  1. They were arrested but have not been convicted. We know how things work on the pro and college level, wonder how this plays out in a public high school? Whatever the school or school board does will set a precedent.
  2. The Bomb Squad was the one Coacht poster with many alias that could blow up a thread. After he got finished with you, you would want to go and turn off the lights and sit in the corner of the room. Even the Leprachaun would leave when Bomb Squad entered the forum. It was usually a one-two punch with Eddie Haskell as his tag team partner. I think Bomb Squad and Haskell graduated in 2004.
  3. As John McCain would say, My friend have you hear the term of "Webspeak?" When chatting on the internet whether it be forums as such or even blogging, misspelled words and run on sentences, with some bad grammar are aceptable.
  4. Oh be careful how you say Bomb Squad! Its like when you say BeetleJuice 3 times in a row. "Day lights coming-me wanna go home"
  5. As John McCain would say, "My Friend, you are in another world." Apparently all of your friends have lost against Lipscomb. People look to find things to break others down to their level when things don't go their way, perhaps your friends fall into that category.
  6. I am a bit concerned when someone says Lipscomb has had a lot of unsportsmanlike conduct penalities this year. I have watch Lipscomb Football since 1967. I have several friends and family members who call HS football games. They all indicate that Lipscomb is one of the schools who shows what sportsmanlike conduct should be. I can think of 4 unsportsmanlike penalities this year and I may be off one. I can think of possibly 10-12 called against the Lipscomb opponents this year. Sometimes you need to be close to the action where you hear things on the gridiron and see little things that lead to these calls. Can you document your comment about troubles they have experience most of the year? I am curious of your claim.
  7. Portland needs to talk to Jay Gore at Brentwood High. His resume includes: Head Coach at East Robertson, Assistant Coach at BGA, Assistant Coach at David Lipscomb, Assistant Coach at Hillsboro, and now the line coach at Brentwood. He's been to the State Championship game on nearly every level.
  8. At times we are at the mercy of Lipscomb University. They must have been using them that night. Some extra bleachers were put in the endzone this past week for the Lexington game. Hopefully, they will leave them down there for the Giles County game. (We need better seating at the Reese Smith Athletic Complex) I believe we have the smallest visitor area with exception of Montgomery Central in the Region and perhaps in all of 3A. The stadium was built in 1982 when the Mustangs were still in Class A...We are also limited in the number of seats in the stadium based on Metro Nashville Codes dealing with parking spaces. AS per Bulldog's comment about the Lipscomb sideline reporter concerned about what sandwich he was going to get..gives you a good insight that food is a big topic of conversation at any Lipscomb home football game. We had the Tennessean reporters there one night and we graded as the #2 Tailgate destination. The next game, Rudy Kalis came out and partook and reported on the tailgate as well. Food in Lipscomb threads and on the Mustangfanpage Message Boards are acceptable topics of conversation. You should know that by now. Bulldog: What ever happened to Coach Hard and/or the coach at Greenbrier that used to post on Coacht. I don't know that we heard from him this year.
  9. The Lipscomb sideline reporter does not signal anything to the Lipscomb coaches in the press box. Don't know what he would send up that the Lipscomb sideline coaches don't already know. Good to hear about Sam Edgmon in the UT JV game the other day. His good Lipscomb High Friend on the team, Ben Lehning had two catches in the game, one for a TD
  10. Lipscomb trailed Stratford early in the game during week 2
  11. Might as well get this thing going. Hope all of the Region Five teams and fans will want to come and watch this inner region quarterfinal matchup between these two region mates. It will be the final meeting of any Team in Region 5 as the TSSAA are changing to Districts and some of the teams are moving into other areas. Come as a fan and sit on either side. Lipscomb will need their "A" game as we know Giles will come in really prepared for this game. It is my understanding that both teams are fairly healthy.
  12. How was the food at the Hickory House last night? We tried to get updates on the game from the Reese Smith Athletic Complex, but the CoachT site was having problems all night. We had to call the Pulaski radio station for score updates. Sounds like you guys had a wet, drag out game. Congratulations to both teams on a fine season and big kudos to the Page on turning the corner in the program. As to next week: We know that all of Pulaski will be heading to Nashville, but we also want to extend an invitation not only to Bulldog69 and Jackie Bennett, but to all of the Page team and fans to come on down. Feel free to sit on either side. It would be good to have all the region playoff teams and all the region mates to come and watch this game. Hey can someone call Marshall County and make sure they turn their computer on so they can get the email message. I think Big Country, aka Catfish Hunter and DaCatfish and the Cheatham County Boys will be there and we are anticipating some of the Creek Wood players and faithful as well. Montgomery Central packed it up a long time ago and headed to the house. But they are welcomed as well.
  13. Thats a bit cold of a comment. Austin Rogers was a very good HS football player. IMO, Zach may be considered a much better all round HS Football player from his older brother. He is definitely faster and has proven to make a big difference in the game.
  14. There is a current thread running with the title Way too Serious, you should read this. yes, Lipscomb thinks about the game at hand, but don't think members of that 2005 team do not think about that State Championship game and probably many other games that season. The Lipscomb fans and perhaps most other fans of other teams reflect on many games of the past. There is one Lipscomb game back in 2000 with Marshall County where time stood still...fans of both schools still talk about that game. As I interpret the Coach T site, conversations like this are permitted. However, perhaps not in this thread, but at times the conversation is shifted a bit. To finish the thought....LA was better prepared and executed their game plan and won the game. An amazing end to an amazing run in the playoffs. Truly a team worth talking about for some time to come. As for tonights Game: Peter Powell's Lipscomb Game Day Notes has now been posted on The Mustangfanpage featuring David Lipscomb Hosting the Lexington Red Tigers. See rosters, scouting reports and everything on this TSSAA Round 2 Playoff game. The Game will be broadcasted live (audio only) on The Mustangfanpage. Lexington Fans may want to check out our visitors and facility page as parking has changed since their last visit in the 2005 Season. Does that make you happy?
  15. Unless I interpeted the map wrong for midstate 2A football, The District looks this way unless the TSSAA Board of Control makes changes today. Goodpasture (Apparently the Tennessean is reporting that Goodpasture did not get included in this district-Map may need to be corrected) CPA David Lipscomb Whites Creek Stratford Maplewood East Literature Pearl Cohn Basketball Only MLK Hume Fogg We haven't seen this kind of mix since the days of the old N.I.L. (Nashville Interschoolastic League) Wouldn't Fred Russell and The Nashville Banner be proud.
  16. No complaining here. The game was over. Lipscomb had no timeouts, LA only had to take a knee to run out the clock. Why score and then have to kick off. Could have been a kickoff return for a TD, then a recovered on-side kick and a hail mary pass for another TD could have tied the score and then overtime. Why not finish the game in the victory formation? Unlike some schools out there past and present, Lipscomb takes the knee.
  17. I knew Dr. Cates when we were kids growing up in South Nashville. Got to hook up with him not at the football but later in a basketball game at Lipscomb. We invite you to come over at any time to watch the Mustangs play. Love to have more of your teammates to come as well.
  18. The last ball we brought home was a gold one last year. It matched the two others that we already had, which is surrounded by 4 silver balls. I guess your Gold ball is collecting dust and is very lonely. Seriously..... What has happened to LA since that season? What I've read on the threads were brutal. Since that coach left after the 05 game, things have tanked. (Didn't care for his move at the end of the game to tack on another TD.....that was viewed as poor sportsmanship by many across the state. Has Wilson Cates gotten to play much at Princeton.
  19. The Correct Spelling today is D-A-V-I-D L-I-P-S-C-O-M-B. Sounds like a cheer to me. Good Luck to the Cougars against Lewis County. Jeff Lockridge has picked against GP in the Tennessean today.
  20. DL's Coach Mac would intrepet this as they are 3 Billion Chinese who could care less who wins. Good Luck, Page! Its been 10 years ago since you have advanced past the second round. Perhaps you can break that streak.
  21. I can name one now and not have to wait.
  22. Just wondering why they did not include Kyle Lehning from Lipscomb off the kicker List. He is the state recorder holder.
  23. Nice Idea for a T-Shirt! What schools have a winning record against Alcoa outside of Maryville?
  24. We have wondering for years even with the different coaches. Why and who they play and where they play. Hightower runs for 280 yards against Lipscomb during his sophomore season. Then during his junior and senior seasons he disappears from the offense. We figured Marshall County could have taken one from Lipscomb during his Junior season alone. Just mystery....comes out of Lewisburg.
