  1. I am the board administrator at the mustangfanpage. The person who posted the message in question has been a visitor before. He has asked questions before concerning various topics that we did not post but just emailed answers back to him. His questions dealt with topics that had nothing to do with the Lipscomb team or the program. In his emails he has given some hints of his ties with both Goodpasture and another area high school. If you read into his comments you will find that he is actually predicting a very close game. There was no trash talking or bashing anyone. Just a dig at the more recent Lipscomb/Goodpasture games and a dig with the Boyd Buchanan game. People are trying to make more out of it than it really was intended to. Actually, this person has spoke very highly off the record of the Mustang team and program. So lets not get too worked up about this. I know it wasn't submitted by a classes Lipscomb fan to pump up the team and their fans. I'm pretty sure it was just in fun.
  2. The Moron you speak of only repeated what was told to him by no less than 10 people immediately after the game, which included one school administrator, one coach, 3 or 4 different sets of parents and one guy coming out of the press box. Now tell us-was that not a big win for Boyd or what and the way it ended? You don't think that the Boyd team, players, parents and patrons won't remember that game for a long time?
  3. Bliss is probably the best in the entire state. However, I would put Chris Binkley from Lipscomb in the hunt behind him. Ask Springfield, Greenbrier, Marshall County, and Goodpasture--he didn't have to punt against Westmoreland. Yes--I may be a little prejudice on him--So noted.

  5. I found that the administration which included the principal, the athletic director, the coaching staff, everyone who worked in the press box, even David Orr their PA guy was very polite, and very hospitable to the Lipscomb gathering at the game. Marshall County has great athletes and great speed, and perhaps for the second week in a row for the Lipscomb team, the better team may not have won. Marshall county had a number of penalities, unforced errors, wasted timeouts and yet was in the game until the end. They have a upbeat somewhat cocky pre-game attitude but that attitude appears at alot of schools The only unfavorable incident came on the last play of the game and he was probably just frustrated in how the game ended. Both teams lined up and shook hands along with the coaches. Going and playing Marshall County always makes for a interesting game. No exception with this game. Phantom pass inteference calls at the end of the first half and a several no call penalties were issued. The funny thing happend before the game even started. Officials flag Marshall County who was going to receive the opening kickoff with a delay of game--the band took too long to get off the field. 2. Marshall County on at least 8 different occassions had 12 men in their huddle and got penalized twice for it. It appears at time there was a little "Vanderbilt" confusion on their sidelines. I don't know who will be able to beat Marshall County during the regular season. They are good.
  6. No references here to Lipscomb. If Mustangs win Friday night at Goodpasture-could shed some new light out there. It appears everyone else has written them off. Besides Goodpasture having to play them this friday night, do you think any of these other teams mentioned here would want to play Lipscomb in week two?
  7. This game has both region and state ramifications and usually has since Goodpasture got out of the * division of play and back into Lipscomb's region. The web talk has already started between the schools and will get better as the week progresses. This one should be a good one this Friday night at Goodpasture.

You can find the WAMB broadcast of the game (hopefully if south cental bell gets their act together) by going and following the links at http://www.mustangfanpage.com
  9. Its not that they don't like each--unlike teams of the past this group really doesn't know one from another and to say they don't speak because they don't like each other is probably adding a little spice. They may only know one or two on each team and that's it. The teams that Lipscomb players know would probably be BGA, Hillsboro, and Overton. Goodpasture is on the other side of town and they run in different circles. I know Lipscomb isn't looking at it as a hate/grudge match. They are looking to win the region and they know they will have to go thru Goodpasture to get there.

This will be a defensive game. If Lipscomb doesn't gain a single yard in the game-yes Goodpasture will win. If Lipscomb cannot hang onto the ball-Goodpasture will win. We concede they are LAST YEAR'S state champ-but this is 2002 and a clean slate is out there for all. This game is probably the High Lite game in the entire state this Friday night. Should be a great game to watch in person. The game is on WAMB radio or you can hear it over the internet this year. Mustangs will be ready to play-BET ON IT. WOULDN'T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE.
  11. Going back to 1994, Mustangs did hold the lead with time running out. The Lipscomb punter was having trouble all night. Coach Mac told him not to kick but to just run some time out on the clock. He wasn't trying to score or show up Goodpasture--Why not ask Coach Martin what he was up to on the last two plays of the game last year?
