My vote would have to go to Robbie Tolley from Cloudland. A very strong player, and some one who has had tons of experience. Also makes it easier when you have MarK Byrd creating plays. Nothing else like CHS football thats for sure. Good times or bad, we have really came a long way. And i for one am very proud of what we have done. You deserve it all!!! Dont worry though, CODY JONES, Possum, and King will be back next year to lead the landers to another unbeaten season. Just keep working hard and getting better and i cant wait for next season to begin. With each year theres more chances to prove what your made of, so just make good on them. Yeah the plays late really hurt us, but in most high school playoff games 30 pts is enough to come out on top. I really dont think that the offense is what hurt us, cause from the stats it looks as if they did their job. It was the pass defense that costed us the game! CAK threw over Benfield countless times, all benfield could do was run with his hands up hoping the ball hit him in the head or back. In my opinion thats a lack of coaching, when is a good time to realize what is going on and switch it up??? The last pos. of the game! Dakota was playing way out of position and so was Bryd. Benfield isnt a corner and Bryd is a natural safety. What does everyone else think???? The last drive cloudland had it was 3rd and 2 and they did the sweep. And then that turned into 4th and around 2 or 3. Both times he did the same play, pitch to benfield. In my opinion this was a time to start with a power lead and then if you were still stuck with a 4th down, then thats when you put the ball in Bryds hands. He was the big play maker all year, so on the biggest play of the year its only smart to put it in his hands. So sneak or play action. Both would have been game winning calls in my book!

Hey CAK fans, you need to look past the upset on cloudland. No more well you said this about Cloudland and we did this to them and they didnt do this. None of that matters now. Yeah you might have lucked up and Cloudland might have underestimated you, but i wouldnt look for any of the other teams to do so. For one, all the other teams such as Midway have played you all and know what to expect. Also Cloudland had you all down, and then did excatly whatevery one knew would get them beat. And that was an outstanding passing night from CAK. I wish CAK all the luck in the future rounds, because in my opinion you'll need all you can get, especially if you make the mistake of getting on here and getting the big head over upsetting Cloudland. Then teams like Midway and South Pitt. or Boyd are going to make it a point to shut you up and prove you wrong. Just think about it!! Anyway..........Good luck to all the teams still in the hunt for the championship!!!!

I have to give it to the CAK fans, atleast they show good faith on here. But inside everyone already knows the outcome of this game! Its always good to think and hope for the best though. I admire that out of the CAK fans!!!! As for myself, I think i will do what i do every friday night in Roan Mtn........wait until after halftime to show up! This way i dont have to pay and i am there to watch and then tell the time congratulations on a big win! I mean no offense but every week people on coacht say it will be a touch hard fought ball game, and every week its a brutal mess of a game. I mean i dont want to go and just see Bryd run for 150 yards and 1 td and dakota run for 25 yards and 5 td, LOL One does the work the other gets the stats. Its not right really. The one that works it down the field should get to finish it. But anyway, i enjoy watching the second string much more. Its almost an equal match on most nights. I mean Cloudland is still better no matter what string but its just fun to watch. As for shutting down the offense, that still means that you have to prove that you can score. Something most teams this year have only been able to accomplish on the 3rd or 4th string! As for the Cloudland fans on here, dont build up the secondary like that. I mean its still weak, very weak. Especially against the pass. We saw that some last week. And King still hasnt proven that he can make the takles when he needs to. He has great hands but leaks alittle speed and takling ability. The good thing for him is that he as a outstanding front, so the ball rarely even gets 5 or 6 yards. Cloudland, something else you should think about is kicking. The last few games you have just took the easy 2's. Just remember that those 2's wont always be as easy. And if and when your in a tough close game the extra point could make all the difference. So if the game does turn out to be a blow out, take the time to work on finding someone who can make the kicks for you! If you are talking about great players you would havet to mention Brandon Jones CLOUDLAND High 2000-2001! He run the forty easy in the low 4.4's. Had over 1,800 rushing and missed 2 games due to injury. Was voted MVP for the Johnson CIty Press elite eleven, and got player of the week honors many times. At the end of his senior season he avg. a crazy 10.4 yards a carry, and never had a game below 120 yards. He 130+ yards in the first round of the playoffs agains Oliver Springs and 120+ against a very tough and eventually 3-A state champs Austin East. Just my opinion but the others that you all mentioin were very good players also!

I am also a Cloudland fan, and i didnt listen to the game on the radio. I actually made the trip, and one thing i can say is Fanning is overrated. For her to be named as one of the top three players in the State (1A), thats just crazy. I stayed and watched all the games and i could pick 12 girls just as good if not better. As for the shoot from her knees, it was cool but nothing great. A jv boy for us hit on laying on his back. WHY DIDNT HE GET NAMED MR. BASKETBALL. We have played against much better. And i know she gets assist, but 10 pts a game. Come on. If we keep assist we would have girls have as many as here. And that avg. atleast 12 to 18. So i dont get all the fuss about this player. I dont hold this opinion alone either, i talked to many at the games. From all over the state and they all seemed to hold the same opinion. I have watched both teams play, and i have to say that i think its anyones game. UH will be better off since they play on a bigger court the whole season. And about Bradley getting tired, I really doubt it. He is young and fit and should be able to run with Cosby the whole game. Against Cloudland Cosby didnt really show me much. But of course Cloudland beat UH twice so its all up for the taking. My pick is UH by 4. Good luck to all teams representing EAST TN!

I think it all depends on how good MC's post is. I have heard a little about her and she sounds tough. But in the picture gallery she didnt look very big. So it all depends on how Amy Storie for Cloudland plays against her. Also the Lady Landers need to come out early and make some early baskets. Last year they looked awful in the first periods. The guard play for each team is what i think will decided the game though. The team whos guards step up and make the big shots and dont turn the ball over will win. Hey anonymous123, i dont know where you go to school or who you are and honestly i am gald i dont. No one is talking trash and saying that the Landers are going to walk down there and come back with the Gold Ball. And we are doing is saying good luck and hoping for some good wins. So wheather the Landers get beat or win, i am sure everyone will be just as proud of them either way. I dont think anyone is going to look stupid in anyway if the landers lose their first game. I am sure there are many teams that would love to just make the trip to the boro', even if they lost the first one. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THIS ONE, if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all. LOL And to the Lady Landers, dont worry about what anyone says, everyone is pulling for you girls and they are all behind you the whole way. Carter County does care about Girls basketball ball. HEY thats what is giving me this road trip tomorrow. lol To the football team, just because you didnt make it to the Boro' doesnt mean you should put down the lady landers. Everyone was at the games cheering you on, and i think you should show the same respect and class and be happy for you Landers and wish them the best of luck. I hope to see alot of the Roan Mtn. What is this pick on NOTJUSTAFAN week. LOL No i am just kidding. I take all responsiblity for all my mistakes on my post. I got all the info from Coacht and i took alot of my team to look it all up. So i am sorry for any mistakes that i might have made. No for goosevol, i dont know where you get your info on teams, but you really need help. As soon as i saw your post i knew that you were way off. So i took it on myself to correct you! First off i would just like to say that every state needs a website like COACHT. Its so hard to find info on teams. Now.......first off North Buncombe, you stated they had only won 7 games. Well after looking them up i found they had actually went 17-8 for the season. And finished 3rd out of 10 teams in the conference. Then i looked up Watauga, and couldnt find much but a schedule that only had 6 games of theres posted. In those six they had one 3. Just from the Tournament we were in i knew they won atleast 2 they they schedule didnt show. How i know they won 2 is because they were they team we defeated in the Championship game. So i call up a friend on mine that attends Watauga High (i use to go to school in NC) and he said that he wasnt postitive but he knew that they had won atleast 11 games on the season that he knew for sure. Now for the Indian Pines team, what happened was someone had put it wrong on the site. What they really meant to put is Union Pines from Cameron NC (had to dig out the tourny book for that info). And thats why u couldnt find info on them. Well anyway after looking them up i found that they finished 14-10 on the season. Even though i know these records might not look the best in the world, trust me for them to be playing in the divison and against the teams they play its really a good record. I bet most of you have never seen a big NC team play. Well i have watched many of them, and i can tell you that they skill level of play is far higher. They never get to play easy games like Jay Frank White (just an example). For example, Most of the teams i listed above spilt with a Mitchell Co team from NC. And this team is playing Saturday at Chapel Hill, NC for the North Carolina State Championship game. (Good Luck to them also) With that said i wish all teams making the trip to the boro the best of luck. I leave tomorrow, so i hope to see some great ball games being played. GO CHS!!!!!!!!

Your are very true on your statements! The girls do tend to just throw the ball up there. But Amy has gotten alot better and has a good shot when she has an open look. But being the big girl on court means that the other team will be out for you. So this makes Amy have to change her shot, which causes her to just throw it up there. But when its need i have complete faith that Amy can make the big shots. As for the play of the Guards, Nicki and Holly have really stepped it up in the Tournaments. They both are making big shots when they have to. Which takes alot of pressure off of Amy and Tara. If the girls just come out and play their game and shoot like they can, then i see great things in their future. GOOD LUCK LANDERS!!!

Hey hooters, why are you even talking about OS. They already got sent home if you havent heard yet. Anyway why are you making statements about a 2A team beating 1A teams. If you think about it, a 2A team should be able to easily beat a 1A team. But i dont think your statement could be backed up. I think atleast one team and probably more could beat OS. First off to Oneidafan, You dont have to hate just because you are sitting at home when we are playing in the Boro'. You are free to make the trip anyway. LOL And the about the series being 5-5 or 6-4 either way, thats way off. I have been to EVERY lander ball game, and i can tell you right now you didnt get to see the Lander team that i see night after night. If we would have played 10 games then u would get to see what i see. U at most would get 2 out of 10. And thats just giving you the fact that Cloudland would have to play at your school, and you might could pull it off at your home court. And who has ever been happy with winning 3 quarters! The landers did what they had to do to win. Weather that be lead all quarters by one or lose 3 they still got the Win. About us playing again after Wendsday, who knows. Moore County has lost to both Ezell and Harriman, so i think we have a great shot of advancing to the second round. Here is the difference between our teams---SIZE SIZE SIZE. I have said it a million times. All we had to do is put both our 6-2 girls in at the same time and feed them the ball and the game would have been ugly. And for your information, i did play ball for Cloudland. And guess what my picture will be hanging in the halls soon. CAN YOU SAY THE SAME???? My team went 23-7 and i was one of the only two single A players named to the ALL-UPPER EAST TN team 1A-5A. Trust, i know my ball. Now what about you Oneidafan??? Lets her about all your wanna be skills. Now to 23CHOC and everyone else who says that Cloudland wins because of the teams they play. I took the time to do this for you all: Cloudland: 29-4 overall 10 out of 11 against 2A schools -2 of the 2A teams played in the 2A sub-state games!- 16 out of 17 against 1A schools Beat 3 4-A teams in NC and won the Tourny Oneida: 19-13 overall Only team faced that wasnt 1A was York Institue, who they lost two both times (51-42)&(58-37). And York Institue didnt advance past the Regional Tourny. Harriman: 30-5 overall 29 out of 30 against 1A teams 1 out of 5 against 2A teams The 2A teams that beat them were Oliver Springs and Kingston. Kingston didnt advance past regional, and neither did Oliver Springs. Moore Co.: 32-4 overall won 25 out of 27 vs. 1A teams spilt 1 out of 2 with 2A Lincoln Co. 4 out of 5 against 3A teams The Lincoln Co. team (2A) that they spilt with was 8-17 on the season and didnt reach past the district tourny. And the other 2A team they played was 14-15 on the season. The 3A teams that they faced were Lebanon, which didnt make it out of the district tourny and Mt. Juliet, who went 7-17 for the season and got put out also at district tourny. Ezell : 27-5 on the year 22 out of 23 on 1A schools 0 out of 1 vs. 3A 4 out of 5 against D-II schools They 2A teams Ezell faced were Page and Harpeth. Page got put out at Sub-state and Harpeth got sent home during the Regional Tourny. Ezell lost to a 3A school (Hickman) that finished 15-13 on the year and got put out during the Regional tourny. The D-II team (Harpeth Hall) that Ezell lost to has advanced to the Boro to play. And another D-II team got put out at Regional. So take this how ever you want, but in my opinion Cloudland plays just as hard if not HARDER teams. And has the record to prove that they can compete with good teams. Yeah but i believe if the game would have been played at either Cloudland or at Milligan then the Lady Landers would have blown the Indians out. Either way they are still going to the Boro. As for ranking the last, i think its a mistake, but you never know what could happen. All of these teams are far to close to rank, i dont even know how you all are doing it. What are you basing it on. Well anyway i would look for Cloudland to be at 6 if i did make the poll my self. But as i say its to close to call from here! As for the Cloudland vs. Harriman disscusion, yes its true that Harriman blew out Oneida twice by like 16, but what you failed to mention was how Oneida beat Harriman once by three. And also how Harriman barely escaped by three against Oneida another time. So whose to say that if Cloudland and Oneida meet three more times that Cloudland would blow them out every game. Sure once you play a team two or three times (Harriman vs. Oneida), then you can prepare your team for them and know their style of play. Then that gives you the advantage that Harriman had against Oneida those last two games. Take this how you want. But once again i say its to close to call! Go landers, bring the ball to East Tn. What a great sub-state game. Both teams played great. I didnt ever feel as if CLoudland ever really got into an offense though. When you have a 6'2 girl and the other teams biggest is at most 5-7, then why do you not go inside and just finish the game early. Oneida girls played very hard, Congrats on a very great season! But heres some info.....we did win OUR region so we SHOULD get to practice where we play. But oh well i still think we can pull it off either way!!!! So go all the way LANDERS!!!!!!!!

I would like to put my boy Wes from Cloudland on here. He does a great job with the announcing. He gets alittle over excited at times but to be young he does a great job. He also needs work on the music! He plays slow dance songs and what sounds like bluegrass. But you know we love you man. Keep up the good work man!!! GO CHS!!!!!

No your right, its not our fault that our gym is to same. But i mean every other team that is hosting a sub-state game got to practice where they will be playing. Want to guess where our girls got to practice today. Not at Hampton. So i mean while everyone else is getting another day of work in our girls just have to try to prepare mentally for the game and then practice on the shooting during warm-ups. I mean come on, theres no way anyone thinks that is fair. Is it really a rule that you cant practice at the place if its not your home court???? This has to be one of the worse rules ever!!!!
