  1. I also heard that DJ Shannon got a couple of good dunks.
  2. I heard about it. Now tell me about it.
  3. If Hill will play like he did against Wartburg they will be ok. He was unreal against Wartburg. He threw 2 beautiful passes to open the game. Good Luck Jackets.
  4. CY, Thanks for the compliment. I hope Coalfield does well tonight. They have a lot of potential and talent. Just one question though. Has the QB got his head screwed back on? From what I saw Friday night he was not mentally in the game. I hope the boys avoided putting butter on their toast this morning as well, maybe they can hold on to the ball better this week. Good Luck tonight.
  5. I am a Wartburg fan so this is big time for me to do what I am going to do here. I say Coalfield will keep the Morgan County tradition alive and do to Hampton what Wartburg did 2 years in a row and man handle Hampton. Coalfield by 14
  6. Hate to hear that about Hill. What happened to the Breeden kid from Wartburg last night?
  7. It's just not hard to stop Wartburg anymore because you know exactly what they are going to do. They also don't have the skill players that they have had in the past to run the offense. Just a very lackluster effort by Wartburg all the way around and plus Coalfield played a great game. Wartburg needs to step up big time in the coming games or it is going to get even uglier than this.
  8. My hats off to Coalfield. They played a heck of a game. I believe Coalfield is better this year than last. Davis is a heck of a player and will be unstoppable. I will admit it I was wrong. I drank the Wartburg Kool-Aid and bit into all of the hype. I heard all the stuff about the big O-Line and how Seth George is going to dominate. And the sad part is I believed it. Wartburg will go 0-10 on the year. The boys just do not play motivated. They do not look like they even care. They came out on the field scared lastnight and Coalfield handed it to them. Once again congratulations Coalfield and best of luck on the season. I hope you guys win them all.
  9. KYJellyJacket, Cumberland Gap is not a good football team.
  10. The bottom line of it for me is that if Wartburg plays ball like the should they should be ok. Regardless I just hope both teams play ball to the best of their ability and may the best team win. I do believe that Wartburg will put forth a better effort against Coalfield then they did Oneida. If that is enough I don't know. We will find out Friday night though. I believe Wartburg will be ready though. After losing in the first game I believe it has left a bad taste in their mouths, and also you have to believe that they will have the whipping that they took last year still in the back of their minds. Another thing that is on my mind, you hear alot of the people around Wartburg talking about playoffs and stuff. If they don't improve tremedously over the next week or so they may be in trouble. Wartburg will have to win more than one district game this year to get into the playoffs. So they better stink it up now and get rolling. The games remaining on their schedule will leave them no room for error. They are going to have to start playing ball.
  11. I hate to break it to you there buddy but Cumberland Gap is a 2A school. Yes it is a shame that Wartburg lost to a 1A school. That should never happen. It is embarassing to me being from Wartburg that they lost to a 1A school. I will give Coalfield credit that they schedule larger schools than they are. Even if they are weak ones. There is no way that Cumberland Gap will make the playoffs in their region. Plus Region 1-2A is probably the weakest region in the state of tn. Region 2-2A (Wartburg's Region) always dominates them in the playoffs.
  12. I saw the box score for the Coalfield game with Cumberland Gap. I did not here much else about it though. How did Coalfield look? Did they let up and let Cumberland Gap back in it? Just curious.
  13. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make it sound like Oneida didn't have a little to do with it. Yes Oneida played a good ball game. Wartburg did not capatilize though like they should have. Yes, Oneida was the better team Friday night. I don't know if they would be the better team any other Friday night. Oneida's defense is tough. I did not understand some of their play callilng on offense first. If I was Oneida I would have thrown the deep ball against more and went away from that little swing pass they kept doing. I didn't understand some of Wartburg's play calling either. But I am not one of their coaches and don't watch the game films so what do I know. Good luck to Oneida though. They seemed to be a very classy team.
  14. Bucman06's assessment of the Wartburg/Oneida game and prediction for Coalfield game: Wartburg's biggest problem in the game was they lacked intensity. I was worried about this happening when I talked to a couple of players and they were talking about how good they are. I hope it was a wakeup call. I knew we were in trouble when the team ran out on the field. Some of the players already had their heads down. If Wartburg would have played with some intensity this would have been a different ball game. I will say this though. Wartburg's run defense did look pretty good. Pass defense that is another story which was evident on the first play of the game. Seth George did look good with the ball in his hands until he went out as did Scotty Phillips. Some of the others looked like dancers instead of runners. Wartburg had too many turnovers. Oneida dropped at least 3 interceptions and I would say Wartburg dropped close to the same. Wartburg needs some playmakers to step up and make the big plays when they are needed. Wartburg was also inside the 30 several times and could not convert. This is when Wartburg needs to have some players get the guts in them to stepup and make a big play. I saw some potential on Friday night. Just need to get the guts to make the plays. If Wartburg play like the did against Oneida against Coalfield, Coalfield will win. However I don't think that that is going to happen. Wartburg should come out with some pride in this game and take care of business. I will take Wartburg 20 Coalfield 13.
  15. I hope that it is because the Wartburg boys know that it comes time to shutup and playball. Maybe they are more worried about playing Oneida right now than what Coalfield is doing these days.
