  1. though id have to say knoxnavigator is a moron (haha), Campbell Co. is probably the most underrated field around. Many people may not get to see their field besides Halls, Powell, Central and others in that district, but standing behind the plate at Campbell Co. looking out into the field is beautiful! It gets chilly up there, but it's worth carrying a jacket in. The grass is green, the cutouts are done well. I've played at all the Knoxville area schools for my four years of high school and still around these fields in this area and Farragut has the best field around. I have seen William Blount's field and its a close second, but I'm telling you...it is SMOOTH at Farragut. To me,though, these teams need to spend more time and money working towards becoming better teams than competing on who has the best field. Beat Farragut in a game, not in a comparison of fields. (I know this is all about best field, but this discussion has been going on for several years and people keep putting more money into their fields--good fields dont make good teams--I wanna see some great teams that have crappy fields! haha)

    umps?

just play the game. i had a game here in Knoxville today that was a text book ballgame that fans, players, coaches, umpires, and whoever else was bearing the conditions just loved. I would have loved this game on a beautiful afternoon without the conditions. The teams were ready to play, the bats were swung, the plays were made (for the most part haha), and we saw some close plays. I made some calls at first that were bang, bang. Didn't have any dispute. Quality coaches. I must admit I am no veteran of umpiring, but I hustled and these coaches have respect for us and it was greatly appreciated. The fans were the same. Yeah they saw some pitches they didnt like, they expressed their feelings quickly and it was over. The strike-zone of my partner was the same throughout the game and all was well. EXACTLY HOW THE GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED. I played high school ball for a punk as a coach. Love the guy off the field, but he was a punk to the umpires(and he knows it /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ) . It helps every once in a while for a coach to buck up and take on the umpire to build some moral and know they are behind their team, but when it's all the time it just gets old for everyone. (if its too much your players depend on it) Let umpires do their job, let the coach do theirs, and as fans you do yours. Mutual respect for all three positions results in a game like I umpired today. Good luck to all!
  3. partially...college coaches go after their players and shove the good things in their face...asking and pushing are 2 different things.
  4. easily? obviously not easy enough or you would have been. lol and your runners in scoring position got there off an error. good try though and good luck NEXT YEAR. oh yeah...dont be so sour. its just high school baseball.
  5. middleTNbaseball.... you're crazy if you dont think Lockwood is a good player. who ever said lockwood will pitch that much at Tennessee. as a sophomore he his 17 or 18 dingers and well hmm he's hit double digit homeruns since his freshman year and has around a 1.0 ERA and is good defensively. keep your nose in middle Tenn and want to run your mouth about him? lol people kill me.
  6. ok i take that back...a GREAT team doesnt lose 5 games in a row, but a really good team can.
  7. strokeforce...one of my favorite coaches ever. Coach C. that team i swear has some of the best hitting players ive watched in high school baseball. its kinda sad. and it makes me all think about their head game. as strokeforce can tell you, we had a heck of a time in Memphis last year. we had fun, but when it was game time by gosh it was game time. at the beginning of the year NO-ONE even ourselves didnt think we were gonna make it to the state champ game. we faught with each other in the beginning and everything else and were losing games that shouldnt have been lost. but then something just clicked and we took each game at a time and went from there. we had confidence that we could win but we made a screaching hault at confidence. when you know you have a good team where there hasnt been much of REALLY good teams roll through then that kinda gets in the way sometimes. but anywayz....that's too bad that they're done. Looks like Lawson pitched his heart out, but im sorry if you disagree and think im being partial to Halls cause i went there but that team is one of the best in the state. i dont care if they lost out or not. a great team could lose 5 games straight if they dont come together and get their heads right. remember baseball is a mental game too....and ill bet a million that had a ton to do with it. no criticizing cause my props goes out to the Halls team. Seniors you got a State Runner-Up and a consecutive appearance-not to shabby for Halls. congrats to the teams that move on....im gonna go look to see if Farragut moved on.
  8. there is a mature adult out there somewhere and they go by dixiepixie14
  9. i loved going to Memphis. Great environment. Though as you all said Auto Zone Park is probably out of the picture now but it was neat having the ceremonies and champ games there. i wouldnt go all the way out on a limb and say Nashville is the BEST place to have it but it wouldnt be all that bad. Chatanooga...not so much all that great. Been down there for the Trojan Classic a couple of times and i dunno....its not bad but its not the best. Knoxville-if you have it in knoxville you're limited on playing fields unless you want to drive a a class to sevierville to play the smokies park. if the smokies still played in Knoxville then you got Lindsey Nelson at UT and the Smokies park. I'm from Knoxville and i may just be stumped right now but thats all i can think of to play at a nice stadium or field that has "meaning" or where someone "higher" plays.
  10. yeah well last years Halls team got beat by Campbell Co., Oak Ridge and several others...didnt seem to hold us back. regular season and district tourny games mean nothing once youve gone from one step to the other in the route to Beale Street and the surrounding area. im def. not saying Halls will go down and sweep the state by shock, but i wouldnt hold it against them. and that goes for any team. its all about getting hott. and Oak Ridge...thats one game and they beat a good pitcher from South Doyle, all pitchers at Fairygut are good-great pitchers and they hit off them 8-1, and then they beat a really good pitcher at DB. district means nothing partner. talked to my boys while they were on the bus and they seem like they're ready to play. hopefully by now every player on every team heading to memphis is ready to play so that there will be some good ball.
  11. STONEWALL- LOL! well primetimeplayer-man you know better than get on here and run the mouth. you know polston doesnt like it and it makes you all look goofy. we all know how Halls plays and just keep playing that way. win how you gotta win, and if you lose then lose. Tough luck to D-B- no body knows what went on on the field when it comes to class so no one can comment on that but players and of course its gonna be lied aobut and exaggerated but anywayz... as a close quote by Ron Burgendy "Keep it Classy Baseball Fans and Players"
  12. gah lee...farraguts pitching was DEEP last year. it always felt like if you were gonna sneak by a start by one you were gonna catch the other.
  13. msgov, do you know who i am? but nah that would be fun. bring back some good and bad memories all in one going down there. but i work and ive got class so i cant make it...unless something crazy happens.
  14. Halls is bringing some more talent to the table next year. i hate talking about the next year before the current one is over but i couldnt resist. they lose 4-5 starters and some pitching depth. they keep LOCKWOOD, Lucas, Borum, Boruff as starters with some others they occasionally see some ball.
  15. keep on runnin it partner. that's all we heard last year and we put em out left and right. im not saying that they will do the same this year but i wouldnt count em out!
