, Randy, Dave - keep pushing! To Hub: and you thought it was jaws!!!! As dandy Don use to sing on Monday night football: turn out the lights the party's over. 00's Dad
  4. Well the end has come for this softball dad and I just had to leave one last post. I've heard for more years than I care to remember about this and that about the Unicoi fans. We played Little League All Stars against L Hopson and J Mason, then Junior High ball,High School and even travel ball. In all those years, nine to be exact, both the fans and players have been great. I will miss watching Jess and Lauren play and talking ball with Denny and Momma Mason. I hope you lay an old fashion whooping on Pigeon Forge! From an EHS fan and 00's father. (Jess, I guess you want get that strikeout we talked about /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )
  5. Class act coming from a class family! Hope the Lady Devils go all the way this year. From a EHS fan. (a big Hi from 00's family) /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  6. I remember the days when EHS had trouble winning five games a year and now your in the conference hunt. I can also remember attending more than one Eastman tournament when EHS came away without a single win /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> My how quickly we forget how bad it use to be. I believe if EHS wins 25 games this year they will have won 100 games over the past four years. I'll bet if someone could get the score books for ages past that you could not find 100 wins of all the previously years combined. I have watched the three coaches before Hardin and except for Rick B. none gave their time, effort, and care like your current coach. The problem with EHS is they have more coaches in the stand than on the field!
  7. Does anyone know if Edgar is playing this year?
  8. You got that right - I can't remember when I attended a game where there were so many hits!

After watching the game against EHS I really expected Unicoi to score a lot of run can you fill me in on how it went?
  10. I doubt it will be in our life time! There is a ump from Carter County that was asked by two different teams that they never wanted him back and after I saw him ump a game I know why! I understand that he made sure to tell all his other ump friends that both these teams were trouble makers when in fact his blindness was the real trouble. It seemed that the lady umps were far better umps this year and I'm not a women!
  11. From the details of your post I guess it is a stupid question to ask who won but what was the final score? While the umps in Upper East Tennessee for the most part are as bad as I have seen over the past 15 years I must say the guy behind the plate in Rutledge vs EHS wasn't someone I would sign-up to ump the state tournament. His strike zone was the size of a BB which which coupled with a bunch of errors really hurt EHS.
  12. I'm betting Unicoi in five! I'm sure you will make Upper East Tennesss proud!
  13. I doubt anyone asked for a refund after watching the two games tonight. I agree that it's one of the stronger years for the Watauga Conference. Good luck girls !!!!!!
  14. Read the Press everyday and haven't seen much about Watauga Conference. Local news doesn't seem to be their strong suite.
