  1. Why was the interference not an automatic 1st down and the personal foul by Carter a dead ball foul? Why would they offset?
  2. Both teams are playing in the same weather.
  3. That would never happen with their coach.
  4. Lol, I guess Carter will launch into the poll now with 4-1 record.
  5. Folks, according to this article. The young man has passed away. http://www.newschannel9.com/news/bledsoe-1004887-boring-condition.html
  6. Each year The East Tennessee Chapter recognizes high school scholar-athletes that have achieved success in the sport of football and in the classroom. The following players with the high school they attend were awarded at the NFF Brunch at the Foundry April 18. Congratulations to each of these and good luck in college. 7. I must have missed something. I never claimed that PrepXtra LB's were a joke. They are all really good athletes, so please do not put words in my mouth. I simply inquired about the process. Again, let me ask in another way. How does it make since that the same people that nominate and often select as their pick week to week defensive players of the week, pick 1st and 2nd PrepXtra all KIL players that weren't nominated or selected as frequently, and in some cases not at all, as others? Sure, to an extent this is possible, but multiple week picks that weren't on 1st or 2nd team? Come on, anyone can see the system has problems. It's not as if only one LB was chosen; there are several total that make up 1st and 2nd team. Is it possible that players are recognized for great defensive play throughout the season, but aren't even on the radar in the final picks? If the panel thought these were the best linebackers and put together their PrepXtra teams, why didn't some of them ever get selected during the season as the pros' pick? These are the same people, you know? Finally, without mentioning names, you stated that you thought the players were deserving at that position. Then please explain why one of them didn't see a single snap at linebacker in the KY TN Border Bowl. Surely, he's not one of the best linebackers in the area. It doesn't make him a joke, just not one of the best. Please help me understand.
  8. Winning football games is actually a sign of a winning TEAM, not individual players. The kid I'm talking about actually did play in this region, but he did not play linebacker against your Halls team. He was definitely the best linebacker in the region no question about it. I saw them all, too. You can disagree if you wish, but you are simply wrong.
  9. Wow. I feel so stupid now I didn't realize this before. Unless you know who I'm talking about don't make assumptions about tackles 20 yards downfield. He had 9 sacks, 16 TFL and was easily the best linebacker in the region.
  10. How could a kid who was nominated twice for prepxtra defensive player of the week and actually won it once be left off of all- prepxtra? Maybe one of the experts who picked this team could explain that for me. This kid was TACA allstate and led his region in tackles and he's not even 2nd team prepxtra. Congratulations to those who made it, but you've got to wonder sometimes what it takes to get selected for these things.
  11. Players report this evening and will practice Thur and Fri in preparation for the game Saturday. Both teams look are very strong and it should be a great game. I wonder how the weather (it's gonna be very cold) will affect the game?
  12. "I think we all (or most of us) know who the jerk and idiot is in this conversation. Move on to something else." Well, aren't you just a modern day Judge Ito. Or should I say Barney Fife. If you're finished with a live thread, leave. Don't go away mad, just go away! Who are you to make such determinations? If you have control over a thread you don't like, close it. Otherwise, let people fuss if they want to.
  13. For future reference, "out" is a military term used to end a radio communication (i.e. "red falcon out," or B14 out"). It has nothing to do with "Hip" lingo; it's simply standard military radio protocol. Because Rome and others use it doesn't mean they use it correctly. I apologize for failure to break old habits and for confusing you. Please accept my sincere request. You have your opinion; I have another. Remember, opinions without compassion equals ruthlessness. Now, I'm really out.
  14. Oh, so now I'm an idiot and a jerk? You don't know me either, yet you make judgments about the number of hours I volunteer like you would know. You, Mr. educator, are classless. I'll bet you are wonderful at your job. I still stand in support of Carter's work regardless of the negativity of those such as yourself. The support on this thread speaks for itself, but I guess no one knows him like you do. I'm out.
  15. First, you chose to be an educator just like many others; however, many of us don't complain about the salary because we chose the profession. That statement just shows your negative attitude! Secondly, I did and do support him. Finally, I kiss no one's butt; I simply support and respect hard work when I see it. There are three kinds of people in this world: those who do, those who watch it get done, and those who don't even know it happened. You are the kind that watch it get done and then complains about it. If you don't like it, get involved to change it. Don't sit in the stands and object to every call. Get on the "field" and demonstrate how to do it right.
  16. Sure you have! I guess you have ocean front property in Blaine too. If you've known him for 30 years, you would also know that there are no easy answers or solutions to the problems and issues he faced; therefore, you would not have the opinion you previously voiced. Your argument doesn't hold water. Folks with your opinion (mostly disgruntled pretenders that think they have the answer for everything) are in the minority; I assure you of that.
  17. It's easy to make bold statements about someone I'm sure you don't know personally when you hide behind a screen name. First, if you knew him, you wouldn't make ignorant statements (ignorant because you don't know what you're talking about); second, I'd bet a double cheeseburger that you wouldn't say it to his face. Thanks, Ronnie, for all you've done. Your leadership will be missed!
  18. Does anyone know when will the All Prepxtra team come out? Does the ALL KIL team come out at the same time?
  19. All Region 3-4A for Central was Dylan Wolfenbarger Wyl McMillan Jacob Rhine Jamie Wilson
  20. I agree completely that Barnes deserved to be on the TSWA All-State team. He had a great year. It would have been nice to see Central's Wolfenbarger (166 total hits, 8 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries) on the team. But he did make the Coach's All-State team and will play in the KY/TN Border Bowl. We need to congratulate all who made either team.
  21. Congrats to all who made it especially Shannon Meady. You are a beast with the ball in your hands.
  22. How about Wolfenbarger from Knox Central at LB. 166 tackles, 9 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, several tackles for loss in a tough region 3.
