  1. They need to talk to Jay Gore, Assistant at Brentwood High School. He has long resume from successful programs.
  2. Overall TYC has a winning record against Lipscomb. 1970: Lipscomb wins 42-0 1971: Taft wins 12-6 1972: Taft wins 28-21 I know the 71 game was played at Taft. In 72, Lipscomb was up 21-0 and Taft scored 28 unanswered points for the win. That game was played at TPS.
  3. This has already been addressed.
  4. The picture you have posted...is that from this year? The logo on the helmet throws me. In 2002 you have a gold logo...in 2007, you had a solid black helmet.
  5. On the Bulletin Board response. Remember Bulldog69 is a Page High School fan. After Page is eliminated from the Playoffs, he becomes a TRUE Region 5 Fan. The Only thing that appears on the Lipscomb Bulletin Boards: 1. Depth Charts 2. Scouting Reports 3. Game Grades 4. Who has to clean the bus after a road trip 5. Who is bringing the food in after the game 6. Who turns off the lights at the stadium Comments from Coacht...and newspaper articles are not permitted or posted. Remember with Coach Mac and the Lipscomb program.....its about us...its not about them. That approach has been very successful over the years. For all the Mitchell Fans and those looking for more information on the teams and the game this Friday Night checkout The Mustangfanpage.com Over the next couple of days, Peter Powell's Lipscomb Game Day Notes will be posted which includes all the tidbits on this week's semifinal game. You can find rosters, scouting reports and historical information. The Mustangfanpage will also carry the broadcast live over the internet. The Link will be posted on the main index page around 6:30 PM. Pregame show begins at 6:40. Kick off at 7:00 PM CST. Check back and look for all of the new information that will be posted from Wed-Fri afternoon.
  6. Since the 2005 season from an outsider looking in. It looks as if the school just went thru the motions of being able to say that they have a football team. Their football field is probably the worst in Region 5. The visitor side has very poor seating, worst than Lipscombs. The field itself is over used and not cared for properly. Doesn't appear that the school takes much pride in the sport at all. This is especially disappointing for a 3A school. The facility reminds me of a Memphis middle school field where the TSSAA let a semi-final take place last year. The school needs to step up with their program or let it go. Its just not fair to those kids who want to play.
  7. I think Giles will get the automatic bid for the 4A slot I think Fairview will be in the Hunt for the automatic bid for the 3A slot Page and Marshall County and the rest will be vying for the at large bids.
  8. There is already a thread running on Giles County football
  9. I was wondering how long it would be for you to comment. Met several people from Dyersburg at a Harding University football game a few weeks ago and they said they knew you well. They were hoping to be able to travel to Nashville and watch Dyersburg play Lipscomb. We appreciate all insight that you have shared over the past several years on teams coming out of West Tennessee. I noticed that you didn't pick a winner only that it was going to be a close game. People keep telling me that Mitchell lead for most of the game last year and that Lipscomb only got ahead in the closing minutes. Its funny, I don't recall Mitchell leading that much until very late in the game. I was going to offer you a ticket and a spot in the Press box if you were. Tell everyone in Dyersburg that I said hello and looking forward coming down and seeing your new stadium when completed.
  10. As I mentioned earlier, Lipscomb doesn't want to play in week zero! They've done it once....in 2006 The Clinic Bowl as part of a Charity game to benefit Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Coach Mac and the Lipscomb program is a creature of habit to the ninth degree. Why would he want to play a regular season game(Outside of his district) to a team he would have to face in a early round of the playoffs unless he HAD TO fill a date and had no other choice. He calculates all of this into his mindset and how it fits his roadmap. If Giles County was a 3A or 5A team that might be different. He plays Greenbrier because he likes the coach and the style of game they play and they would not meet again until the state championship game. I am sure Giles County is chomping at the bit for a rematch next year and I don't blame them at all. I would too.
  11. Since you referenced the time frame since 1993 you may want to add an asterix to your post. *Prior to 1995 (The year the multiplier was in place and the year of reclassification) Lipscomb made it to the championship game in 94,98, 2002, 2003 with victories in 94 and 2002 in class 2A. Mitchell made it to the Championship game in 2002 in class 2A as well.
  12. Lipscomb doesn't play week 0 unless its in the Clinic Bowl. Lipscomb usually announces its official schedule until the football banquet, which usually happens sometime after the first of the year. Thanks for the offer though.
  13. Good Luck Cougars From Droopy Cooper and........
  14. As long as White House is in the playoff mix, coacht is not going to let DaCatfish back on. I have not seen or officially heard where Lipscomb will come in. There are 16 2A Districts in the State. Lipscomb is in District 10. Should the TSSAA use a similiar format as to the one they have now, Lipscomb would go west. However, in this new Z-Plan (Virginia Plan with the Multiplier, Lipscomb has a very difficult road to travel. They will be playing in the old N.I.L. district with Maplewood Whites Creek Stratford Pearl-Cohn East CPA Giles may end up playing a Maplewood instead.
  15. Gosh Bulldog, I think the ahapplet Giles County Mother had it all wrong. She thought I was Eddie Haskell, when its been you for all of these years.
  16. Lipscomb has been playing Greenbrier in week one since 2001. Lipscomb has only played in week zero once and that was in 2006 in the Clinic Bowl. Lipscomb likes playing in a Jamboree in week zero. Lipscomb hasn't dodge any opponents since the early 1070's when they got tired of playing homecoming dates. Here's my take on your district next year. For my Projected Seating purposes in District 12 1. Automatic bid 4A: Giles County 2. Automatic Bid for 3A: Lewis County 3. Hoping for at large births: 1. Page, 2. Marshall County, 3. Fairview
  17. Lets look at things since the 2002 Season. Overall the Mustangs are 79-10. Since the 2005 Season, they are 40-5, with 2 losses in the State Championship games, Livingston Acad and Fulton (05-06) The 3 other losses were to Greenbrier and 2 losses to Goodpasture. Since the 02 season, The Mustangs have only lost one home playoff game. That was in 2004 to Alcoa. (you can research further at The Mustangfanpage and click on The Lipscomb Football Chronicles.
  18. I wouldn't quite classify him as a "Catholic Guy" he's more of a homeletic guy. He knows as much about Lipscomb football as he does East Tennessee football.
  19. Bulldog, don't waste your time with this guy. I know him. For those who are interested in the playoff info on Page and Catholic: Page has been to the playoffs 9 times. They have an 8-9 record and have played 10 different teams. They have advanced twice to the semifinal game in 97 and 98 losing both times to Melrose. Catholic has been to the playoffs 17 times. They have an 13-17 record and have played 20 different teams. (9 years of the 17, they entered the playoffs in the (*) asterix division or what we call D-II. Catholic has not advanced to the semifinal game as a member of Division I. In Divison II or the * division they lost in the finals in 2003 to BGA and lost in the semifinal in 2003 to Briarcrest. In the *asterix divison, you can play 2 games and play in the state championship game.
  20. First of all let me address your assumptions. I am only Vandy1, not Eddie Haskell. Bomb Squad or anybody else on this thread. Secondly, I am a big fan of Bo Wallace since his freshman year and have made those comments on Coacht, The Mustangfanpage, and in the past as a sideline reporter for the Lipscomb Sports Network. Thirdly, if Giles County had won the game, I would have been in Pulaski on Friday eating at the Hickory House and sitting on the Giles County side of the stadium and rooting for Giles County. The reason I ask for his name and number is because you of the way you reacted. I just didn't see it. And what child was being made fun of. Also, there were numerous mentions of Rogers by Giles County folk on this thread a as well. PERHAPS ALL THAT CAN BE TAKEN FROM THIS THREAD HAS LONG PASSED. COACHT OR THE MODERATORS MAY WANT TO LOCK IT UP. ITS NOT HEADING DOWN A GOOD ROAD.
  21. They only rushed a part of the field in Memphis last year. The field was quickly quarantined off by game officials and law enforcement. Not sure of how many students will be in attendance, due to the holidays. So if there is not enough students to rush the field....we'll let the mothers rush the field.
  22. A more accurate description would be a part of their compensation package, just like Tennessee public school teachers get tremendous discounts for their kids to attend a state university or junior college.
  23. ("Laugh, Laugh") The Truth hurts.. doesn't it? and by the way, it will set you free.
