I'm condemned to live here in the Dallas MetroPlex, so I don't get much news from God's Country. How are the Jackets from Kingston looking for 2011? Somebody, ANYBODY, please send us some rain and cooler temperatures!

I'm located in Dallas and would like a quick synopsis of how Kingston's Yellow Jackets are going to do this year. Thanks. RCHS Class of '73.

RCHS (are they still Roane County High School?) 18 AEHS 24 I'm a '73 Alumnus of RCHS and hope through wishful thinking they can pull this one out.

Thanks for the info. I'm a 1973 alum of RCHS and back then "Kingston High School" was never used anywhere.

Can anyone tell me what Kingston Sports'>Kingston means when referring to Roane County High School? I've seen this in several forums and would like to know what this means and its origins.

Austin Clark, Mike Snow, Eugene Martin, Bobby Brooksbank.....brings up fond memories...........I don't think Austin Clark started very many games at UTK. Matter of fact, he got the Most Spirited trophy or something like that after his senior year. For some reason, it was that of a horse. Big picture in the Roane County News....Clark with his trophy. Trophy was turned so that the "south" end of the horse was showing.....anyone else remember that pic? Something subliminal going on?????

I graduated from RCHS in 1973 and I remember some very good teams during that era. They lost a close state championship game to Chattanooga Riverside during Austin Clark's tenure. Anyone remember that? Currently I live in Dallas, TX and have not kept up with the Jackets in recent years. What happened and why is basketball (and girls team as well) in such disarray?

Anybody know anything about Kingston this season? I once read they are going into a new division soon. Is that true? By the way, is it still called Roane County High School or just plain Kingston High School? During my day, it was RCHS. We don't get a whole lot of Tennessee HS news out here in Texas.

Wasn't there, at one time, a Rhea County (or Central) High School (RCHS) with colors orange and blue nicknamed Yellow Jackets in Dayton? I went to Kingston (Roane County High School also RCHS, orange and blue Yellow Jackets). They were a big rivalry of ours up until at least early 70's. It seems like they were phased out for some school named Eagles with green and gold colors.

I'm a '73 graduate of Roane County High in Kingston. Back in my day, the Yellow Jackets dominated East Tennessee football, especially against some of the mid sized and smaller large schools. I currently live in Texas and have been away from Kingston for quite a few years. How have they been doing the past couple of decades? Are they still a force not to be taken lightly? I did hear they're in a new, killer region with some of the inner Knoxville city schools. Rob H.
