  1. Absolutely they should have been disqualified. I have seen and heard people talk about "no rules were broken" and that is total B$!! Above all rules is the INTEGRETY of the game which was horrendously violated in this display!! Good for the TSSAA!!! JMHO
  2. I was there and I must respectfully disagree with your statement that Liberty's starters sat for almost the entire first half. Coach Jones did get frustrated with them and sit them for a part of the half but I would be willing to say they played more than they sat in the first half. Lexington shot the ball very well and Liberty didn't. Liberty couldn't get into their press due to their not making shots. They depend on their press for points so if you can't score, you can't press and if you can't press you can't score. When liberty did start making shots in the 4th qtr, they cut a 20 pt lead to either 8 or 10 as Lexington missed a couple of front ends of 1 and 1's. Lexington was able to make enough fts in the end to win. Hats off to Coach Grant, Coach Harrington and the Tigers. This was by far their most complete effort of the year. And btw, when these two played at Liberty, it was very close for 3 qtrs.
  3. Ticket, it is provision the TSSAA put in a couple of years ago to help with travel expenses. The non-hosting district must submit an alternate site to the TSSAA in the fall in order for this to be allowed. If that site is not submitted on time (this happened in our region last year) then the tournament stays with the hosting district. Hope this made sense.
  4. Since all 14-AA teams won their quarterfinal games, the semifinals and finals will be played at Lexington High School.
  5. No. The championship will be at Lexington. There is a provision in region play that if two teams from the non-hosting district reach the final for the championship to be moved to an alternate site. The problem is that District 13 did not submit an alternate site to the TSSAA. According to the TSSAA, District 13 was asked more than once to submit their site but it didn't happen. There was a thought that the championship would go to the higher seeded team from the non-hosting district in that case but that is not the case. There is no provision for that. Also, the coaches in Region 7 voted at their meeting that if there was not a sweep by District 13, the rest of the tournament would be at Lexington.
  6. There seems to be some confusion concerning game times for the region 7-AA semifinals. The bracket on the TSSAA website is backwards. The district champion from the host district (14-AA, Bolivar) should be listed at the top of the bracket. This is done so if the two district champions make it to the region final, the champion from the host district would be designated as the home team. The correct bracket is: Tuesday, March 2 6:00 Covington vs Bolivar Central 7:30 Liberty vs Ripley Sorry for the confusion Terry Clement Region 7-AA tournament director
  7. There seems to be some confusion concerning the Region 7-AA tournament brackets. The brackets on the TSSAA website are backwards. The champion from the host district (14-AA, Lexington) goes at the top of the bracket. If the two district champions make it to the region finals, the champion from the hosting district would be the home team. So the correct bracket is: Monday, March 1 6:00 Westview vs Obion Co. 7:30 Bolivar Central vs Gibson Co. Sorry for the confusion Terry Clement Region 7-AA Tournament Director
  8. Fayette-Ware at Lexington postponed until February 11th. Hardin County at Lexington postponed with no make up date set.
  9. South Side lost to Lexington last Tuesday night
  10. There seems to be some confusion about the semifinal matchup times so here they are: Tuesday, February 26th 6:00 Bolivar vs Harpeth 7:30 Sycamore vs Creek Wood Finals will be Thursday night at 7 pm
  11. There seems to be some confusion so here are the brackets: Monday Feb. 25th 6:00 Mc Nairy Central vs Bolivar 7:30 Creek Wood vs Cheatham Co. Finals are Wednesday at 7:00 pm
  12. Here is the bracket Feb. 14th # 4 Bolivar v. #5 Lexington 6:00 #3 South Side v. #6 Camden 7:30 Feb. 16th Bolivar/Lexington v. #1 Mc Nairy 6:00 South Side/Camden v. #2 Chester Co. 7:30 Feb 19th Consolation 6:00 Championship 7:30
  13. The rule is that the team of the injured player must possess the ball before the game is stopped. I have seen time when the official did not wait for the injured player's team to possess the ball. As a coach, i didn't have a problem with the stoppage. A child was injured. That is the most important thing to remember. That is the rule however, officials have the, not sure this is a good word, authority to stop the game at any time.
  14. Whitney Johnson, guard from Lexington has not signed.
